This place was perfect, it was spacious and the beds were very comfortable. There was plenty of storage for all of our bags and it was 1/2 the cost of the local hotels. The building is nice and well maintained. We appreciated having laundry available and all the kitchen amenities not to mention that it was stocked with a welcome basket of snacks which was great when our arrival was delayed to midnight and we were hungry for a snack when we got there. It was a very comfortable place to go relax after a long day in the city. It is within walking distance to the famous Quincy Market and wonderful North End! We rented a car so the other great thing was the parking, is has it's own assigned parking spot at not extra charge and it was so nice to be able to pull right in after a long day and not have to search for a spot.
We rented this apartment because we were attending a Bruins game and it was close to the TD Centre and bordered on our favourite part of Boston, the North End. We have been staying in VRBO rentals for nearly 20 years and have rarely been disappointed. Our experience has been overwhelming that the units that are privately owned are far better than corporate rentals. This Stay Alfred two-bedroom is a modern, clean unit. We noticed on arrival that the range did not work and just kept flashing an error message. We called the number given and were told that a maintenance person would attend to it. That was the last contact we had about the non-usable stove. Since one of the main reasons that we rent apartments when we travel is to prepare most of our own meals, this was obviously a major disappointment and inconvenience which probably merits a partial refund. The ice machine in the fridge made ice but you couldn't access it through the front door and it was somewhat cumbersome to squeeze your hand into the ice container to get some. The towel racks in both bathrooms were off the wall and on the floor awaiting someone to reattach them. Light bulbs were burned out in the living room and in one of the bathrooms. As has been our experience with corporate rentals, there were absolutely no condiments in the cupboards with the exception of a salt shaker. Though there seemed to be 2 packages of coffee in the basket on the counter, there were no filters to use in the coffee machine to brew that coffee. Overall this was a most disappointing experience and we will not rent a Stay Alfred apartment again.
