Wonderful Portland neighborhood home
We loved staying at this beautiful and cozy home in Portland. Great kitchen and three very nice bedrooms. Street is friendly and quiet!
We took advantage of the great shops on Division, Hawthorne and Belmont - all within walking distance of this home. We also loved being so close to Mt. Tabor Park with beautiful views.
This would be a very comfortable home for up to 6 adults or adult/child combo.
Owners were very helpful and responsive!
It doesn't get much better than this! We rented this home for six weeks as we transitioned back to the Portland area after living overseas.
The house: after a few years of doing this, we know what to look for. The kitchen is better stocked than my own! Whether you want to cook a meal, bake a cake, or just serve take-out, you have everything you need in this kitchen to serve 10-12 people. The only drawback: no BBQ. Three bedrooms and two bathrooms allow for you to have a houseful of people and not feel crowded. The rooms are spacious and well appointed. The bathrooms have good water pressure. The basement has a washer and dryer for renters use. The owners have made the house a home for all to enjoy, with beautiful artwork on the walls, comfortable furniture, and well stocked cupboards. Plenty of area to spread out and enjoy your time. There is driveway parking for one vehicle and street parking if you need additional parking.
The neighborhood: for anyone familiar with Portland, it is right in the heart of SE Portland. Located on the top end of the Hawthorne district, its walkable to tons of restaurants, bars, and shops on both Hawthorne and Division streets. Yet it is also up a few blocks from all of that, so allows you the peace and quiet of a regular neighborhood. We've walked for hours around all of the beautiful neighborhood streets, as well as Mt. Tabor Park, which is located only a few more blocks up the hill.
The owners: the owners have been very responsive. From our first contact when I was trying to find a place to rent from overseas, unlike many, they were not put-off or concerned about this. They were prompt and courteous. They met us upon our arrival and walked us through the house, giving us tips and guidance. They showed us the quirks in the house (yes, there are a couple, as it is an old house) and made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. Throughout our six week stay, there were a couple of times I needed to contact them and they responded promptly and positively.
Value for your money: Can only say that this was such a good price when I originally was looking at it, that I thought something must be wrong with it. NOT. Great value!
Cannot say enough positive about this house. We loved our time in the house and only wish we could've stayed permanently, as it is exactly the type of house and location in Portland that we want to be in permanently.
Cozy house in a WONDERFUL neighborhood!
My husband and I, our adults kids and their partners (total of 6 people) came to Portland for a few days to spend time together. We loved staying at this house! It was comfortable, clean, pleasantly decorated, and most conveniently located in a walkable neighborhood with delicious restaurants and a good grocery store in the vicinity. The lovely Mt. Tabor Park is close by - another plus. The house is exactly as described on the website -- no unwelcome surprises at all. All communications with the owners were easy and straightforward. They were most helpful in providing information about vegan-friendly restaurants in the area. I would not hesitate to stay here again -- great neighborhood, cozy house, nice owners!
Quaint and quiet
House was very spacious in quiet neighborhood. 5 of us were very comfortable and having 2 bathrooms was great. Large kitchen with plenty of plates, cups etc... Owners were really great to communicate with. Easy access to shopping, stores, parks and expressway . Overall the accommodations were very nice.
Lovely Home in Hawthorn District
The home was lovely; the backyard was a mini-paradise of green, the home --immaculate and comfortable -- was filled with art, comfortable furniture, and warm hardwood floors. We came there for a family get-away and were more than pleased. The house is just a couple of blocks from the Hawthorn District -- a street of unique shops, great restaurants, theatres, and more. The nearby bus stop gave us a chance to head to downtown Portland. The neighborhood was quiet and friendly. When Portland declared a "do not drink the tap water" alert, the landlords filled our fridge with bottled water, and through email checked in with us throughout the weekend. We would definitely recommend this house for a family retreat of 3 to 6 people!
This rental is really wonderful - clean, conveniently located, and helpful, responsive owners. My family stayed here for a week and had a truly great time. The house is as beautiful as the description and perfectly located in the Hawthorne/Mt. Tabor area. There are plenty of restaurants accessible on Hawthorne and Division. We also cooked at home quite a bit as the kitchen is very well set up with everything necessary. We were able to take great walks around the beautiful neighborhood including up Mt. Tabor with all its trails. We would definitely recommend this property to others and would stay again in a heartbeat.
