We found the cabin uncleaned after the previous rental. We contacted Melissa and explained the situation. She was very helpful in helping us find the needed supplies to make our stay comfortable. My only complaint is that I was told that the cleaning fee would be refunded and at this point the refund has not been made.
The view, the house, the hot tub, the yard, everything about this house made it a perfect place for our annual fall girls trip! Clean, tidy, comfortable!
The house is beautifully decorated, but seems like in the last few years it wasn't cared for as much. The beds are not very comfy, the 1st level bed was shaky and noisy. When my husband moved in bed I jumped up every time. It was like a mini thunderstorm earthquake combo. The headboard was hitting the wall too every time one of us moved and we are about 170 lbs each. One of the beds upstairs had a metal piece of the frame with 2 legs laying loose under the bed.
The hot tub is right next to the 1st floor bedroom and it keeps turning on throughout the night - more noise. No instructions on how to turn it off - we tried to no avail. Bath towels are thread bare and some have holes in them. No cutting boards in the kitchen. All skillets have non stick (teflon) scratched through badly in many places. I was avoiding them as much as I could (thank God we had no canaries with us, they'd be dead). The house sleeps 8, however there are only 4 chairs in the entire house. What about having a family meal together? Outside there are more chairs, but no easy place to seat 8 for a meal either. There were a couple of blankets, but not enough, our bed had none, so we had to use the bed spread, which seemed more of a decorative type. Also, the communal garbage container where we had to drive our garbage is not always open. We left on Sunday and took our remaining garbage with us, however the container was locked! So we had to drive our garbage home across 4 states! They could have mentioned the garbage container hours somewhere!
Over all definitely not worth the money.
The sunroom was awesome. The hot tub was great. The house was warm and cozy. The lake was down a lot but still got some fishing in. The master bed wasn't very comfortable and made a lot of noise but there were other beds to choose from that weren't so bad. Its also the furthest we had ever stayed from Gatlinburg but it wasn't bad
We had a awesome time! This was the second time we have stayed here and we WILL be back again next year!!!!
Beautiful home, all the comforts of home, nice layout, very clean. Nice back porch, all the seating you could ever need. Couldn't launch boat- water too shallow this time of year.
