About the property

7 Minute Walk To The Historic Plaza! Sleeps 4-6

Located just a 12 minute walk (.6 miles) town's historic center, the Plaza, your home is perfectly situated and in the ideal location for those of you who love to walk also right across the street from a fantastic public recreational center with beautiful parks, play ground, indoor pool and fitness equipment.

If you prefer the comfort and privacy of your own back yard, swing open the double doors off the master bedroom and enjoy the completely enclosed and lovingly landscaped yard. Your pooch will love the yard as well. Comfortable patio furniture with plenty of room for all to gather for a morning cup of coffee or evening barbecue. The master bedroom has a king size bed and features a kiva fireplace. It is a bright and cheerful home and the double doors in the master bedroom open up to your inviting gardens and spacious patio. The second bedroom is equally as comfortable with its queen size bed. You also have a sleeper in the living room. Sharing the bathroom does not create an inconvenience as it is Jack and Jill style layout allowing private access for all. Additional features include perfectly maintained hard wood floors through out, an uncluttered yet warm and inviting environment created by the southwest furnishings. There is a breakfast bar with the kitchen and again the layout is perfect, as there is open space with the fully equipped kitchen dinning area and living room.

Poppy is located next door to Lavender and when leased together, these two homes offer a 4 bedroom option, which is ideal for larger groups traveling together or families looking to be within close proximity of each other.

Please note: this home is next to Bishop's Lodge Rd. and guests may occasionally experience light traffic noise. Most guests do not notice, but noise sensitive guests should take note.

About Two Casitas, Santa Fe Vacation Rentals, Wendy Kapp

A note from Wendy Kapp- Owner of Two Casitas Santa Fe Vacation Rentals

Having been raised in Chicago, my soul longed for the massive blue skies and mountains I first saw when my mother, well-known watercolor artist Phyllis Kapp of Waxlander Gallery, introduced me to this magnificent area when I was 6 years old.

While returning west in 1975, I came through Santa Fe and fell in love with Northern New Mexico once again. I found the people here, especially back in '75, to be the most authentic people I had ever met and I decided to make Santa Fe my home. My extensive knowledge from living here for since 1975 makes me the perfect, local hostess to give you tips on making your stay memorable. I hope you come to love Santa Fe and, in-turn Two Casitas, as much as I do.

Two Casitas, Santa Fe Vacation Rentals, Wendy Kapp purchased this house in 1988

Great Place

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our recent stay at Two Casitas, Poppy House. The location was perfect, since it was a short walk to the historic plaza. The owners/managers were very friendly and had left wine and chips/salsa for us upon our arrival. They also provided helpful suggestions on what to do/see in the area. The only suggestion I have would be to make the window in the bedroom with the king bed "openable" - or otherwise to put a ceiling fan in that room to provide some air circulation. We had a great stay and would recommend the property to anyone!

Loved it!

  • 5 of 5

The house is perfect. I want to express how awesome that sofa bed is. My husband and son loved it so much they used it every night even when a bed was available. The sofa bed has no springs or metal bar running through it. The property is well maintained, clean and just perfect. Word of caution, take an neutralizer spray for restroom in winter, as restroom has no vent. We went 4 adults and 2 kids ages 6 and 4 and their was plenty of room, extra pillows and tons of towels. Oh and I love to cook, and kitchen was great!

Owner's Response: Thank you for the wonderful review! I'm not sure that anyone has ever been so enthusiastic about the sofa bed, but that is an important aspect of being able to utilize our homes to their fullest extent! We're so happy that it was used and enjoyed along with the kitchen! We hope to see you in Santa Fe again some time soon.

Poppy Casita

  • 5 of 5

We spent 4 days in Poppy Casita last week. The location is good, on a residential street, about a 10 - 15 minute walk to the plaza. We really appreciated the welcome snacks and bottle of wine! The kitchen was clean and stocked with coffee, cream and sugar. Our favorite part of the home was the patio and beautiful outdoor space! The chairs were comfortable and relaxing. One thing I would mention, is the bed in the master bedroom is very, extra firm. Don't know if this might be a concern for some people. Overall we found Poppy to be clean and spacious and we enjoyed our stay!
