PRIVATE - WATER FRONT - BOAT SLIP The Lodge at Strayhorn Cove is located on beautiful Lake Tenkiller in the Cookson Hills of Oklahoma. Rustic elegance is the best way to describe this one of a kind home. High vaulted ceilings, huge wood burning fireplace, large game room along with themed bedrooms set this home apart from the rest. Outside, there are 3 huge decks with lots of patio furniture and is a favorite place to visit. (On a dark night you can even watch a satellite go across the sky.)
There is a short walk (1 minute) down to the water. The marina is just across the cove where you can rent party barge or ski boat. Watch for white tail deer to cross the lawn in the early morning or at twilight. Come to a place where the world turns slower and life is simple.

My name is Randal Rogers and I was born and raised in the Tenkiller Lake area. I make a living building luxury cabins on the lake along with selling prime lake view lots. I have been married 35 and have 2 wonderful kids. We are small town America with basic values and home town pride. We will treat you like family.
Randal Rogers purchased this house in 2013
The Lodge at Strayhorn Cove is the newest classiest vacation rental on the lake. From the knotty pine floors, old claw footed tub, to the granite counter tops everything is first rate.
Private!!! You can't see another home. Boat slip is just a short walk away. 3 resturants within 6 blocks. Marina with boat rental just accross the cove. Game room with pool table and poker table. Rustic decor bear skin rug, elk, deer, bobcat, turkey, moose horns.
Dear Unhappy Jet Skier, I'm so sorry your visit wasn't all you anticipated. I would like to address the issues you raised. Easy access to the lake- It's water front property, the lake is in the yard. Very little activities- you can fish in the yard, you can swim in the yard, there are 4 kayaks, a canoe and a flat bottom boat in the yard. If it rains you can play pool, poker, board games and there is a wii with over 20 games. The dock is too far away- you can walk to the dock in less than 5 minutes or drive to it. People who want to sit and visit- you got me there, the huge deck and fire pit are perfect for those lazy people. Awful road- Tenkiller Lake is located in the Cookson Hills so to get to the water you must go down to the water. The Lodge is located on a public lake access road that is steep and graveled. If someone is not use to these conditions it can be trying, just slow down and don't spin your tires. There are 11 private docks at the bottom of the road and for 60 years people have been going up and down in everything from two wheel drive cars to golf carts. So far all of our clients have gotten home. I'm truly sorry you had difficulties during your stay. However I have seen 2 other reviews from your family they seemed to have a great time. In the future, if you have concerns, please voice them to me during your stay and I will do all I can to correct any issue. Thanks Randy
The place was very clean and very beautiful, not to mention the price was very good compared to some of the resorts nearby. I would definitely stay here again if we go back to Ten Killer. The game room was really cool and so was the outdoor fire pit. Kids really enjoyed it also. The place was perfect for a large family that enjoys the lake life. Hope to go back again.
The Lodge was beautiful pictures do not do it justice. The view is amazing. Shawna and Randy were incredibly nice and there to great us. They were so helpful and went out of their way to assist us. Randy was out at night fishing when I first called him and he answered. We are so grateful for their hospitality. We had plenty of space for everyone and the kids had so much fun they didn't even have time to argue or fight. Everyone had something to do. The bunk room was the kids favorite along with the pool table, Wii, kayaks and canoe. They did roast s'mores outside at the fire pit and they also loved that. Plenty of room in the kitchen for all of us to move, cook and eat. Kitchen was fully stocked with everything anyone would need to cook meals. It was so peaceful, comfortable and relaxing, it was better than home. We will be going back for sure all of our family was so impressed with the Lodge. We were able to make new family memories and the kids can't wait to do it again.
The home was beautiful and the owners are very, nice people and easy to work with. Everything was spotless, and in working order. I would recommend it to anyone that needs to vacation.
The Lodge is the perfect getaway for families and large groups of friends. The location is a beautiful, hidden retreat by the water but only a short walk from Paradise Hill. We utilized the boat slip, large deck and every piece of equipment in the kitchen. Randy was so accommodating and helpful for the duration of our trip. Can't wait to go back to the Lodge!
I brought a group of students and young adults to the Lodge and it was incredible! The owners were great to work with and were super friendly. The moment you pull into the driveway and walk through the front door, you feel right at home. The decorations were great and really helped set the atmosphere for a cabin getaway. The Lodge has a fully stocked kitchen with any cookware and utensils you could need. Very spacious. We utilized the boat slip, the kayaks, the pool table, the outdoor fireplace, and the many levels of decks. The Lodge is right on the water and secluded from any other traffic and houses. I was 110% impressed with the Lodge and would highly recommend it for anyone who is wanting a get-away on the lake.
Just want to say that my family had a great time at the Lodge. We enjoyed family time and very much enjoyed the views!!!Randy and his wife are very sweet people and very accommodating. The kids enjoyed the kayaks and the pool room while the adults enjoyed the decks and peacefulness. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone!
In addition to all your favorite things to do at the lake (swimming, boating, fishing, scuba, sailing or just skipping a rock across the water) there are so many other things. Tenkiller State Park has a nature center that show off our wildlife and other critters form possums to rattle snakes. They also provide a playground and swimming pool. Peek-a-bo petting zoo is only a couple miles away if the kids want to get up close and personal with a goat. For the adult there are 5 golf courses with in a 20 min drive. Tahlequah holds a vast number of Cherokee Indian attractions from a native village to a new CASINO. Northern Oklahoma State Univ has 2 different musicals held each night. Vian and Gore host several antique shops and tea room. And there is always JUNK in the TRUNK ( no telling what you will find there) at Big Daddy's Restaurant by the dam. You'll always find good food too.
There are lots of four wheeler/motor cycle/bide trails to ride but you might have to ask a local where they are. Walking trails are all around the lake.
Bird watching is great here too. Pelicans, eagles, loons, geese, ducks of all kinds and then there are all the little ones I don't know the name of.
When all else has been done, just set back and look at our lake. The 80 foot rock bluffs are as amazing as the ability to see rocks 10 feet under water. Any way you look at us --WE LOOK GOOD!!!
