Loved our stay. Great boating access.

  • 5 of 5

Nice house, great yard, tons of water frontage, incredible sunsets, well equipped & perfect location for getting out on the water. Fishing, snorkeling, hanging out on the sandbars with friends, just about everything we love about the lower keys. Stayed with 4 adults and 3 teenagers and were comfortable. George was great to work with. House could use a little updating, but we did not come down to spend our time inside. :-) The house & furnishings were extremely clean and very well cared for. The 3 panel sliding glass door that completely opened up to the screened porch was simply incredible. We ate many meals out there and my daughter painted on her canvases every morning & night.

Trip Highlights & Boat Info

- Looe Key - Easy run (10 mi / 22 min from house to reef @ 21.1 kt avg). Snorkeled around 2 goliath groupers (350 & 500 lb fish), black tips, moray eels, barracuda, you name it...hours of fun each day.

- Snipes Point - Longer run (19 mi / 47 min from house to sand @ 20.4 kt avg). Incredible fine white sand, good friends, cold beers, snorkeling, spear fishing. Went on a weekday so it wasn't too wild & crazy.

- Picnic Island, Tarpon Belly, Niles Chanel, Newfound Harbor Key, etc, etc. all very easy to get to.

Like every winter/spring, the wind dictates what to do out on the water. If you're uncomfortable navigating, get a boat with a guide, it is so worth it. For us, this house made it easy to get out to the Atlantic on light winds or to the back country & Gulf when the winds picked up. Our 23' Wellcraft easily made it around the near island, man-made channel to get to Niles & Newfound Harbor without getting into the larger swells on Atlantic side when winds were up (like you would going thru Kemp Channel & around).

Thanks George for the stay & the wonderful family memories made here!

housewith an awesome view

  • 5 of 5

The house was just as described. Very nice!! I loved the privacy gate to the house. The owner George was very helpful with the questions we had. This was our third trip to the keys with my best friend and his wife. The view of the bay was awesome!! We did some Kayaking with the kayaks provided, some fishing. Even though the weather was the coldest since 1935 it was still better than Maine weather. Only 25 min drive to Key West! We decided that 1 week is not enough next year we will stay min 10 days, hopefully 2 weeks. We would definitely stay here again.

Thanks George!

We loved our stay

  • 5 of 5

My wife, 3 children, and I stayed here for a week and it was absolutely what we were looking for. We stayed in Key West last year and liked staying on summerland much more. The house had everything we needed and wanted. We rented a boat and parked it easily at there dock and fishing and snorkeling is very closeby. I asked my kids what there favorite thing was on the trip and they said kayaking and swimming in front of the house.

Thanks George for a wonderful stay and we will see you next year.

Great rental

  • 5 of 5

Our family had a great time during our week stay here in April. This was our second year staying at this beautiful home and we had a great time. The home is in a nice quiet neighborhood and is well equipped with everything you could need for your stay. The location really is ideal with Key West and the Bahia Honda State Park each just a short drive away. We did some lower keys exploring this year finding many new places to snorkel off of the beaten path and saw many cool things along the way. We saw a waterspout as a storm passed to the north of No Name Key, (very cool.) Then there was the battle reenactment the Friday evening that we went to Key West. And the fishing from the pier of this awesome home is top notch. We caught many snapper, and grunts, and others during the day, and had a great time landing a few sharks at night. If you have been looking for a great home in an awesome location you just found it. Thanks again George for a great stay!

Just as Advertized

  • 5 of 5

Stay was great! Took our own boats and docked two bay boats and fished six people all week offshore and inshore. Protected water for docking, freindly neighborhood for securty, easy access to open water on ocean and bay sides. House was everything advertized it would be and more. We would go back in the drop of a hat.

Million Dollar View!

  • 5 of 5

The house is comfortable and well equipped. It is in a great location--close to Key West and great snorkeling. But the best part, by far, of the house is the view of the ocean. We sat on the screened in porch and enjoyed the view every day at breakfast and again in the evening. It is a great vacation house to relax in.

Owner's Response: Thank you so much. I have to agree that one of my favorite times is at breakfast and again at sunset on the screened lanai ! It just soothes the soul !!!
