The house is a beautiful old Victorian red bricked building and is full of character and charm. This studio is situated at the back of the house and is quiet and tranquil so guests can relax in peace and quiet after a long day sightseeing.

All of our guests remark on how easy it is to commute to Dublin city centre and beyond as there is an excellent bus service that runs right by the house that will take you all over Dublin and even beyond if required. This street is a beautifully tree lined street which runs right up the the entrance of the Phoenix Park.

This park is the largest urban park in Europe and houses Dublin Zoo and the presidential home and offices as well as a children's playground. It is a wonderful park to visit and spans over 1750 acres.

The street also has beautiful Victorian red bricked houses all along it which date back to the 18th century so it really is a taste of old Dublin. Deer roam freely here and it's a wonderful way to spend a day and enjoy the beautiful gardens. You can also hire bikes here.

There is a major supermarket just 3 minutes walk as well as a pharmacy, bakery, coffee shops, bars, restuarants and many other amenities all within easy walking distance. It's a mainly residential area and as the house is set back from the road noise is at a minimum even though you are so close the city.

There is an excellent public transport system with several bus routes that pass right past the house and also a light rail system that is easily accessible. The 46a stops right outside the house so you can be in the city in 10 minutes. Buses are frequent and reliable and we suggest for any guest staying longer than 3 days to pick up a Leap card.

We can organise taxis for guests upon request and an airport transfer can be arranged also upon request for a fee.

Please don't hesitate to contact me and I will be happy to answer your queries.

About Liam Travers

I come from a family background in the hospitality industry. Having lived in New York for a number of years, I returned in 1990 and purchased this property in Dublin City. I have recently returned to the hospitality industry and ensuring my guests have a comfortable and enjoyable stay in my apartment is a priority for me. I am available 24/7 should the need arise. Assuring you of my personal attention at all times.

Liam Travers purchased this studio in 1990

Why Liam Travers chose Dublin

I chose this location for the proximity to the city centre and of course the beautiful Victorian Redbrick lined North Circular Road. These properties are a feature of Dublin and are preserved by Dublin Council. The fact that the Phoenix Park and the Botanic gardens are within walking distances is an absolute plus, providing plenty of recreational activity.

What makes this studio unique

There are a number of benefits to staying in this property. Located close to the heart of the city of Dublin there is an excellant transport system by bus and light rail that means all of the sights can be visited with the minimum of fuss. The building itself is a beautiful Victorian property that has unique charm while offering all the modern comforts that a guest could expect.

The location is ideal as it is quiet while being convenient to all shopping, sights, transport, museums etc. that makes a holiday. Located beside the Phoenix park which is Europe's largest urban park the traveller can have a taste of the country while still remaining in the city.

There truly is something for everyone.

Great stay in a very nice neighbourhood

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely time at Liam and Fiona's ! The room was comfy and very well equipped. It was quiet and very clean. It was really practical to be able to cook at home. The neighbourhood is lovely and has all the shops and restaurants you need. Fiona gave us really good recommendations for the restaurants too. It's not in the very centre of the city but you can easily get there, even by walking. We did everything by foot and it was easy to reach.

Fiona and Liam were very helpful before and during the stay and we felt very welcome.

We had a really great time in Dublin and hope to come back soon!

Cozy little suite in a charming building close to City Centre

  • 5 of 5

Very lovely experience - pick up driver Garry was great and we enjoyed our cozy suite that had everything we needed. Owners were very helpful from booking to exit. The fruit and baguettes were an extra that one doesn't usually expect with VRBO but was so nice for our first morning. Comfortable bed, plenty of towels and pillows and kitchen supplies. The convenient access to many bus lines was great, as well as to shops and pubs and restaurants. Phoenix Park is wonderful! The entrance is a short walk from the apartments and I recommend renting bikes on a nice day to see more of this special place.

Great welcome to Ireland

  • 4 of 5

From the pickup at the airport to the welcome at the door, everything was great about this place! Located in a quiet neighborhood around the corner from a grocery store and within easy walking distance of downtown Dublin (or an easy bus ride if you don't want to walk), this is a great place to stay for first time travelers to Dublin.

Everything about our stay was perfect. We recommend using Liam's airport pickup and drop off service. It is cheaper than Uber or a taxi, and only a 15 minute ride. You can take the buses, but it will take 45-60 minutes with all the stops and bus transfers. Liam is very welcoming and hospitable, and made sure we had everything we needed. The Molly Malone apartment was great and much bigger than most places in Europe. Very clean, had all the amenities we needed, bed comfortable, temperature just right, very quiet, showers and toilet great, kitchen great. The bus stop is a block away and you can get anywhere and everywhere in Dublin using the buses. Within the apt is several restaurants, coffee shops, and grocery stores. We highly recommend staying here if you are visiting Dublin.

Might have been nice but...

  • 1 of 5

I would have maybe given this flat a good review but, although I booked it WELL in advance of coming to Dublin, and it was confirmed by the owner who accepted my money for it with the assurance it WAS available for my days in Dublin, my wife and I were taken to a different room that I was told was "identical" except for the floor covering, and in addition was told "I have some one already in it" (ie. the Molley Malone room), and we were told we would have to take the Seamus Heanney instead. The 'starter kit' we got was 2 old bananas, a hard, dried out orange and a bruised apple, 3individual little milks that you get in a cafe, 3 small pats of butter and a baguette in a torn open wrapper. There was no towel bar in the bathroom, and the tea towel we were provided was stained. There was no bedroom or dust pan to sweep up after ourselves.

Neither do I have positive to say over arranging the ride from the airport. The man was almost 20 minutes late and was antagonizing to my wife in some misguided assumption that he was being humorous. Plus the trip was €15 more than a car hire or taxi would have been (and was when we left). Welcome to Dublin.

Owner's Response: Firstly, we would like to reassure you that all of our guest’s comfort and enjoyment is our top priority. In view of the excellent reviews we received before yours, we feel we achieve this goal the majority of the time. If you were disappointed with our new studio on your recent stay I can only apologise. My explanation is that the studio we moved you to was actually an upgrade. We felt you were staying with us for a week and thought that you would appreciate the newly refurbished & redecorated apartment. It has exactly the same facilities and is the exact same size as the apartment you thought you were getting. . It is also located at the back of the house so the view is the same. The only difference is the flooring which is a timber floor and not carpeted. It's also on the first floor. We have moved other guests here and they have loved it because it’s so new and fresh. I’m sorry you didn’t feel the same way. As regard the welcome pack we certainly take on board what you say but we can only source fresh baguettes in a paper bag which is what the bakery gave us when we bought them that morning. I will pay attention to the condition of the fruit in future as well to ensure that what we buy is not bruised. We love to get ideas from guests as to how we can improve our facilities and the towel bar and dust pan are a great idea. I will make sure these are installed immediately to make sure every convenience is taken care of. The tea towel could have been changed immediately if we had have known about it. We are always available to contact by email or phone and we are happy to help in anyway we can if required. We pride ourselves on our response to guests queries. We can provide an airport transfer for guests that request it and that means that our driver has to park in the airport which means a parking charge of at least €10. This charge is unavoidable & means that he has to pass this charge on to guests. On the upside guests are met with a sign with their name on it and brought straight to the apartment. We had to develop a system whereby guests were met as we found if they got their own taxi from the airport, opportunistic taxi drivers took them all over the city before reaching our property and charged them handsomely. We try to help guests to avoid this. We can't comment on the conversation that took place with our driver as were not there but every comment we have had so far about him were complementing his helpful nature & jovial manner

Loved it ♡

  • 5 of 5

Loved everything about our stay in this apartment! Liam was super welcoming and helpful from arrival to departure. The location is great as well. In a quiet, non-touristy, neighborhood across the street from the bus station, a block from the grocery store, and only a mile walk downtown. I'm already looking forward to my next stay!

A great place to stay with easy access to the city centre in just 10 minutes by bus.

There is a regular bus service that runs right by the front door and there is the light rail system which is a great way to see Dublin in its entirety.

We are located just 10 minutes from the city centre and have an excellent public transport service right outside the front door.

There is a major supermarket just 3 minutes walk away as well as a pharmacy, bakery, butchers, medical centre and a laundromat for guests that need this facility.

There are cafes, pubs and restaurants all within easy walking distance (max 10 minutes) and one pub in particular plays traditional Irish music nightly and has to be visited during your stay. It's an old Irish pub and people gather nightly to play here. Not to be missed!

There are also excellent restaurants so if you don't want to cook you could pop into L. Mulligan's Bistro (check out the review it got in the NY Times), Plan B, Cucina, My Thai and various cafes for that all important cup of coffee and chat.

We have eaten in all of these establishments and we couldn't fault any of them so rest assured that you won't be disappointed.

If you plan on eating in the city then it's only a short bus ride or walk to find a wealth of restaurants and places to eat that will take your breath away. The quality and standard of food in Dublin not to mention the variety is second to none so there really is something for everyone.

There are also some takeaways nearby so if you don't want to cook or if you don't want to venture out this is an option also.

Following is a list of the some of the sights you would enjoy in Dublin.

All are within easy reach of our property and while there are many more than listed here we thought we would give you some to start with.

Top 10 sights close to our apartment

1. Phoenix Park - Europe's largest urban park and houses Dublin Zoo is just a 10 minute walk

2. Guinness Storehouse - 20 minutes

3. Trinity College - Houses the famous and beautiful Book of Kells is only 10 minutes by bus

4. The National Botanic Gardens - 15 minute by bus

5. The National Gallery of Ireland - 15 minute by bus

6. Farmleigh House - also in the Phoenix Park which is a 10 minute walk

7.St. Patrick's Cathedral - 15 minutes by bus

8. National Museum of Ireland - 15 minutes by bus

9. Kilmainham Gaol - 15 minutes by bus

10. Jameson Distillery - 10 minutes walk

These are only some of the wonderful sights that are on our doorstep.

Each apartment has information on the fantastic things to do and see while in Dublin and of course we are happy to recommend other things to see and do while you are here.

Excellant tourist offices are also dotted throughout the city which can provide information on day trips, tours and other excursions that might be of interest.

Finally we want to assure you that we take great pride in our house and our apartments. We are committed to providing a quality stay and I have personally restored the apartments myself over the last 5 years.

Cleanliness and value for money are our priority and we aim to provide each guest with wonderful memories of a holiday in Dublin in a wonderful restored Victorian house.

We look forward to meeting you.
