Whatever you read or see in photos will not do this rental justice! My husband and I never felt so "at home" as we did when staying at the treehouse. Prior to our arrival, we had planned to dine out to so many beautiful restaurants with "spectacular views" and when we saw our view we had no desire to dine elsewhere! Mind you, we did eat out for lunch and one breakfast but the rest of the time, after touring, or hanging at the beach, we were ready to go back and dine in our own private retreat! Charmaine is a wonderful cook and really took care of all our needs the entire trip, she is really a sweet and kind person! The grounds were incredibly well maintained and the plunge pool was quite refreshing and also very private. Sam, the owner was very pleasant and helpful, we originally had to cancel our first booking at the last minute due to unforeseen reasons however, Sam offered to give us a full refund or offer another week that would suit us, we are so glad we picked another week to visit this beautiful island and stay at this adorable well maintained property. The only thing I would suggest, is a car rental. There is a wonderful and knowledgable driver named Claive (sorry if spelled wrong) however we found that we had so many things we wanted to see and the convinience of having our own vehicle to get to the beach or town was our best option, the roads can be intimidating and of course driving on the left just as much however, I can say I was so proud of my husband with his driving skills, by the end of the week he could have become an islander! Having the driver pick you up from the airport and bring you back is a great idea, since we decided at the last minute about a car rental, Charmaine helped us with the arrangements and our car was brought to our door! My husband and I travel with VRBO often, and we often say that we like seeing new and different places and would not go back to the same rental, however, given another opportunity to go back to St. Lucia and stay at the treehouse, absolutely! We enjoyed visiting the town of soufiere and there was a lot of activity since it was the Jazz festival weekend, there is a great bar/restaurant in town called the belle view, the volcano and gardens are wonderful attractions to visit but our favourite was driving to small remote villages and walking around taking it all in! We were so thankful for this fun adventure!
Very nice location with beautiful view of the Pitons. We enjoyed the property it was very clean and the gardens were beautiful. Dip pools are nice and the area was relaxing. Spent a lot of time at beaches and really enjoyed the people.
We fell in love with the Treehouse II from the moment we stepped out of the Taxi.
It’s perched on a hillside covered with flowering and fruiting trees. A few steps and we were through the front door, into a very private sun-warmed retreat. The open air floorplan includes a very cozy living room, a super comfortable bed with netting and a deck/dining area with breathtaking treetop views of the Pitons, bay and ocean. We felt immersed in our natural surrounding especially as photogenic banana-eating songbirds visited the bougainvillea- wrapped deck from morning till evening.
We were welcomed by the resident kitties and House Manager Charmaine, all of whom made us feel like part of the family. Charmaine, a thoughtful advisor, was very protective of us, gave us a tour of the downtown shops, and every other day prepared large portions of delicious fresh local food.
A set of steps beside the house down the hill lead to the plunge pool and patio which was also hidden in beautifully landscaped vegetation. We forgot there were neighbors. There were lounge chairs for sun bathing and the pool was very cool and refreshing.
We made use of the back pack chairs and snorkeling gear on our walks downhill to Anse Chastanet Beaches. The darker sand was very hot but the water was perfect. The beaches had security guards, so we felt really safe leaving our belongings while snorkeling. We often packed our lunch, but food and drinks were available at the open air beach resort.
Soufriere was very close. We enjoyed the coconut treats from the bakeries, fresh vegetables from the farmer’s market and street vendors and the local Piton beer. At the wharf, a community employee kept hawkers from bothering visitors.
Walking back uphill from either town or the beach was very steep. It’s a good workout but taxis are readily available with a phone call. Frequently taxis drive the narrow road looking for fares. Benton's taxi service was very courteous and we enjoyed the company of every driver we had.
Sam has a great staff and the Treehouse is incredibly well cared for and safe. Sometimes staff work around the property during the day. Sam himself was wonderful to work with. He shifted our days at the house when a snow storm cancelled our first flight and arranged for our pick up at the airport.
We recommend this spot especially to people looking for a quiet, private, relaxing get-away. Thanks Sam, Charmaine, Sharon, Alvin and John. your friends, Joyce and Tom (Jan/Feb 2016)
What a wonderful vacation destination. Life from the balcony is breathtakingly beautiful and entertaining. The birds around the property made the trip worthwhile - but that was just the beginning. An attentive staff keeps the pool and gardens well-tended. Everything was so above my expectations!
Charmaine is a fabulous cook and eagerly helped fulfill my needs. Do not miss the chance for her to prepare a wonderful meal during your stay. There are great places to walk and hike in the area. The photos I took made everyone envious back home of the spectacular views.
One highlight of the trip was going to the Botanical Gardens. They are a must see! The transportation arranged was reliable and friendly. I have nothing but fond memories of my first trip - but certainly not my last - to an incredible property. It left nothing to be wished for and I had a great time.
I stayed at this home for a week with my husband and loved absolutely everything about it. Charmaine was the sweetest, and even though we didn't need much, she would have done anything we asked of her! The grounds and vegetation and dipping pool are just beautiful, but the Piton view is like a dream! I don't know if I've ever felt so relaxed on a vacation! We rented a car at the airport (easy), main roads are great but other roads are rough. We drove to Anse Chastanet most days and walked onto Anse Mamin, where the beach is more secluded and the burgers are the best! We stayed at Stonefield Estate the last few days because the house was rented, it didn't compare with the Treehouse 2! We didn't experience any biting bugs, the bed was so comfortable. The weather was warmer than usual but we never used the air conditioning (in bedroom) as the breeze was wonderful at night and we love the heat. Thank you Sam, for sharing your St. Lucia paradise with us! You need to update pictures, as the vegetation is more lush, although a picture will never show the true beauty of this property!
If you are a nature lover and enjoy setting your own itinerary, this is the place for you! Treehouse2 is the ideal location to enjoy nature and explore this fantastic island! Charmaine is the best! The house contains everything you need for an idyllic week in paradise! Whatever you need or desire, just ask and you will receive. Request some Rum Punch for your arrival and you will have your initiation to island life!
We spent a week at this lovely property. If you decide to stay here, I highly recommend renting a vehicle (preferably something with 4 wheel drive), that way you are free to explore the island at your own pace. Take advantage of the tours provided by Mystic Man, they are excellent!
Although we have only been home for a day, I cannot wait to return to the island!!!
The Treehouse II is located off the Anse Chastanet Road on the way to Anse Chastanet Beach just outside the town of Soufriere. The Anse Chastanet Resort and Jade Mountain are located nearby.
