The chalet was once a summer fishing shack over 75 years ago and has been lovingly renovated in 2014. We've kept the authentic chalet feel but added all the modern day comforts you need in your rental.

We are currently making this chalet suitable for 4 seasons with a new exterior. Photos will be available by end of October 2017.

Includes 4 bedrooms. 2 new queen size mattresses, and 1 double and one twin bed. Sleeps 7.

One bathroom with stall shower. Outdoor shower with hot water (summer time). New kitchen counter tops, new floors throughout. New high efficiency wood burning stove for relaxing fires in the summer and cozy heat in the winter.

TV (no cable), HDMI cable included and DVD player, telephone (local calls only) and Wifi included. Also included are beach towels and bathing towels, sheets, pillows and blankets. Coffee maker, fully equipped kitchen. Washer/Dryer. Dining table with seating for 8. BBQ.

A large veranda overlooks the lake and view of the quiet bay, it's perfect for dining outdoors in the warm weather. Beyond is a long grassy lawn leading to the lake.

Long term renters only. Pet friendly for those four legged friends who behave well.

About Lisa Epstein

We have owned a chalet just around the corner for many years. We know this area well and take great pride in maintaining this naturally beautiful landscape.

We are environmentalists and animal lovers. Over the years, we've spotted many deer, a few fox, several owls, several beavers (and noticed quite a few trees missing along the lake) one baby moose, a few too many skunks and raccoon all over the area and it's always a thrill. Porcupines, wild birds, geese, ducks, hummingbirds, blue jays, red cardinals and others are frequent visitors.

Lisa Epstein purchased this chalet in 2013

Why Lisa Epstein chose Magog

This property is the ultimate escape from the busy city. The clear starry nights will leave you in awe. The early morning sunrise over the calm lake will rejuvenate you. The absolute quiet will restore your senses. The cedars smell divine in every season.

What makes this chalet unique

We bought this property because we wanted to protected the forest around it so we painstakingly renovated the existing structure to have as little carbon foot print as possible while creating a beautiful vacation spot for you to enjoy. If you enjoy the country, you'll love this chalet.

Very nice property and all the comforts of home! Great yard!

  • 4 of 5

We loved this place, beautiful cottage, tranquil, fires every night, spending the day near the water with the dogs. Only one thing that was a bit surprising - I was taught by my mother to always leave a place the way you found it. There is an older couple who comes when you arrive and also when you leave to check the place. The place was immaculate, but as he went through the place with my husband, he checked the BBQ and we had not cleaned the grease tray of the BBQ which seemed to be a BIG deal for the older man. My husband immediately cleaned it since it seemed by what he was saying and HOW he was saying it that we would lose our security deposit because of this, SO..... MAKE SURE everything is clean before the final INSPECTION!!!!!

Beautiful lake!

  • 4 of 5

This house comes with Great Lake access and boats to go with it. The house is clean inside, but the rooms and bathroom are rather small as advertised. Property manager was very helpful with everything. Water cooler was appreciated. Definitely recommend it.

Family-friendly cottage in an excellent location

  • 4 of 5

We spent a week here with our 2 young children and our dog, and had a wonderful time! The downsides have been mentioned in previous reviews... the bedrooms were even smaller than we expected, the beds are not super comfortable (though pretty standard for a cottage) and the shower is VERY tight, particularly if you are 6' or over. BUT, those things are more than made up for by an outstanding location right on the lake, a well-equipped space, and wonderful hosts. There is a huge yard (we set up a tent, played croquet, played soccer, let the kids and dog roam and had bonfires on a few nights), and also made great use of the small beach, dock, and variety of boats. The cove is quite sheltered so the water was often calmer than out in the more open part of the lake. It is very private and very quiet (particularly during the week). At the same time, it's only 10 minutes to Magog and all the amenities there. Lisa and David were extremely available, helpful and responsive both before and during our stay. The cottage is well equipped with anything you need for a stay. A great vacation was had by all!

Sheltered in the cedars

Wonderful fireplace with lots of wood. Comfortable, clean and close to several excellent amenities, spas and restaurants. Could use some mirrors in the bedrooms. Shower is small. Lots of hot water. Drinking water supplied. Great get away!

Authentic, Nostalgic, Pleasure.

  • 5 of 5

- Warm shower in the outdoor stall, in the pouring September rain under towering, fragrant conifers.

- Spending a whole day on the dock playing with my 2 big dogs, watching the clouds billow over Mt Orford

- watching Canada Geese flock, listening to loons call, on Lac Mephamagog

- delighting in the hand-made, decades old, character of the chalet

- local food (cheese, venison, duck, rabbit, more cheese...) in the local grocery store.
