We have 2 teenage boys that we wanted to take away for a few days. We had not been away in a couple of years. We had the best time. We were there the 1st week of November. They had available for us to use 2 kayaks and a small fishing boat. The boys had a blast on the lake even though it was a little chilly (which we expected). The owner us very nice and very helpful. She even followed up with us the evening we arrived home. We will definitely be trying to plan another vusit. We just love Vermont!!!!
We really loved staying here. The view out over the lake just blows you away every time you look out the window. The enclosed back porch was our favorite spot to hang out, especially since it was rainy/misty/cool for much of our stay save for a few hours where the sun broke through and the sky was a brilliant blue and dramatic puffs of clouds loomed up over the surrounding landscape. I went out and hung out by myself on the dock and enjoyed the tranquility of the water and the sun shining on my back.
The house is cozy and we did have to put the heat on and it was quite efficient. We also really enjoyed the pellet stove on the porch. There is plenty of closet space for anyone renting for an extended stay and pretty much anything you would need available to you in the kitchen. Next time I would bring my electric kettle for my tea and hot chocolate, but heating up water on the stove was just fine. :) Don't forget to bring a hand towel for the bathroom (I didn't even think of that but I had brought an extra towel just in case).
We have stayed in this general area three years in a row and it's a lovely place. We tried Ramunto's Pizza this time and it was fantastic! Madison Brewing Co is a place we always hit at least once every year. On our way home we stopped at Papa Pete's for breakfast and we were very happy with our omelets.
We would totally stay here again, it's a cute little house and it was nice to call it home for a few days.
Located right on a clean lake close to hiking trails, and skiing, this home is perfect for a couple or a small family looking for time together in a country setting. The amenities are compact but clean and Rose has provided for all the comforts of home. I would highly recommend this home to anyone longing to get back to nature and find a moment of peace.
We had a wonderful time! The lake was terrific, and we enjoyed ourselves very much. Hope to be back soon!
We thoroughly enjoyed this home and found it had just about everyone we could possibly need. The home was well maintained and well-stocked to meet our needs and the owner was very responsive when we had questions. The only thing we could have used was more trash space. We often used paper products to save on vacation dishes and this make more trash so we found that 2 smaller barrels weren't quite big enough for the week. We will definitely rent again and would have no reservations recommending this home to our friends!
We stayed in the cabin so we would have a little extra space compared to a hotel room (we shared the first night with another family). The cabin was more on the rustic side but had all the amenities you'd need. Be aware that you'll need your own sheets, pillow cases, and towels. The view of the small lake was lovely. Rose was very attentive: when the pipes froze due to very cold weather (don't worry, this wouldn't happen often!), she made the drive to fix them right away and we ended up not being inconvenienced at all. Although we came mostly just to relax, you'd have plenty to do if you wanted to snowmobile, and you can probably justify driving to Killington for a day of skiing.
