About Jennifer & Brian

Hi! We've lived in Florida for the past 16 years having moved here from Newport, RI. I graduated from the University of Rhode Island with a Bachelor's of Science in Consumer Affairs. I've worked in Real Estate, Social Services and Staffing/Recruiting. I enjoy traveling, meeting new people, reading, cooking and going to the beach! My husband, Brian, is a Mechanical Engineer. He graduated from the University of South Florida. He enjoys bike riding, boating, ping pong, all things related to cars & working on his inventions!

Jennifer & Brian purchased this cottage in 2013

Why Jennifer & Brian chose St Petersburg

My husband and I bought this property because we love the 'old world' charm of the neighborhood with its' brick streets and architecture. The neighborhood is filled with Craftsman style homes as well as Tudors, Mediterranean Revivals, Colonials, American Four Squares and others. We love that we can walk to our favorite restaurants, shops and entertainment! This neighborhood is like a New England town with Palm Trees and without the cold weather!

What makes this cottage unique

This is a single level cottage so there won't be any stairs to navigate except 2 steps onto the front porch. There is a private parking spot behind the cottage. It has central AC/Heat (no window shakers)! Easy walk to downtown and the waterfront with it's own small beach! You'll also enjoy a private washer/dryer right in the cottage. A horse drawn carriage can pick you up right at the cottage door (a unique benefit to this neighborhood) and tour you around the neighborhood and/or take you downtown and drop you off at dinner! So fun!

Perfect, private getaway

  • 5 of 5

We loved this one-bedroom cottage in St. Petersburg's NE area. It is perfectly located, totally quiet and private. Jennifer and Brian are warm hosts who have gone to get lengths to make sure their guests are totally provided for. The cottage has everything you need for a wonderful stay. No need to worry about the accommodation's when staying here. The water, parks, walking paths, downtown, trolley, restaurants, and nightlife are a few blocks away. We loved walking to the Black Crow Coffee house each morning to start our day. Can't wait to go back again.

Quiet Comfort

  • 5 of 5

Clean, comfortable enjoyable stay. The cottage was as billed. While fairly small, you do not feel cramped and there was plenty of room for the two of us. Everything was clean, plenty of everything we needed. Kitchen was fully stocked for the two of us and while not large, enough space to prepare meals and eat in. Bed was comfortable, and bedroom had plenty of storage space for us. While a little of a walk (8-9 blocks) to the restaurants and shops of downtown, it was pleasant, and you always feel safe in this great neighborhood. My wife really appreciated the central AC! Jennifer was great. I call it northern hospitality in the south. Always friendly and available if we needed, but never in your face. Nice. Waterfront and city parks 3-4 blocks away make great places for walks, runs or biking day or night.

Owner's Response: Thanks so much for choosing our cottage for your stay. I'm happy to hear you enjoyed it. Also, thank you for running the laundry prior to your departure although that is never required! I hope your trip home was well and you are settling back in. Just to clarify, downtown starts 6 blocks from our street on 5th Ave/Beach Dr. Although if you head east first towards the water and then head south to town it certainly could add up to 8-9 blocks. I'm glad you mentioned this so I can highlight the shortest route for future guests in the welcome book. Please come stay with us again sometime! Kind regards, Jennifer

Great cottage, great location!

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay in this nice little cottage. The place is well maintained, clean, and nicely decorated. Plenty of privacy in a quiet neighborhood, yet still close to downtown St. Petersburg. We loved the fact that there are several restaurants very close by, many close enough to walk to. Would love to stay at this cottage again on our next trip to St. Petersburg!

Perfect in so many ways

  • 5 of 5

A true delight to have found this cozy cottage for our St Pete stay. Quiet, clean, comfortable plus convenient to all the spots my husband & I love to frequent. Quick to reach downtown & situated for easy access to the highway for afternoon drives to the beach. Owners Jennifer & Brian are a delight as well. They really take special care of their property and their quests, very accommodating and excellent with replying & responding to our inquiries and requests. A pleasure to get to visit with them, too!

Inside and outside areas are especially well maintained. No weird smells, very tasteful clean interior furnishings and with more upscale linens & towels provided. Honestly liked this spot & our stay just as much or better than some of the higher end hotels that we have frequented in the St Pete area. Seriously, it is that nice! Also stressing the quietness of this part of Old Northeast section of the neighborhood along with the private layout of the property and secluded set-up.....a much better experience than we ever expected. Pleasantly surprised! Look forward to returning there sooner than later!

Fantastic little cottage in a great location!

  • 5 of 5

The cottage was as described and more!

We were there three nights and it felt like home immediately. Clean and attractively furnished with neat little touches here and there. The owners really want guests to want for nothing and it shows!

The owners were wonderful! Happy to make dining or activity suggestions so that we could enjoy their beautiful neighborhood and city. We are frequent visitors to the area and loved how accessible everything is from the cottage. The beach, shops, restaurants and museums are all within walking distance.

We cannot wait until our next trip back to St. Petersburg so that we can stay in the cottage. Thanks, Brian and Jennifer! :)
