Pigeon Forge is only about 8 miles which offers fun for all ages with go-carting, in-door laser tag, and video gaming arcades for the kids; and hundreds of shops offering quilts, antiques, and a wide range of local shops with arts, crafts, and collectibles that make the days long and the stories even better. When evening falls, there are numerous options for entertainment from musicals, to magic, to shindigs and down home country fun.
We have been long time visitors in Gatlinburg and stayed at many different properties over the years. Due to our large family, we have always stayed at larger chalets. We finally had an opportunity to have a trip for just the two of us. We were fortunate to find this property and this owner/manager. The chalet is just as it is pictured both inside and outside. There is enough space around the property that one does not feel like you have a neighbor in your hip pocket. You have the feeling of seclusion although it is conveniently located to Gatlinburg and the Park. It is easy to drive to the property only requiring two left turns off of Ski Mountain Road. The driveway is somewhat steep, but not excessively so for the area. There is ample room to turn around at the door so backing out is not needed. There is plenty of seating outside and a glider and rocker on a screened-in porch if you visit at at time when insects may be a problem. The bed was very comfortable and the linens were all in good condition. The kitchen had all of the small appliances, utensils, glassware, flatware and dishes that you would require without having to do frequent washings. Dishwasher detergent and and dish soap were supplied as well as towels for the kitchen. The unit was very clean and all of the electronics and furnishings were well maintained. The layout of the chalet was convenient. Although the bedroom and bathroom were upstairs, there is a half-bath located on the main level for use during the day. The owner, Rebecca, was easy to contact through email or texting and she responded quickly. There is a binder in the property with helpful hints as well as clear instructions on how to use all of the electronics. My wife and I are also vacation property owners in another location and we are very critical of how things are cleaned and for how they are maintained. The property and the owner met all of our expectations. We will make her property at the top of our list the next time the two of us return to Gatlinburg.
This was our first experience renting through VRBO and we couldn't have been happier with our choice. This home was perfect for our week getaway. It is a beautiful, very well maintained home with awesome amenities like the hot tub and pool table. It is beautifully decorated with the bear theme and we loved the tree with all the bear/fishing decorations. The beautiful kitchen was fully stocked and all we needed to bring was our food. A short distance from Gatlinburg allows easy access to restaurants, shop and the park. It was a perfect cozy place to come home to after a day in the park or shopping. Can't wait to come back!!!!!
This home is excellent! It is very well maintained, great amenities like a hot tub and Jacuzzi tub. The bedroom is wonderful, large, comfortable, the screened in porch off the bedroom is lovely. Highly recommend for someone looking to get away from hustle and bustle and enjoy serenity of the woods! Very close to downtown Gatlinburg, so out is easy to get to services like food, shopping, and market. Great soSmoky Mountain National Park is only a 10 minute drive. Could not have happier with our choice!
This cabin was exactly what we needed! I loved the layout and the amenities were great. Everything was spotless and the Black Bear /Christmas Tree theme were perfect for the size and location! We stayed for 2 nights and were able to take advantage of everything...the fully stocked kitchen for a great dinner (all I brought was the food), the pool table, the back porch and hot tub for some star gazing and the screen-in porch for a wonderful breakfast and coffee. Went into Gatlinburg for a full day and the cabin was a great place to 'come home to!' If we are lucky enough to get back to Gatlinburg we will stay here again and again!
The cabin was great, had everything we needed. Beautifully decorated. The only issue was the driveway, very steep and at a point difficult to tell if you are still on the driveway. Had it not been for that, we would have given 5 stars! Wonderful time, we will definitely go back.
This house was the perfect fit for my husband and me. We loved that it was secluded, yet only a 7-minute drive to downtown Gatlinburg. We used the hot tub every night and the pool table every day. The king bed was comfortable and the bedroom was so large! There are 2 minor negatives: (1) the sofa was not very comfortable, but we rarely used it; and (2) the kitchen was so small that 2 people could not use it at the same time and one of the chairs needed to be vacated so the dishwasher could be opened.
Parking tip: Don't bother spending money on one of the lots. Instead, park in the lot at Calhoun's Village (on the right about 0.1 mile from the light at Ski Mountain Road and the Parkway). If you purchase anything at any of the stores or eat in any of the restaurants, you can park all day for free; just save your receipt to show the lot attendant as you leave.
We could easily see ourselves coming back here!
Approximately 3 miles from light #10 in downtown Gatlinburg and the main entrance of the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. About 2 miles from the Ober Gatlinburg Ski Lodge. About 10 miles from Pigeon Forge and Dollywood.
