Shaded lake front Camper/Trailer NEW JAYCO WHITE HAWK Two miles down private Honoco Road near Franklin Point. Large private dock features a bench for viewing the breathtaking sunsets, watching the numerous waterfowl, or catching a few perch, bluegill or smallies for a tasty dinner. The night is dark with the night sky bursting with a zillion stars. Swimming in this rocky bottom clean lake is awesome. We purchased a new Jayco White Hawk Caravan edition camper for 2015. If you are familiar with the site as a previous guest, we removed the wooden deck and constructed a wide area paver patio. The unit has one private bedroom. Not suitable for children but perfect for just two adults. No pets.
We posted new video of the site with the new camper on June 23, 2015. ( I shot it with a Go Pro camera so with the wide lens of the camera the size may be misleading.)
The Finger Lakes wineries are everywhere. Mackenzie- Childs outlet factory is minutes away, too.
Water is pumped directly out of the lake and has not been tested for drinking. The lake is very clean. Two gallons of bottled water are provided for drinking.
The access is by a private on lane road, Honoco Rd access off of Lake Road only. The private access road runs in front of the camper between the yard and the dock.
Keywords: shaded lakefront setting, private dock, two miles down private Honoco Rd. close to Long Point State Park
Joanne and I love the lake. Our camp is next door and we will try to do whatever we can to make your visit on the lake a relaxing and enjoyable time. If you are thinking this might be what you are looking for, please call me to learn more and answer all of your questions. It is a camper, the setting is along a private road with other camps a few doors down.. This camp is 2 miles down a 10 MPH road that can be a bit muddy bumpy after a heavy rain.
Jim Ambrose purchased this recreational vehicle in 2015
If you are a camper, why pull your own? Come use ours! if you never stayed in a camper, it is like a hotel room on wheels, except ours does not move.
peacefulness at night, starry sky, rolling waves, awesome view of thunderstorms coming in from the west, good fishing, waterskiing, snorkeling,....
What a great place. My wife and I stayed here on a Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday night. It was very quiet and peaceful. The lake was beautiful and a very warm 83 degrees. Almost everything you would needed was provided in the camper. Firewood, kayaks, floating lounges, and life vests were provided as well. The bedroom and bath were a little cramped, but that is to be expected staying in a camper. The only time we were inside was when we were sleeping anyways. The radio in the camper has options for inside and outside speakers so you can leave your portable radio at home. We enjoyed sitting under the awning, listening to music, and watching the boats pass by on the lake. We cooked all of our meals on the provided gas grill. Every night shortly before sunset we would start a small camp fire, watch the sunset, and look at the stars. We had planned on going to a few wineries and doing some sightseeing. That never happened. We talked about venturing out one afternoon, but couldn't bring ourselves to leave our little piece of paradise on Honoco road. Everyone was very friendly and waved as they slowly passed by on the single lane lake road. For what you would typically pay for a boring hotel room, you can stay right on Cayuga lake with your own private dock, camper, and patio. Its a no brainer. We plan on telling our friends about this place and recommending it highly.
We loved returning to this slice of paradise for the second year and had looked forward to it for weeks but the location accommodations and owners graciousness and hospitality far exceeded our memories and expectations. We loved the little touches in the immaculate excellently maintained camper, the thick towels for showering and the lake, the small provided shampoo and conditioner, the new wooden chairs to sit at the end of the dock for enjoying the lake view as well as the panoramic sunsets, the beautiful patio, the inside/outside stereo system, the somore supplies waiting for us, the fresh corn and zucchini Joanne brought buy to add to our dinner, the fire pit and provided wood lakeside for incredible star gazing, lots of great fishing off the end of the dock, the lake was perfect temp for swimming (but bring water shoes or old sneakers because the entrance is rocky ) and a Saturday morning fishing trip with Jim( this is extra but so worth it) bringing in some beautiful Lake trout and Land locked salmon, and the ability to eat out side under the awning which is one of our favorite features . Both visits we have opted to cook our own meals and we are always glad we made that choice because we just don't want to leave once we get there. We used the grill outside and the nice gas cook top inside, there is a small fridge and freezer but always plenty of room for everything we bring. The bed is so comfy, and the table and sofa in the living room both allow you an amazing view of the lake . We just cant say enough about this fantastic VRBO lodging and the incredible host who live a 3 minute walk from you ; should you need any assistance or input re: places to eat or things to do. Jim and Joanne graciously supply kayaks which is on our list for next years trip as is taking advantage of Jims' new offering
http://captjimswinecruises.com/ . This is the kind of rental you almost want to keep your little secret ......It is our happiest Place on Earth ..hope it becomes yours. L and J
Awesome get away from.the busy life. Jim and Joanne where great host and making us feel welcome. Loved sitting on the dock and watching the sunset on the water and enjoyed the fire pit to make meals and just to relax the night away.
Between evening sunsets, lake front views, cozy accommodations, and great hosts, what's not to love about this place? This is the second time my wife and I have stayed here, and we can't say enough nice things about it. If you're looking for a romantic Cayuga Lakeside getaway, you've found it here. Hands down, we'll be returning in the future.
Thank you Jim and Joanne
Loved meeting Jim and Joanna. Such amazing people. Felt like a true home away from home. So sad to leave the beautiful area, fishing, wading thru the water areas, and overall ambience of the sunsets. Breathtaking to say the least. Hope to return soon!!!

We decided to rent this camper out for our one year wedding anniversary. It was more than expected. The view of the sunsets are incredible and the owners were very helpful.
Long Point State Park is just minutes from the entrance to Honoco Road. and has large structured play area for small children, beach area, and picnic areas on the waterfront.
Fishing offthe private dock and in front of property is excellent,
Snorkeling in front of the property, look for fossils in the shale,
On a 4-mile private access road that goes through all the properties, we are 2 miles down Honoco Road with a speed of 10 MPH,...going north and 2 miles south of the property is excellent for bike riding, or drive up Popular Ridge, park at the town building and road-bike the miles of scenic farm roads that have views of the lake as you ride north and south along the east side of the lake. A horse riding farm is close by.
Usually, our guests come to just chill and de-stress sitting out on their private dock with the expansive view of the lake, clouds, stars, perfect sunset view and waterfowl floating and flying by. Not suitable for children, available for two adults only.
Jim is now a Charter Captain and will be happy to provide a charter fishing outing and or winery tours by boat, docking at up to four wineries with lake access. Call or email Captain Jim with any questions using the contact information on this site.
