I don't even know where to begin. From start to finish everything was perfect. Diane, the owner, was incredibly easy and a pleasure to work with. Since I manage a vacation property myself, I have EXTREMELY high expectations when renting other vacation rentals. Diane met all of our expectations and then some. She came over to meet and greet us the next day and just couldn't have been sweeter. She was very attentive, made sure all of our needs were met and answered our questions before leaving. She lives right up the hill from the cabin so it was nice knowing she was close by in case we needed anything.
When we arrived after 8 hours of traveling we were all exhausted. We arrived to find the fridge totally stocked with breakfast items, cereal, milk, OJ, little chocolates on the table and more. The kitchen has everything you need to cook with and is very well-equipped!
The home was very well stocked with lots of blankets, extra pillows (huge plus for me since I am 5 months pregnant!), books, magazines, BBQ, children's toys, extra toilet paper, and more! The basement also has a full sized washer and dryer which came in very handy after a couple muddy family hikes! Diane provides plenty of detergent and dryer sheets as well.
Our four year old was extremely comfortable up in the loft. She felt like the Queen of Sheba having it all to herself at night! she loved all the children's books available to read.
This cabin is also in a wonderful location! I had no idea the Fox Chapel area (where this cabin is located) is more of an upscale part of Pittsburgh. That's not what appealed to me though. What we loved is that this cabin FEELS so secluded because it is so peaceful and quiet (not to mention surrounded by beautiful trees and wildlife) but it is still close to downtown, the zoo/aquarium, and lots of great dining and shopping!
I am so grateful to have found this little gem and should my family and I ever come back out to Pittsburgh we WILL rent this property again.
Thank you again Diane for a wonderful, relaxing vacation. I can feel the tremendous pride of ownership and love in your home and we hope to return!
Warm Regards, The Martin Family, Ronnie, Nicole & Shelby
It's the second time we came at Pittsburgh, and we wanted to stay again in this beautiful cabin. Well located in Fox Chapel, 20 minutes from downtown and the Greater PGH to discover, our choice was easy to make.
My conclusion is : Recommended !
I was in Pittsburgh to celebrate my mom's 77th birthday. She lives in a small apartment so having her stay with me in this comfortable cabin made the weekend relaxing and fun. We were able to enjoy our time together without the stress of traveling back and forth from a hotel. Other relatives stopped by and we were able to catch up after quite a few years. :)
The cabin was clean, well maintained and well stocked. The weather was beautiful, so we spent a good bit of time outside on the deck overlooking the pond.
Diane was welcoming and available. She checked in, without being intrusive, to see if we needed anything.
The accessibility for my mom, who cannot do stairs anymore, was also great. The front entry is one small step. There is a second floor, but there was no need for her to need to go there.
I travel to Pittsburgh frequently and will definitely stay here again!
Thank you, Diane, for a wonderful experience!
We enjoy a lot our stay in this cabin. Located in Fox Chapel, with its forests and beautiful houses, and near downtown .It's easy to visit the Greater Pittsburgh from there.
The cabin is very pleasant, very calm. You got the feeling to be alone in nature. The cabin is a very nice place for a family in holidays. We hope to return there.
We enjoyed the cozy and clean cabin. Diane was very considerate and had a lot of food, juice, coffee, and milk around for breakfast. We made burgers on the grill that was in the garage. Before we got there we thought we might go to Pittsburg sometime throughout the weekend but we found it so relaxing at the cabin that we never left til we checked out. I would recommend the cabin to anyone who is looking for a cozy and relaxing getaway.
Excellent accommodations - lovely space for my family :) The refrigerator was stocked as was the pantry with several breakfast options (cereal, milk, yogurt, pastries, bananas, apples, among others). The internet available is via hotspot, but this met our needs easily. It's about 20 minutes outside of Pittsburgh, tucked away in a quiet area, but close enough to enjoy all of the big city attractions.
