We rented this cute little cabin for a long weekend in Pittsburgh. The cabin is very clean and well stocked. I was very happy to find a good brand of coffee and fresh half and half! The cottage has a cool vintage vibe and is in a nice, quiet area. Diane responds to texts and emails very promptly.
A wonderful cabin on the hill! Tidy cabin is set in the Pennsylvania hills 20-30 mins from downtown Pittsburgh (depending on traffic, it can be faster!). We stayed here while attending a conference at the convention center and it was a wonderful escape from the craziness of downtown! Open views, and our dog loved running up and down the hill to play fetch. It was just like being at home even when in a strange city and it was great to be able to cook our own dinners. Our hostess stocked us with delicious treats for breakfast. Definitely recommend staying here and would do so again!
We arrived on Friday evening to find this beautiful cabin ready for our arrival. It is spotless and had everything we needed. It is set back off the road and when you are sitting on the deck, you are in another world-it is so serene. We were looking for a quiet, relaxing weekend and we got it! We grilled, took a nature walk, and just enjoyed some quiet time with no distractions. Diane was an amazing host and was very accommodating. We will definitely be back by the fall!
This cabin is a hidden gem. It sits on a wooded lot with a great view of a pond and old oak trees from the back porch. On the edge of Fox Chapel, it's far enough removed from Downtown to relax and enjoy the outdoors, but still just a 15-20 minute drive to attractions like the Pittsburgh Zoo, PNC Park and more.
It has a yard for kids and dogs to enjoy, and we made use of the fire ring and grill for a picnic with family and friends. Our host, Diane, stocked the house with a continental breakfast, and was helpful and available throughout our stay.
This cabin was the perfect meeting place for a girls weekend with friends. Quiet, clean, beautiful surroundings. And Diane was a fantastic hostess, leaving goodies and breakfast items for us. We loved it!
I don't even know where to begin. From start to finish everything was perfect. Diane, the owner, was incredibly easy and a pleasure to work with. Since I manage a vacation property myself, I have EXTREMELY high expectations when renting other vacation rentals. Diane met all of our expectations and then some. She came over to meet and greet us the next day and just couldn't have been sweeter. She was very attentive, made sure all of our needs were met and answered our questions before leaving. She lives right up the hill from the cabin so it was nice knowing she was close by in case we needed anything.
When we arrived after 8 hours of traveling we were all exhausted. We arrived to find the fridge totally stocked with breakfast items, cereal, milk, OJ, little chocolates on the table and more. The kitchen has everything you need to cook with and is very well-equipped!
The home was very well stocked with lots of blankets, extra pillows (huge plus for me since I am 5 months pregnant!), books, magazines, BBQ, children's toys, extra toilet paper, and more! The basement also has a full sized washer and dryer which came in very handy after a couple muddy family hikes! Diane provides plenty of detergent and dryer sheets as well.
Our four year old was extremely comfortable up in the loft. She felt like the Queen of Sheba having it all to herself at night! she loved all the children's books available to read.
This cabin is also in a wonderful location! I had no idea the Fox Chapel area (where this cabin is located) is more of an upscale part of Pittsburgh. That's not what appealed to me though. What we loved is that this cabin FEELS so secluded because it is so peaceful and quiet (not to mention surrounded by beautiful trees and wildlife) but it is still close to downtown, the zoo/aquarium, and lots of great dining and shopping!
I am so grateful to have found this little gem and should my family and I ever come back out to Pittsburgh we WILL rent this property again.
Thank you again Diane for a wonderful, relaxing vacation. I can feel the tremendous pride of ownership and love in your home and we hope to return!
Warm Regards, The Martin Family, Ronnie, Nicole & Shelby
