Charming beach home located just steps from the ocean. Situated in the desirable East Beach community, on a large beachfront home site, with ample lawn space for children's games. Offering 7 bedrooms and 5 baths, this home is ideal for a large family or several couples. Though this home is oceanfront, ocean views are obstructed by the natural dune line with the exception of the top floor bedroom. *Weddings and other functions are strictly prohibited. No pets, No smoking, No student groups, No parties or wedding events. Bedding: 2 Kings, 2 Queens, 3 Doubles, 2 Twins.

Pool dimensions are 35' x 12'

Each reservation is subject to

The property manager was very helpful.

Location was tremendous. The house had numerous dead roaches appear throughout the stay. The house only had two TV'S which was surprising for the size of the house. Patio furniture, bikes and beach accessories were in poor quality and condition. Rental company and leasing agent were fabulous and great to work with.

Several Issues Detracting from a Good House

This is a good house, but the home had several issues that detracted from our stay. We have been vacationing on SSI for 27 years and stayed in many different homes, but the verdict is still out whether we would stay here again, particularly for the price vs. what we received. These are the pros/cons we feel renters should know about for this home.

Pros:

- Great pool, with lots of shade and a great view

- Great kitchen - very well equipped

- Bedrooms are very large and spacious and so are the bathrooms.

- Guest house is very spacious and nice if mom/dad want to have their own space

- Great location and access to the beach

Cons:

- The house can sleep 14, but there is not enough room for 14 people to congregate together. The kitchen table can only seat 8, and there were not even 8 chairs inside for everyone. There are 2 separate living rooms, but neither has enough furniture for everyone to be together unless you rearrange it. Disappointed that we could not all sit together at dinner and something we expected for the price.

- Stained/rip sheets; broken beds - Several of the sheets and quilts were visibly stained. They had been washed, but a little gross with how stained they were. The bed in the guest house is broken - the frame supports are splintered and made the bed very uncomfortable. Sheets were also ripped, and no hot water in the sink for the guest house.

- Several of the light bulbs were burnt out and we had to go around the house finding bulbs that worked for the bedside lamps.

- Grill had food/aluminum foil leftover from the previous guests. The heat distributors are rusted out and the grill had obviously not been cleaned/taken care of in a while.

- Extra bed in the laundry room isn't really a bedroom. It was a mattress tossed on the floor with the headboard and footboard taken apart and leaned up against the wall. Ceiling is very short in that room.

- Required cleaning fee is very expensive, especially for the lack of cleaning we experienced.

Neutral:

- Lots of frogs cover the doors at night from the grass area in front of the house (dozens). Not an issue for us, but could be if you don't like frogs.

- Not a lot of decorations throughout the house/not a very homey feel. We understand it is a rental property so we can't expect to have that, but not a beachy feel here if you want that.

Nice house, but for the total rental price and issues we had, much better value to be found on East Beach.

Perfect Vacation

We stayed in this home in June 2014. Let me first say, the pictures for this house do not do it justice. The rooms are all very spacious. The home is well maintained & clean. Plenty of room to spread out. There were plenty of beach chairs, toys & bikes to ride in the outside storage. We were here for our daughter's destination wedding & it could not have been a better experience. This home exceeded our expectations. We would recommend this home & we would absolutely stay here again. We had an age range of 84 years old down to 6 years old. This home was perfect for us!

Everything was GREAT!!

What can we say? Everything was great! The location was excellent. The accommodations were very clean and well maintained. Our month long "working vacation" was possible because of the high speed internet access. Work in the morning - play the rest of the day. What a life! We would highly recommend this home to anyone and we plan to return again next year.

We loved this house!!!

My daughter and grandchildren joined me for the week of Labor Day at this lovely cottage on St. Simon's Island. It was very well equipped with everything you would need for your visit. It was situated in close proximity to the village, Neptune Park, and beach. We all loved the house and plan to return in the future. I would highly recommend this rental on the island.
