|Minimum Stay||7 nights|
Our cottage is your classic Cape Cod Beach House! Your own Private Beach is only 30' from the cottage. Enjoy swimming directly in front of the cottage in the warmest water (Mid to High 70's in Jul/Aug) on Cape Cod.
Enjoy the Breathtaking Sunsets while you have your dinner on the outside deck. From the deck, you'll have a 180 Degree View of the water and the blazing sunsets. Our cottage faces directly West, thus the sunset will be directly in front of you every night.
You can swim, fish, kayak and enjoy boating right in front of the cottage. If you own a boat, you can load and unload your boat right in front of the cottage. A fantastic destination for boating or kayaking is Bassett's Island, which is right off shore and can be reached by boat in just a few minutes. At the far end of the island, you'll find a beautiful sandy beach. This beach is an excellent beach for swimming and for taking long walks along the shoreline looking for that perfect piece of Sea Glass!
Nature lovers will thoroughly enjoy exploring the many salt marshes and observing the vast variety of water fowl. One of the highlights each summer, is watching the Osprey circling up above and then diving straight down and pulling a fish out of the water with their talons! This goes on all summer and it is absolutely spectacular to watch.
The cottage is located almost at the end of a dirt road peninsula. There are only ten cottages on the peninsula. The neighbors are all great! All of them would be most receptive to answer any questions you might have regarding taking Sightseeing Trips, the area's best Restaurants and where to Shop. The cottage will also have a Vacation Guide for you to browse that will give you a vast amount of information regarding where to go and what to do.
Saltmarsh Lane is a very quiet and safe street. There is very little traffic. The neighborhood is an Excellent area for walking, jogging and biking. You'll enjoy seeing all the classic Cape Cod cottages as you travel throughout the area. Pocasset is one of the top Family destinations on Cape Cod. It is a very beautiful, quaint and safe little oceanfront village. Another major attraction of Pocasset is that it is only 1.5 hours from Boston and ten minutes from the Bourne Bridge!
Within just a five minute drive of the beach house, you'll find many great destinations! The kids will love Cartwheels. This amusement complex has Go Carts, a Bounce House, Bumber Boats, Mini Golf and a Batting Gage. There is also a great playground and Tennis Courts right next to the Pocasset Market. Golfing enthusiasts will love playing at the Brookside Golf Club. The seven mile bike path along the Cape Cod Canal and the Shining Sea Bike Path are great scenic venues for biking excursions. The famous Lobster Trap and Chart Room restaurants are within a five minute drive from the beach house as well.
If you want to venture out just a little bit further, the Town of Falmouth is just a 15-20 minute drive away. In Falmouth, you'll find many shopping opportunities, great restaurants and a movie theater. Woods Hole is nearby as well. In Woods Hole, you'll can hop on a ferry to either Martha's Vineyard or Nantucket! The kids will love visiting the Woods Hole Aquarium as well.
My family owned another waterfront property in Pocasset since 1900. In the late 1970's, the home slipped out of the family when my Grandmother passed away. It was a very sad time. I had spent the first 25 Summers of my life enjoying this 'Slice of Heaven'. Fortunately, we were able to purchase our current Beach House in 1990. Our family has enjoyed many, many very happy summers there ever since!
Owner/Manager purchased this cottage in 1990
Our Beach House has, 'Location, Location, Location' as realtors always tell their clients when recommending a home to purchase. In my opinion, our beach house has it all!
From our great location you can: Swim, Boat, Kayak, Jet Ski, Water Ski, Go Tubing, Walking, Jogging and Biking.
You'll also enjoy the Best Sunsets on Cape Cod and the Warmest Water on the Cape (Mid to High 70's in July/Aug)!
I would have given five stars here except for the sleeping accommodations and part of the furniture. The only two large beds were futons. And the living room couch cushions should be re-uphusltered or upgraded to a new couch. For the price being asked, this was a disappointment and the only thing that would keep us from renting again next year. It is not a cheap rental and you are really paying for the location. (which is stunning!) None of the adults with us had a good nights sleep...a real bummer on vacation.
If you have kids I recommend packing more clothing than you need. There is no washer dryer. I missed that in the description. We sent a bag to the local laundromat for $33. Not ideal on a vacation. The house did have plenty of towels, but again with kids, we went through all the ones we brought and half of theirs since you can't keep them clean.
The area has a ton to do for all ages. The owners were really lovely and helpful. You will not believe the sunsets. It is an amazing little piece of the world. Perhaps they'll make some upgrades for next year. It was a wonderful week other than the above notes.
We absolutely loved this house. The photos of the scenery do not do it justice. This is a slice of heaven! Charlie and Kathy were lovely and so helpful. They neighbours were a delight and very kindly let use their kayaks.
The house is small but we never felt on top of each other. There was always a quiet spot to go to. We also loved the outdoor shower!
If you are looking to get away from it all this is the place for you. A beautiful part of the world and we were very sad to leave.
The house is small and so is the beach, but this is a really great place to stay. You'll wake up overlooking a gorgeous little bay that you can swim in (bring water shoes!). You'll watch seagulls drop oysters on the rocks, and hawks teach their babies to fly. The sun sets over the water and then the thousands of stars come out. We had fires every other night and drank wine and looked at the stars.
The house is simple and cozy, so don't stay there with people you dislike. Pocasset is a very small town, but it's easy to get to and easy to get to the bigger beaches further down the cape. It's clean and the owners are helpful and easy to communicate with.
Tips: Rent bikes in Bourne and bike down the Cape Cod Canal. The best lobster prices? Steam them yourself and eat them with fresh corn on the little deck. Can't be beat.
We drove 5 hours from New York to get to this Slice of Heaven. As soon as we all got out of the car, we ran to the water's edge (Only 30 feet away!) and couldn't believe the incredible view! The cottage itself was so quaint and cozy. Every room has a great water view. We loved the layout of the cottage. It had a very open feel to it. We brought our boat with us and loved the boat ramp right down the street. It is very easy to cruise through the Cape Cod Canal and shoot out to Martha's Vineyard from this location. Buzzard's Bay has many great destinations for cruising. We ate all our meals on the deck overlooking the beautiful harbor. We have seen great sunsets before, but the sunsets from this deck might be the best! We biked the Cape Cod Canal (Great Bike Path along the entire 7 Mile length of the Canal) several times. You can also drive just 5 miles to North Falmouth and pick up the Shining Sea Pike Path and bike all the way down to Woods Hole. Absolutely beautiful! You'll love the little village of Pocasset. It looks like how Cape Cod is suppose to look! Don't forget to eat at the Lobster Trap! We plan on renting this beach house again this summer. We loved the fact that you can swim right in front of the beach house. We can't wait for the summer!

When you vacation here, you're just steps away to the water and your own beach. The house isn't real big, but it is so easy to maintain.....exactly what you want when you vacation! Our family loved the gentle and constant breeze. Our kids lived in the water! This is a great location for swimming, snorkeling, kayaking and any other type of boating. We hope to vacation there again real soon!

This beach house is so Private, but it is so close to everything! The location is absolutely amazing! My family loved swimming every day right in front of the house. The water was so warm! We loved to Kayak around the bay and around Bassett's Island. The island is so beautiful and a great place to swim and walk the shoreline looking for sea glass. My family has vacationed all over the Cape, but we have never seen Sunsets like you can see from this property! We had most of our meals on the outside deck overlooking the bay, but if you want to venture out a little bit, there are great restaurants like the Chart Room and the Lobster Trap just a couple of miles away. The Corner Cafe, only about a mile away, is a fabulous place for breakfast. We walked and biked all around the neighborhoood. It was a very safe place for our kids (5,8 &11). The neighbors were great! The owners, Kathy and Charlie, made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our vacation. We can't wait too get back there! I would recommend this beach house to anyone who is seeking the ultimate vacation paradise!
