This 5 acre homestead was built in 1978, and became the home of J B and Louise Spradley They lovingly cared for it, providing a place where family, extended family and friends could gather. It is still used for gatherings by the family to this day. A red barn can be seen across the pond, where ducks return year after year. Take a stroll around the property, sit and enjoy nature in one of the sitting areas. Louise often referred to this place as 'The Farm', and the family picked up the phrase and today you can often here someone say, 'I'm going to The Farm.'
With the large back yard and dining room, 'The Farm' has been used for weddings, family reunions and church gatherings. It is ideal for a vacation home or as a retreat for small groups.

My husband Tom and I have been married for 53 years. We have 3 children, 15 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren, One of my greatest pleasures is having my family come over. We use the main house, the one you will be staying in, as a gathering place for our 'Family Time. Another is sharing this place with others. You can often find me outside puttering around in the yard or on the lawn mover.
BEVERLY CROUCH purchased this house in 1978
I, Beverly Spradley Crouch, am the second generation owner of 'The Farm' .My dad literately purchased this land from the court house steps and built the house himself. As my parents health declined, my husband Tom and myself, moved onto the property. My dad, built the main house, pond, waterfall, bridge and landscaped the property. All after the age of 62!
One of his desires was to have a place where his family, friends and church family could gather and enjoy each others company. Both Louise and JB loved to have people around them. Their grandchildren and great grandchildren spent many hours at 'the Farm' building lifetime memories. Now we are sharing it with others as well.
Upon entering the drive way, you will see a swing hanging from a limb of a Live Oak the JB planted when he purchased the property. Rockers are on the front porch, for those who want to rock away their day. For those winter months, a wood burning fire place can be found in the main living area. Whether having a meal inside or out, you can see the pond and all the activities of the outdoors. Squirrels chasing each other, hawks gliding by, or a red cardinal feeding from one of the feeders. You can take a walk out back, sit in the gazebo, or walk the short meditation trail where you will find another tree swing. The red barn out back and the old fence is a good picture spot for those who want a real country background.
A children's play area can be found in the back yard. Pitch some horseshoes out front or shot a basketball. For a larger group, volleyball is available.

This house has everything you could possibly need or imagine. The owners are very sweet and accommodating. The home itself is beautiful and the outdoor living in amazing. We had a small family wedding and it was perfect for the bride and groom and their 50 guests. We would stay here again and again!
We loved our stay! The property is gorgeous, the owner is very nice, and everything was clean and comfortable. I would recommend it to anyone who wants a peaceful getaway.
Its almost impossible to fully explain how great this rental is. Fully stocked is a huge understatement , we hosted my daughters HS Graduation party for 60plus quests and literally only had to bring food and decorations, every thing else was there, every possible serving item you could ever need and more.
The property fully accommodated our out of town quests , with room to spare.. The kids used full roll away beds and set up in the game room.
The "Farm "is super clean, beautiful sprawling back yard oasis , covered porch with tables and ceiling fans ..Beverly and Tom are beyond wonderful and easy to work with. If you need a place to put quests for any of the Mansfield High School graduations , the property is 5minutes from the venue. Movie theater , shopping and loads of restaurants 5 minutes (try Cha-Chas Mexican ). The "Farm" is worth every penny. We will rent again. Also super close to Fort Worth and Dallas .
Thank you Beverly and Tom
Our quests loved your wonderful retreat
This place is gorgeous! I am so glad I was able to have my wedding here! Everyone loved how beautiful and spacious it was. The kids really enjoyed the game room!
The Farm was certainly a beautiful getaway, so relaxing and peaceful that we had to book another day. The farm accommodated our family in everyway possible. We loved how it was tucked away in a country setting yet so close to everything we needed. I would definitely recommend The Farm to my family and friends. If your looking for a beautiful peaceful vacation get away this is the perfect place to stay.
Thank you to The Crouch Family such lovely people.
The Crouch family has made a place available that was not only a great place to stay with our family, but had all the amenities and furnishings we needed to host the rehearsal dinner for our son's wedding.
The house and grounds are beautiful, clean, and very well maintained, with play areas for our grand children both outdoors and in.
Access to the shopping required in Mansfield is convenient, and there was plenty of parking for our dinner guests without having to do the "could somebody let me out" shuffle.
We could not find even the smallest thing to be critical about during our stay, and if the need (or excuse) ever arises again, this is where we intend to stay.
Many thanks to the Crouch family for their hospitality and a wonderful experience.
