I am a realtor, but more importantly I am a father of two children Christopher and Bianca, who are my world.
We have spent a lot of time together on Jekyll Island. This house is a family built property from the 1950's and one of the first homes constructed after the island was purchased by the State of Georgia.
Rick Germano purchased this cottage in 1957
Our family has spent countless vacations on sunny Jekyll Island, Georgia. this house has been passed down through three generations of family, and we have shared many joyous memories together at this property that are incomparable. The scenery on Jekyll is serene and beautiful.
This prime ocean front cottage has breath taking views of sunrises, miles of sandy beaches, and shady oak trees. There is nearby golfing, biking, restaurants, shopping, and other activities. Front yard 9on the Ocean side) is great for family gathers and memories to last a lifetime.

First impression upon arrival was, "THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT WE WANTED IN A BEACH HOUSE!" Our family of 19 (including small children and infant), enjoyed our stay and no one wanted to leave.
The view was perfect and outside under the canopy of trees with the ocean breeze was enjoyable. No one wanted to stay inside. We had the opportunity to feed a deer from the yard. Bike riding is so easy to ride around the island.
We will definitely rent again next year and the year after, and after. Rick was a perfect owner always responding immediately to all by inquiries. I have and would recommend to my friends and family.
Our family of 8 enjoyed a week in the house. This home isn't fancy but it is very comfortable with views of the ocean in every room. All floors are tile or wood except master bedroom so you don't have to worry about sand and soil. We stayed in side 7B which is on the left hand side of the picture. Everything is provided except bed sheets (there are the comforters and mattress covers as shown on the beds) towels, and paper products. The 2 bathrooms are small as typical in older homes but the commodes were in difficult places. There is a path over some rocks to the beach on one side or two backyards down there is an official public access stairs to the beach. I did not actually see or get a direct address for this place. I looked again to make sure and I did not find it. I had trouble finding the address. Also, since Jekyll Island is a state park, a pass has to be paid everytime you return into the park each day. I was not aware of this until I drove into the park going to the beach house on Saturday. I did not mind paying, but I did not like finding out at the last minute. I have rented beach houses before in a state park and the landlady sent us a park pass. Enjoyed the beach house, island, and the beach but I thought the lack of a stated address (I kept seeing 7A and 7B but at no time did I see the street Brice,) and state park payment was not good.
Our whole family of 8 can't wait to go back next year! This home isn't fancy but like a vacation home that has been in the family for years. It's quirky (not everything is perfect) but comfortable with views of the ocean in every room. All floors are tile or wood except master bedroom so you don't have to worry about sand or spills and the furniture is durable (read young kids!) My husband, I and 6 kids never felt like we were crowded in. We stayed in side 7A which is on the right hand side of the picture. Everything is provided except bed sheets (there are the comforters and mattress covers as shown on the beds) towels, and paper products. The 2 bathrooms are small as typical in older homes but storage is EVERYWHERE. There is a path over some rocks to the beach on one side or two backyards down there is an official public access stairs to the beach. You could hear the surf at night and at dusk each evening there are several deer that walk up waiting for you to feed them. This house is very close to shops on the beach in one direction and the driftwood beach in the other. I can't think of a reason to stay anywhere else when you come to Jekyll Island my kids want us to buy this place and live here year round!
Loved the location! Quiet road very close to the little grocery store and gift shops. The half bath downstairs needs a new door, and the full size bed upstairs makes very loud noises when you move in it at all. There is a path that you walk down to the beach on the other side of front lawn which is very close to the beach, but you have to climb over some big rocks right when you get to the beach. There is a little bit of beach even when the tide is high. Again loved the location on the island! Driftwood Beach is beautiful and a great photo spot and the Driftwood Bistro has wonderful, reasonably priced seafood! There are 2 brick steps going from the kitchen to the living area that we had to watch our toddlers very closely on. There is a king, 2 doubles and one twin beds on side 7B where we were. You have to walk through the downstairs bedroom with one double and one twin bed to get inside from the parking spots.
Ocean Front property with breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean. The front yard is facing the ocean, and has a canopy of live oak trees hundreds of years old. There is a private walkway to the beach that is a pleasant stroll under the oaks. The house is a very short distance to shopping, restaurants, golf fishing and swimming.
