Modern home on 3.2 acres of beautiful wooded property that will get you in vacation mood the moment you drive in on a long winding driveway to get to the waterfront home situated on the Lower Mill Pond. Serene and very private! And the mid-Cape location is such that you will be avoiding the worst on-Cape traffic to get there. The perfect setting for active lifestyle or peaceful contemplation complete with high-quality furniture and amenities. Swim in the pond or kayak in the provided 2 adult and 2 kids' kayaks and a canoe or the beach is a 1.5 mile bike ride from provided 2 adult, a tag-alone bike and 2 kids bicycles. After a day at the beach or the pond, come back to play pool or ping-pong in the basement or watch a movie on WiFi-connected large flat screen TV. Whether you want to dine in top Zagat rated restaurants, grab gourmet sandwiches or visit a seafood shack, buy some beer/wine, take horse-riding lessons or hike in the 900 acre wilderness, you will enjoy the convenience of having amazing places between 3 to 10 minutes away from what is otherwise your own private sanctuary!
When you stay in our home, you will notice the care with which we have selected everything from dishes to designer fixtures to the Restoration Hardware lounging couch in the sun-room that offers amazing vistas in the mornings and beautiful sunsets in the evenings. Beautiful sun-room is also connected to a deck where you can sip the perfect cup of coffee brewed from freshly ground coffee in the morning or grill in the evening. There is also a covered porch that comes in handy if rain must keep you away from the pond or the beach. Although we have provided free high speed WiFi and an office complete with desk and printer for your use, this is one place you will want to be completely unplugged.
Between 3 bedrooms and a beautiful large side room (with 3 Frontgate queen airbeds), the home can easily accommodate 8 guests. Open design with no clutter and high ceilings never make you feel claustrophobic and you can find a place if you want to have a space for yourself for a little while. Master Bedroom is on the ground floor with a small desk and chair and is attached to a full bath that can also be accessed from the entryway. Upstairs has two bedrooms and a full bath. And then there is an enclosed outdoor shower with running hot water. Large room on the side with bay windows has a game table along with a desk and printer (and 3 Front gate Airbeds with Constant Comfort pumps). Home has central A/C but we hardly find the need to use it as the beautiful breeze from the pond and open surroundings keeps the home at just the right temperature. The living room, sun room, the large side-room also have extremely quiet fans. Kitchen is well-furnished with quality appliances, dishes and utensils.
We are providing 4 (2 adult, 2 kids) bicycles and a tag-along bike, 4 kayaks (2 adult, 2 kids) with 4 life-vests and a Canoe for your enjoyment but of course we expect you to be responsible for your own safety. Pond is connected to (not seen in maps) two other ponds offering several hundred acres of kayaking. Or you and kids can choose to swim in the pond that is famous for its herring population. Linens, towels, beach towels, high quality beach umbrella and chairs are all provided for guest convenience.
We would love to welcome you to our summer home and have an amazing unforgettable vacation!
We have been in the Boston area for 20 years and, despite the unpredictable weather, love it! Everything - educational institutions, culture, multi-ethnicity, energy and, of course, the Cape. We welcome you to be a, albeit fleeting, part of our journey by being our guests at our home.
Amol Joshi purchased this house in 2012
A group of 8 of us (4 couples) stayed at this lovely home over the week of the 4th of July. The instructions and information left by the host were perfect, and we had no problems getting into the home and getting situated. Many of the homes in the area tend to have a vaguely antiquated, old beachy feel, but we loved the clean, airy decor of this new rental. Everything felt new and modern but still cozy and warm. Exactly what we were going for.
The house itself is deceptively large, with a main floor that has a large kitchen/dining area, a master bedroom with adjoining bathroom that also opens to the kitchen, a good-sized living area with cathedral ceilings, a wonderful and cozy sunroom (where we spent a lot of time), a large office or bedroom, laundry nook, garage, and the main patio/deck area overlooking the water. The upstairs had another bathroom, and two bedrooms, one with bunk beds for sleeping more people. On the first level, there was a great basement room for watching TV (or World Cup soccer, as we found), a large pool table/ping-pong unfinished room, and a lovely painting studio that opens to the outdoor lower patio.
The grounds are gorgeous. There are tons of flowers and plants around the house, and the house sits on a beautiful pond with canoes and kayaks for guests. Our friends used them several times and loved it.
The kitchen was very well equipped, and we found that we didn't even need much of the stuff we brought because they had pretty much everything we needed. We made almost all our meals there, and there were a few nearby fruit stands, seafood markets and meat markets to pick up fresh food.
During our week-long stay, the owner was very responsive to any questions we had, and we'd definitely recommend staying here or with them again. We had been looking for a serene, convenient, nice space for our little reunion, and this proved to be a perfect spot. Highly recommended!
Beautiful home. Stunning floral landscaping. Everything needed for a great vacation is provided. Great place to relax with family/friends. Centrally located, mid-Cape. Five min. to Bay Beaches. 15/20 Min to National Seashore Coast Guard, Ocean Beach! Obvious that owners have put a lot of thought, care and love into this home. We certainly would go back!!
Staying right on the pond was a treat. The home was clean and bright. The provisions of linens and beach towels, chairs etc. made the packing process smoother for us. The kayak's were easy to use, and the rack provided to store them made it simple to get them out and put away. Favorite spot was the glassed in porch off the living room area overlooking the pond and yard. Perfect for morning coffee or evenings reading a book. We never used the TV area since we were busy doing other things but the set up looked great with two new couches. There were only 4 of us but the home had 2 nice Frontgate blowup beds which could have allowed for more guests quite comfortably.
Beautiful secluded home on wooded lot, looks out over a wonderful waterfront view. When we arrived Amol had made sure that all the little things were taken care of - the house had everything we could have thought to bring so we didn't have to. Any questions we had were answered promptly and we didn't have any worries. All you need is your groceries and you are set! Our children loved swimming and kayaking in the pond and spent hours playing with some of the games at the house. Amol also provided a binder of local recommendations. We got Kate's ice cream and bagel's at JoMamas, and we visited the local beaches. We even took the kids to a nearby Museum of Natural History (they loved it). Central location on the Cape is a plus also. Even if you choose to just stay in, this rental comes highly recommended. Would not hesitate to stay here again.
Memories made ,great family get away .We stayed at this place with my family and my husband's brother family visiting us right before the July long weekend .Everyone enjoyed and loved the house , great views overlooking the pond ,flowers were in full bloom in the garden , could hang out in the deck or the sunroom and when it rained pool table was good resource for indoor activity .Spacious, airy ,with all modern furniture and amenities ,tastefully decorated .
Amol was reachable by text when needed if any questions .He paid attention to a great detail in the house to make the stay comfortable .Our family loved outdoor activities including the kayaking , biking and spending the day in the beach . Kayaks and life jackets , beach chairs , bikes are all made available by the host which was great help .Proximity to the pond ,rail road , beaches ,and walking trails .
Brewster is located centrally so we could explore the Cape fully this time .Easy walk or bike to Paines creek beach to watch the sunset , eat at the restaurant close by , easy ride to Nickerson state park and the beaches .Could not ask for more .
Memorable time for the family vacation ,highly recommended place .Hope to be back again .
Our family of 5 enjoyed staying on this waterfront home. There was much to do to entertain the entire family from outdoor activities like canoeing to indoor games like pool and ping pong. The landscaping was spectacular. A wonderful home in the Cape. Owners were very attentive to make sure our accommodations were to our expectations.
Family of four plus Aunt stayed here for Memorial Day weekend, and loved it from the moment we walked in. The house is simply but comfortably furnished, with all that you need - and the use of table tennis, pool table, kayaks and bikes made for very happy children!
The view from the deck is wonderful, looking out over the glittering water of the pond - we had ospreys overhead everyday, and it was a real suntrap.
Amol couldn't have been a more considerate and accommodating host, exemplary communications which made everything easy.
We also found the location to be perfect - right in the heart of Cape Cod, with ample choice of beaches and restaurants nearby.
Wouldn't hesitate to recommend the house to friends and family, and hope to be back next year!
Property is located centrally on Cape Cod. Whilst you will enjoy many activities without the need to get off the property, getting to many attractions, famous restaurants or shacks is far easier than if you were in the Truro/Provincetown area to the North or Hyannis to the South East. The nearest Brewster beach - the Paines Creek beach - is just 1.5 miles (about 5 min driving) away and is one of the best beaches for kids. With central and convenient location, getting to other beaches on the bay or to the east or south is much easier than otherwise. The famous Cape Cod Museum of Natural history and the 900+ acre Punkhorn reservation (hiking) or take horse-riding or sailing lessons, play golf on public but fantastic 18-hole golf course, play on tennis courts and or get to the bike trail- it is all within 5 minutes driving distance of the property . Whether you have a foodie, a beach lover, water sports lover or nature lover in the family, there are plenty of places that will keep everyone happy and in their best of the moods for a fabulous vacation.
As for necessities - large and gourmet grocery stores, cinema or even hardware store are also within 6 miles drive.
Despite having everything accessible, you can very well choose to seclude yourself on our very private waterfront house that's set on 3.2 beautiful wooded acres and 500ft+ from the main paved road.
