Minnesota Cottage Rental Photos and Description

Large Lake Cottage, 4 Bedrooms, 3.5 Baths, (Sleeps 12)

Relax with family and friends enjoying the sunsets over Prior Lake! See our webpage at www.ladyloon.com

The Northern Loon Cottage has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms located on a private 3 acre estate w/ 340' of level lake frontage. This property has been in the previous family since before the turn of the century when Prior Lake was a horse and buggy resort town for the Twin Cities. The house was built in the 1950’s and is a charming Cape Cod style lake home built by an affluent lumber company family. This 3200+ square foot home has been fully renovated with modern amenities, but retains the true architectural point of the home. The home sits on level lake-shore 50 feet from the water. It has the most private 3 acres lot on the lake with 340 feet of south facing frontage. The cottage has a four season porch, large great room, gas fireplace, exquisite master suite/bath, 3 additional bedrooms and bathrooms. It includes Kayaks, paddle boat, paddle board, row boat, bikes, yard games and a private dock. We also have pontoon boat rental available from our private dock.

Prior Lake: This vacation home is located on the Northern side of Lower Prior Lake. Lower Prior Lake is 956 acres with a maximum depth of 60 feet. Upper Prior Lake is 386 acres with a maximum depth of 50 feet. Prior Lake is located in the City of Prior Lake in Scott County, Minnesota. It is connected to Lower Prior Lake to the northeast via a navigable channel that passes under Eagle Creek Ave. The lake is primarily managed for walleye and largemouth bass and secondarily managed for northern pike and bluegill. It is a wonderful recreational lake for any family to enjoy. There is a lakeside restaurant/pub with boat parking, boat rental and gas dock available on Prior Lake.

Cindy Langer, our top local vacation property manager, can be reached at 612-859-0806 to answer any questions. Lady Loon Property Management, LLC is a member of the Prior Lake Chamber of Commerce and listed with the Better Business Bureau.

Family Reunion time

  • 5 of 5

This was a perfect location with all the amenities one can imagine!! Ping pong, fussball, games, bicycles, paddle boat, kayaks, rowboat, ...we all just wanted to hang out and spend time together. ...we had no desire to worry about dinners out and dressing up. The house has a fully equipped kitchen which made it easy to whip up gourmet meals. It also has several cozy eating areas to accommodate the mood and the crowd. We had a huge bonfire , roasted marshmallows for s'mores, and told some great stories too. Although the weather was mixed during our stay, our group of adults and kids always had fun activities to occupy our time. We still can't believe our good fortune at finding such a perfectly suited spot. The owners truly went the extra mile in ensuring our maximum comfort and enjoyment. Maybe repairing the upstairs creaky floorboards would keep things a bit more quiet for the guests. We would love to live in this perfect paradise!!

Family Stay for Fall Wedding

  • 5 of 5

This home turned into the perfect home away from home for our large family in town for our daughter's wedding at the BayView Event Center. We were able accommodate a large combined family bridal shower as well as the beginning of the bachelorette party with painting/wine on the patio. We also had the rehearsal dinner (cookout) at the house as well. The spacious master bath turned into the bridal party's hair, make up and getting dressed area on wedding day. We enjoyed the view, spaciousness of the home, pontoon boat, kayaks, fishing, foosball and ping pong tables, tantam bike, games outside and inside, hammock, fire pit, and wonderful screened room. The home's location was convenient to local shopping (Walmart, Sam's Club) and lots of places to eat out even though having a fully stocked kitchen made cooking/eating in much more convenient/economical. We will definitely recommend this place to our friends and family plus if we all decide to come to visit the newlyweds at the same time, we know where to stay! {Recommend owners check slow oven heating and add a few more kitchen towels.} Loved having the washer/dryer and thanks for new oven light bulb!

Owner's Response: We are so happy everything went well for your daughters wedding. The weather was fabulous for the big day too! I have scheduled a service call for the oven to check out the heating element. Also, fyi...additional kitchen towels are stored in the lower cabinet next to the refrigerator, but we will add more for future guests. I hope we hear from your family again for another visit. Congratulations to the newlyweds!!!!

family reunion with room to run

  • 5 of 5

Came over Labor Day weekend for a wedding and cousins' get-together. Great times were had by all. The location is easy to get to, and having a huge wide yard right at lakeside is idyllic. The screened room helped keep the bugs away so folks could play in the evenings. The house could use some updating -- no overhead lighting in the living room, very poky oven and clothes washing machine, but no one cared about that much, as everything WORKED and the home was perfectly well appointed. The lake was excellent for kayaking and pontoon boating (and very busy with motorists), but unfortunately you can't really swim off the dock due to thick weeds. All in all, a fabulous place and lovely owners.

Owner's Response: Thanks for staying with us. A service call is scheduled for the oven to check the heating element. We also have scheduled a weed application for late summer next year. The early summer treatment had been very effective. We continue to make cottage improvements as our 3 season porch is new this year. We will note your suggestion for living room overhead lighting or add additional lamps. I am glad you all enjoyed your stay at this quintessential Minnesota Lake Cottage.

We visit every year! After your first visit, you'll know why!

  • 5 of 5

My extended family spends a week here every year. We have kids from ages 5 to 20 and they all love it! There is more than enough for them to do with the provided kayaks and the nightly ping-pong tournaments. The adults spend time reading in the shade on the hammock and cooking in the fully stocked kitchen. The house is at water level, which is important for us to watch the younger ones play in the water. The house really lends itself to spending quality time with each other and has the space to keep us from driving each other crazy:)

Intimate Family Reunion

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I are from the Chicago area and rented this house for a daughter's wedding, who lives in Minneapolis. We have 4 other grown children, all with life-partners and some grand kids, who live all over the country. We rented this home, hoping to spend some rare quality time with them around and between wedding festivities, and like all previous reviews note, this property did not disappoint! Spacious, quiet and private, yet close to everything. Stocked with games, equipment and activities- something to occupy everyone, regardless of weather conditions. 2 of our 4 days there we had excellent weather so we were able to take out the pontoon boat- a dock and lift conveniently on the property- and cruise beautiful Lake Prior. Afternoons and evenings were spent playing volleyball, ping pong, fishing, sitting around the fire pit and just enjoying the lake views from almost all the windows and the not-soon-to-be forgotten 3 season porch. All land and water equipment were in excellent condition. We even held a wedding party gathering at the house of about 40 people on one evening that the house and property easily accommodated! Dealing with property owner, Cindy was a dream. She made sure we could find everything we needed and had the house ready upon our arrival. We will be back!

P.S. The master suite is also a lovely surprise!

Fantastic Place To Stay

  • 5 of 5

We rented this property for a week for a family reunion and thoroughly enjoyed our time here. The house is large and clean with all the amenities that we were looking for. The lakefront setting is an added bonus and we spent lots of time outside enjoying the view and taking advantage of the boat and kayaks. Several evenings were spent out at the fire pit with guitar in hand. If you want a large, clean house with a great yard and quick access to the Prior Lake area and Minneapolis, this is the place for you.
