The Ultra Modern Garden Apartment is conveniently located just a 1 minute walk from the subway station, as it is right around the corner. From there, it only takes 10 minutes to reach Manhattan by subway.
This beautiful, modern, tastefully designed, one-bedroom garden apartment is located in Astoria, New York City. There are high quality, ultra modern, and mid-century modern furniture and fixtures throughout the apartment. At about 750 square feet, the apartment takes up the entire floor of the townhouse. There is also access to the garden.
The living room, dining room, and kitchen have an open-plan design. In the living room, there is a comfortable, modern sectional sofa and classic Saarinen lounge chair as well as a large flat-screen television with satellite tv atop an Eames shelving unit.
The beautiful modern kitchen is equipped with quality appliances and gadgets. Whether cooking a feast, preparing a simple meal, or ordering from one of the many wonderful nearby restaurants, there is the large dining table and classic Eames dining chairs where to enjoy a meal.
The spacious bedroom has a king size bed. The king size mattress is Tempur-Pedic, which provides a very therapeutic, rejuvenating rest. The mattress is atop a walnut bed with marble bedside tables and lantern-like lamps. There is also a large modern wardrobe and mid-century modern bench with pillows. The ceiling lighting is also mid-century modern.
For sleeping accommodations for the third and fourth guests, the sectional sofa can be used, as it splits into two pieces and forms a queen size bed when facing the two pieces towards each other. Alternatively, we have available a high quality queen size air mattress with a memory foam top.
We also have a pack 'n play (playard) for baby, available upon request.
The large spa-style bathroom has a soothing, therapeutic shower area, which includes a 10-inch rain showerhead and 6 shower jets. The bathroom also has beautiful zebrano wood cabinetry, a large mirror, and other attractive fixtures.
The door in the kitchen opens up to the large garden. This is a special treat -- to have an outdoor space in the city! In the garden, you will find a dining table, chairs, 2 lounge chairs, and umbrella. The garden is a nice place where to lounge with a morning coffee before a busy day or relax after spending the day in the high-energy city. Depending on the season, the garden has some flowers, herbs, vegetables, and fruit.
The neighborhood of Astoria is the most diverse area in New York City. You will find this special area to be very conveniently located to many shops, boutiques, markets, restaurants, cafes, bars, beer gardens, museums, parks, and any other establishment that one needs or wants to have nearby in an urban setting. Many restaurants in Astoria have been highly rated by the Zagat restaurant guide, recommended in the prestigious Michelin guide, and raved about in The New York Times. For you, our guest, is a large welcome booklet in the apartment to help you with your planning, which includes details such as an extensive list of restaurants in the area, many nearby markets, and a map of the area with key points. This booklet will help to immediately get you familiar with the area.
The apartment altogether is a truly wonderful space that is enjoyable to wake up, relax, eat, and sleep in. It is sunny and cheerful, clean, new, fresh, and will contribute plenty of happiness and wonderful memories to your holiday in New York City!
This an spectacular apartment with plenty of appliances. We had a really great time. it's safe and cozy. The bed is really comfortable. The only thing is that when you have guests on the upstairs apartment it could get really noisy if they stomp and drag things all over the apartment and the stairs.
Jessica is really sweet and caring. This is the second time I stay in this apartment. It really worths your money.
We very much enjoyed our week-long stay. The apartment was very attractive and bigger than expected, the kitchen and bathroom were well appointed. The location was very convenient for visiting Manhattan and there were lots of things to do in Astoria and Long Island City too. Thank you Jessica, we look forward to staying with you on our next visit to NYC.
We really enjoyed our stay at the apartment. The shower was amazing!! We felt safe in the neighborhood and loved how close and convenient the drug store was.
The apartment is nice and clean. Only problem we had is ,arrived at 10am and no where to leave our luggage till 3pm check in time . No air conditioner in the bed room when it's 90 Degrees and humid it's quite uncomfortable!
This place was really cute, clean and spacious. My partner and I got the week long unlimited ride subway pass, since the apartment was super close to the subway. We went everywhere with that thing! Coming back to the apartment was nice and relaxing, the couch was really comfy, the bed was a little soft for my liking but I also like an insanely firm bed. We felt safe in the area, and there is a Rite Aid down the street if you need anything super late at night it's there. We walked to breakfast most mornings, New York City Bagel & Coffee House, Brooklyn Bagel & Coffee Company, Sanfords all within a mile. The M and R located right around the corner get you to Manhattan in a few stops. We will definitely be coming back back to NY and would stay here again.
We just returned after 6 days in Astoria. The apartment was absolutley perfect for us and can thoroughly recommend it. Being a minute's walk from Steinway Station makes Manhattan very easily accessible, takes about 10 minutes, but staying around Astoria can also be recommended. There is a vast number of very good restaurants within walking distance from the apartment. The apartment is equipped to a very high standard with a large kitchen so preparing dinners at home is also very easy.
The weather during our stay was extremely hot, 40 degrees C (!) however the apartment remained cool throughout and sleeping on the very comfortable Tempur mattress was never a problem.
Having family leaving nearby in Astoria I'm sure we shall be looking forward to our next stay at the apartment.
Thanks foor everything, Jessica.
Astoria is located in the New York City borough of Queens, just over the Ed Koch Queensboro Bridge, also known as the 59th Street Bridge, which stretches over the East River from East Midtown Manhattan. This special neighborhood has a wonderful history, which includes being the location where Steinway & Sons, the finest piano company in the world, chose to build shop in 1853. The closest train station, named Steinway Street, where the M and R lines stop, is just a one minute walk from the apartment and will get you to East Midtown Manhattan in only 10 minutes. Astoria is a very lively area, which is heavily populated with restaurants, cafes, pastry shops, and has a vibrant nightlife. The Museum of Moving Image and Kaufman Studios is a 10 minute walk from the apartment. Also nearby are the Noguchi Museum, Socrates Sculpture Park, and the MoMA affiliated PS1 Museum.
