We love to spend time with family and friends in McCall. There is nothing better than a great day relaxing on Lake Payette or skiing or snow boarding at Brundage or cross country skiing at Ponderosa Park. Good restaurants and nightlife, too! A favorite winter dinner includes a snowshoe or ski out to the Blue Moon Yurt for a gourmet dinner and a star gazing ski back after dinner.
We fell in love with the beauty and warmth of McCall, Idaho. Our favorite thing about McCall is that there is no end to the activities around us in all seasons! We can be at Brundage skiing in 15 minutes or in town in 2 minutes for dinner or an outing on the Lake! We also love to relax in our beautiful and quiet home surrounded by pines! There is plenty of space to spend time together watching movies, cooking and enjoying big meals, games and good conversation. While we love winter and summer there is nothing better than the quiet of fall and spring. We enjoy taking long walks, hiking and soaking in the hot springs just outside McCall.
Located less than 5 minutes from Payette Lake, downtown McCall and Ponderosa State Park, this property suits all of your family needs and includes a 2 car garage and pull through driveway to accomodate trailers and toys.
We spent a weekend at this property with out of town relatives, and enjoyed the stay very much. Particularly we were impressed with the service from the agency which enabled a last-minute reservation and the property was very well-equipped for our needs. We've rented before through VRBO and this home had everything we needed for cooking family dinners, including a great weber grill which we used for a delicious steak dinner for everyone!
This was just perfect. It's a lovely location, nestled in the trees, feels private, and yet is close to everything. The "cabin" is a large house with everything. It was super clean and comfortable. We truly felt at home. We loved the fireplace and deck and trees.
We spent a week here at the end of September 2015 and could not have been more pleased with the comfort and accommodations afforded. The place was immaculate when we arrived. The house is spacious and warms quickly. The beds are comfortable and also warm. The outside deck is sunny and furnished. There is no 'roughing it' in this rental - it has all the necessities and luxuries of home - internet, cable, washer/dryer, dishwasher, fully appointed kitchen, plenty of dishes, cups, bowls, plates, towels, sheets and bedding. The central wood burning fireplace is easy to operate and maintain.
In addition to these comforts it's close to the town or McCall and its restaurants, shopping and Lake Payette. It's hard to imagine any person or group who wouldn't find this house and location perfect - even if you want to get away from all the amenities of the modern world, they're here or you can turn them off. It would be a great hub for an active vacation or a cozy retreat in the dead of winter.
My girlfriend and I spent two nights in the cabin as a rest stop on our road trip across the country. The house is spacious yet cozy, and the wood burning fireplace is an especially nice touch that made it hard for us leave! We were only 2 people, but this place would be great for a large group. Easily overlooked features like the ipod dock/speakers, washer/dryer, local hiking guides and fast wifi to name a few made our time that much more enjoyable. The cabin is very clean and, conveniently, walking distance from downtown McCall.
The owner/manager were very helpful and responsive in the weeks leading up to our trip and check-in/out was a breeze.
Lake Payette is picturesque, and the surrounding area was great for hiking and biking in the summertime. I'm going to have to find an excuse to come back next summer!
We were only here for two nights, and so my main complaint is that we weren't here longer! The house had everything we needed and then some: games, hiking guidebooks, fireplace, etc etc. Everything was clean and comfortable. AND, we were so close to everything that we wanted to do in McCall; eat, drink, hike, bike around the lake, soak up the general prettiness of it all. We were there during the summer, but this property is also ideally suited for the winter. I'd recommend it for anyone!
Who says October is the "off-season"? Beautiful fall colors, crisp walk along the lake, drive to Brundage to check it out pre-snow, prime seats at the window with lake views at Shore Lodge, little traffic, no lines at stores - October is my favorite time to visit McCall! And to top it off, this home is amazing! It was just the right time of year to start a small fire in the wood stove and sip a cup of coffee (coffee maker and grinder included) while reading over the many McCall travel books/pamphlets/brochures you had for your guests. Thanks for a beautiful weekend!
