We really enjoyed our time at the Valley View Ranch celebrating a 40th birthday and New Year's Eve. The property is absolutely beautiful and overlooks the valley and vineyards. We were so close to many wineries and had a fun day of wine tasting. The ranch itself is clean, cozy and warm and makes you want to never leave. We enjoyed cooking in the amazing kitchen and eating outside as the sun went down. Pam & Jon, the hosts were not only accommodating but very thoughtful and made sure our stay was a good one. We highly recommend staying at this property. Thank you for a wonderful weekend, we will be back!
Our family of 7 had a wonderful Christmas stay at the "Ranch". The home is well laid out with easy access to all rooms. Everything was well appointed and stocked appropriately. The huge living room itself with plenty of natural lighting and great views down the hill to the valley was our main "hang out". We used the wonderful and easy-to-use fireplace throughout our stay and kept us all nice and cozy. The big screen TV with the collection of DVD's and loaded movies made the one rainy day pleasurable! We are "foodies" and enjoyed cooking in the spacious kitchen with the great appliances and all the needed cooking utensils and accessories. The wine cooler was perfect for keeping the proper temps for our selection of reds and whites for our daily meals. For activities, in addition to the inside board games and puzzles, there was enough to keep all 3 generations happy and active. We held competitions on the Bocce ball court, the horseshoe pitching pit, and the 5 hole putting green--great family activities. The front property is huge and we all had fun playing in the yard and reading in the nice lounge chairs. In addition, we became acquainted with the 2 nubian pet goats, Guiness and Finley. Our two grandchildren enjoyed feeding them and petting them daily--very friendly goats! In the evening, we used the outdoor fire pit and roasted marshmallows and used the powerful telescope to gaze at the stars. We did venture out a few times to visit the wonderful Danish village of Solvang as well as several fine wineries within minutes of the home. Our host Pam and her husband were extremely friendly and gave us valuable tips on the area as well as insight to the origin of the home. It was a great family vacation holiday in which we all felt at home in the "Ranch". One of our top VRBO experiences of the past 2 decades!
My wife and I took our two young sons for Thanksgiving weekend. We had a blast. The house was beautiful, and the grounds were perfect. The kids loved feeding the goats every day, golfing on the putting green, and playing boche. We enjoyed BBQing outside, cooking in the fabulous kitchen, and watching movies on the huge TV. Everything we needed was there. We just brought our food, and never left, the property. We look forward to coming back.
We stayed here over Labor Day weekend with a group of two families with 3 kids including 2 toddlers. This property was perfect for us as it had plenty of room both inside and out for the kids to play as well as for the adults to enjoy. All the outdoor amenities were taken advantage of including the putting green, bocce ball and feeding the 2 friendly goats. The view is tremendous as well. The kitchen is first class and really has everything you might need. We used the grill and the fireplace outside which were great. Our hosts were very gracious in all regards including leaving us some fresh strawberries when we arrived. They also helped us figure out where to visit, where to eat and even found a babysitter for our kids. We loved the location as it was quite conveniently located to so many great places but it was also removed enough where you feel that you are truly on vacation. We will definitely be back and look forward to using the playground that will be set up shortly.
The ranch surpassed our expectations. Five ladies stayed for three nights to get a country ranch experience in the wine region near Santa Ynez. This house was a perfect blend of a relaxing home and a special location with everything we would need to feel like we were at home. The property's views were breathtaking. A special bonus were the two friendly goats who were so happy to see us and be fed. Pam was always ready to be contacted if needed. I would return again soon.
We stayed 4 days and really enjoyed the ranch. Everything is clean and all the finishes, furniture and appliances are high end. Owners were very friendly and great at recommending local attractions. The owners stay at the barn which shares the driveway with the house, so they are there if you need them, but you don't see them if you don't need them. Really enjoyed all the amenities. Appreciated all the extras provided that you don't see in all rentals such as: paper cups/plates/paper towels/spices/ and everything you need to cook. Thanks for a great stay!
Bocce Ball Court, Outdoor Chiminea (wood provided), 5-Hole Professional Putting Green, Horseshoes (all sporting equipment provided on-site), and plenty of games and puzzles to keep the young and old alike entertained. There are also two goats that are big characters and mighty friendly. We have a football and baseball bat with tennis balls for use on the 6,000 square foot front lawn that's large enough for a number of activities. La Purisma golf course and mission is less then one mile away ... AND, of course you have many, many wineries and fine dining establishments in the area for you to capture the full experience of this wine region.
