Nashville House Rental Photos and Description

Riverfront, Three Bedrooms, Two Bathrooms, Two Story Home With a Deck On River.

Please do not hesitate to ask us for a workable rate for your family. Enjoy our beautiful home on the Cumberland River. The views are fantastic. Our home has been photographed for the television show 'Nashville' and Robert Redford's team when he was filming his movie here. Three bedrooms, two baths, five new televisions, DVD players, cable TV, 750 square foot split deck overlooking the river. There is a privacy fence and frog pond and large yard overlooking the river. This is a two-story home. The furniture is new and comfortable. We are 15 minutes from downtown Nashville where you can enjoy Tootsie's, The Wildhorse Saloon, Bridgestone Arena, Printer's Alley and the Country Music Hall of Fame. The Grand Ole Opry, Opryland Hotel, Opry Mills Mall and General Jackson showboat are right down the road. Enjoy watching the General Jackson showboat come down the river. The neighborhood is full of trees and nature. We have birds, deer, turtles and Canadian geese that come down our street. The birds are magnificent and the fireflies are a scene to behold. This home is magical and serene. We call this Songwriter's Paradise for a reason. It exemplifies the meaning of Serenity on the River and brings out the best of Nashville. We are twenty minutes from the Nashville Airport, Music Row, the Nashville Zoo and the wonderful Parthenon, which is really spectacular. Enjoy watching the river flow from our second story river room, which is perfect to snuggle up, read a book and watch the river roll by. There is a desk for writing as you look at the river. Every room has a view. There is a boat launch one block away and a park for children to play. We hope you experience our Purple Moon River House. We have central heat and air, a washer/dryer, microwave oven, electric stove and oven, dishwasher, garbage disposal, toaster oven, blender, toaster, juicer and popcorn maker available for your use. This is a private

fenced-in home with tons of privacy for you to enjoy yourself. You can sit on the swing outside on the banks of the river and watch the barges roll by. The downstairs bedroom has a California king-sized bed. The bedrooms upstairs have one queen-sized bed in a loft style bedroom and one bedroom with a

full-sized bed. The couch is fabulous and leans back for reclining. There are recliner chairs downstairs and up in the River Room upstairs. This home is comfortable and clean with one bathtub/shower unit in the downstairs bedroom and one large shower in the large bathroom off the kitchen. Even the bathrooms have views of the river. There is a fireplace for Duraflame logs. This is a non-smoking environment.

No pets, please.

About Dorothea

All of my life I wanted to sing. I came out here for the music scene and a record deal and I did not get the record deal, but we bought this marvelous house in 1998. This house and the neighborhood it is in is so serene and peaceful that we just had to keep it all these years. My little girl has grown up here for the past 16 years by coming here in the summers and winters. It has been so much fun watching Nashville shift and grow. Downtown is so beautiful now. It really has transformed over the years. It is balm for the soul.

Dorothea purchased this house in 1998

Why Dorothea chose Nashville

There is just something magical about this place. I found it on a fluke. I made the realtor drive everywhere there was water in Nashville and we just HAPPENED upon this street. She was a realtor for years and never knew about our street. It was kismet. I saw it and I fell in love with it. I knew my soul just had to have this piece of heaven and I got it. Just knew it…..

What makes this house unique

I love the fact that we are private. I have very few neighbors now as the city bought out the land next to me so I have a garden setting now all down the street. The geese that come down our road and the beautiful birds that surround my home are just fantastic. I love to sit on the deck and watch the sunset. I put in a fence to be private and it is so nice to have that privacy fence. When I saw the house for the first time, I just fell in love with it. There is a lot of music history on our street. Ernest Tubb built the house that was next door to me. There are other music artists that live on our street too.

Great location and wonderful host. The house had everything we needed except bath soap. I normally pack a bar and had forgot this time.

Clean, cozy, and spacious!

  • 5 of 5

First I would like to say how nice the home owner was to talk to. She was warm, kind, and seemed to genuinely care about our individual stay.

The listing description was very accurate, during our stay as we found everything present that was listed (dishwasher, tv, wifi, laundry, etc.). It was easy to find with a sign out front, and offered plenty of privacy from the fence. I have used HomeAway several times now, and I can say this property was very clean and well maintained. The linens were fresh and well stocked, bathrooms were sparkling, kitchen was clean (including all of the utensils and cookware), and even the carpet was clean!

I only slept in one bed personally, but it was heavenly. There was ample space for others to sleep as well and they all reported comfy, cozy beds.

I can't say enough good about this place. I would definitely recommend it to anyone coming through Nashville who wants to feel like they are going "home" after a day of sight seeing, or a night at the honky tonks!

Lovely stay

  • 5 of 5

My friends and I stayed in the Purple Moon River House for a Girls' Weekend and we loved it! This house is on a quiet and scenic street, very close to the Grand Ole Opry. We took Uber downtown and it was very quick and easy. The house itself is very cozy, quirky and friendly. My friends and I had a wonderful time hanging out on the deck at night with the river below us and stars above us. Dorothea was extremely easy to work with and an attentive (but never intrusive) hostess. I highly recommend this property if you are looking for a relaxing getaway in Nashville.

Fireflies and a river sunset in the heart of Opryland.

  • 5 of 5

First off, Dorthea was amazing and attentive and the whole experience was a breeze. The house itself was so cozy we hardly wanted to leave to go explore the city which was only a hop, skip and a jump away. We blew it by only staying one night here. Next time we'll definitely stay longer.

Our home is in Nashville near the Grand Ole Opry and General Jackson Showboat. We are 15 minutes from downtown where you can visit the famous Ryman Auditorium, Bridgestone Arena, Country Music Hall of Fame, Tootsie's Lounge, Printer's Alley, the Wildhorse Saloon, the football arena and live broadway shows at the TPAC. We are about 15 minutes from Nashville Shores, a water park, which is loads of fun. There is a marina where you can rent jet skis and boats and paddle boats on the Percy Priest Lake which is wonderful also that is located by Nashville Shores. You can drive to Memphis and see Graceland or you can visit Dollywood, which is a four hour drive from Nashville. The wonderful magnificent Parthenon is in Nashville too, which is a do not miss. It looks just like the one in Greece and the statue of Athena is amazing. There are botanical gardens to visit and the Nashville zoo is great also. We even have a drive-in movie about an hour away. What a great city!!!
