Bring the whole family to the Sea Pearl! Or share it with good friends! This 2,800 sq. ft. home with five bedrooms and three full baths is just a two minute walk to the beach. It's been beautifully decorated throughout and is highlighted by a well stocked gourmet kitchen. Consider it the perfect place to begin happy vacation memories! There is a large yard made for active kids and a ground floor bedroom for those who find it difficult to climb stairs. Spend your afternoons in the comfortable screened porch and your evenings dining and star gazing on the upper deck. It's located in a quiet neighborhood, just one mile to Center Street.
Each bedroom is uniquely decorated with it's own theme!
The ground floor Nautical Room has a custom four poster queen bed and is just across from the downstairs full bath. Don't forget to look at the map featuring the lost treasures of the Bermuda Triangle and turn on the big brass lamp.
Upstairs there are four bedrooms:
Our Ocean Master, is ethereal and elegant. In a blue and green palette, the room is calming and classy with a fabulous antique desk, ocean inspired artwork, and flat screen TV with DVD. You will have a hard time getting out of this comfortable king bed, but if you must, head off to the Master Bath, that has a jetted tub and make some bubbles! (There is a separate shower in there too for the those of you who are non-soakers).
The Cottage room has original bead board walls and a queen size white iron bed. It has a sparkly pink crystal chandelier and lots of wicker and antique accents.
The Art Deco Room features antique mirrors and furniture from that period. The silver iron queen bed and dressing table make for a perfect place to primp for your fancy evening Downtown.
The Petite French Room (Also known as 'The Kids Room') may be the smallest of the bedrooms, but it is big on style. Inspired by the fleur di lis painted floors, the bright yellow and red room is anchored by a magnificent cherry chandelier and a cafe table for two. The twin trundle is great for little ones and big people alike, and sits below our 'blackboard' window. Scattered around the room are whimsical butterflies and sweet artwork that is calming and French inspired.
The Cottage Room, Deco Room and Petit French room share a separate full bath, located between the three rooms.
Other outstanding features of the home include: Full gourmet kitchen, outfitted to handle all of your vacation cooking needs. Want inspiration? There are some really good cookbooks on the shelves! There is a six burner professional stove, a stainless steel refrigerator, a microwave, dishwasher and a Keurig coffeemaker for you enjoy. Need some down-time activities in the kitchen? There are ocean themed cookie cutters and some sprinkles to enjoy!
There are two dining areas: The dining room which is adjacent to the living room, can seat up to eight people and has a bank of windows next to it. Open up the glass doors and you'll find a few Adirondack chairs and an outdoor gas grill.
The bright dinette is the houses headquarters! Plan your days over breakfast around this big table and host your board games in the evenings after dinner. It can also seat up to eight. We've stocked the house with quality dish and flat wear that beautifully matches the decor and makes for a pretty nice spread for your celebrations. Also located in the dinette are a few binders of activities to help plan your days and a box full of local menus of places to eat on Folly Beach. Also, there is collection of Charleston Magazine, a great reference guide. In the back of the magazine, they list some of the best restaurants in town. Yum!
So were biased, but the living room is WAY comfortable! You'll sink happily into our chairs and relax your way onto the couch for a calming nap as the big screen TV brings you DirecTV. We've also added some books, magazines and international travel art for you to look at.
The staircase going up to the second floor features 11 architectural prints from famous homes in Charleston. It's fun to go visit the locations of the homes downtown, snap a photo and then bring it back to the original plan and see what's changed in a hundred years or so!
Just outside is a screened in patio with comfortable outdoor furniture, cafe table, hammock rope swing and children's chairs.
An upstairs deck is outfitted with a large dining table and umbrella. There is a covered swing for two that will sway you as you read a good book and sip some tea. There is a nice breeze up there and it's a great place to star-gaze in the evenings.
The large backyard has an old fashioned tire swing, play structure, picnic table and lots of room to roam for a game of croquet, perhaps? In addition, we've added an outdoor shower for getting all that beach sand off you or for just a good cool down!
The Sea Pearl is someplace you'll want to visit again and again. It's a great central hub for all your vacation activities, while still offering you a private, stylish and comfortable home to relax and entertain in.

Originally from Venice Beach, California, the Jewel family searched seven years before finding their beach paradise in South Carolina. The house was perfect for our large family get-together's. We spent months renovating and decorating to maintain the original charm of this 1950's beach house while updating it with modern conveniences and luxuries. We've made great friends in the area, found our favorite foody haunts, and walked the sand countless times. We hope you enjoy our home as much as we do.
Lisa and Jerry purchased this house in 2011
Folly Beach has a great laid back atmosphere while still easily accessible to the sophistication and history of Charleston.
We have equipped this home for fun and relaxation. For the youngsters and the young at heart, we've got an awesome play structure, old fashioned tire swing, lots of children's books and games. New this year - an outdoor chalkboard! For those in need or R&R we've got a jetted tub in the master, DirecTV and hammock chair swing on the screened porch. Restaurants and beach rentals are just a mile away and Charleston is just a 20 minute drive.
Most importantly, the Sea Pearl feels like loved home and less like a sparse rental unit.
Here are some of the activities that our family enjoys while we are there...Walking on the sand in the morning, gathering shells on our way to get our lattes at Black Magic Coffee or our breakfast at The Lost Dog Cafe.
Visiting the Folly Beach Pier for souvenirs at the County Park Store or renting fishing equipment.
Riding our bikes around the island (Who needs a golf cart?)
Boogie boarding in the late afternoon before dinner at Taco Boy.
Discover local Geocashes - kind of like a no-cost treasure hunt.
Going to James Island County Park's water park for kids.
Taking a carriage tour downtown.
Ordering the popcorn bowl at Cinebarre Theaters in Mt. Pleasant.
Going to the Farmers Market
Taking a boat ride and seeing the dolphins.
Getting a baby sitter and going down to Center Street to hear a great band.
Strolling King Street and going into boutiques and antique stores.
We stayed at the Sea Pearl for 2 weeks and absolutely loved it and Folly beach. It's just around the corner from a very private section of the beach away from the more crowded public areas. The house was well equipped for large groups. We were 3 families with small children. There was plenty of space to eat and play. There's a beautiful fenced in garden and 2 separate patios giving everyone the privacy they need. Lisa was very quick to respond to all of my messages and an excellent hostess. We would definitely stay here again!
Had a great stay at Folly Beach! House was large and lovely. Short walk to beach. Grandchildren had lots of room to roam inside and out. Lots of nearby food choices. Beach is clean and always interesting. Found some nice shark teeth. It's all good!
We came to Charleston for an Army reunion, but included our children and their spouses to make it a dual purpose get-together. We appreciated comfortable beds, the fully-equipped kitchen and the spacious great room. Everyone had their privacy. The place is also well-stocked with a variety of books and games. We made use of the karaoke machine, too! We were 5 minutes from the beach and 10 minutes from the store. Since the weather didn't cooperate, it was all the more important to have a clean, cozy place to gather. We'll try for the same place again!
We came down for our son's graduation at The Citadel and brought our family. This home was just as described. The home was so clean, comfortable and quiet. The kitchen was very well equipped and there was plenty of space for everyone. We also enjoyed the enclosed porch, upstairs balcony, and close proximity to the beach. We've stayed in several homes over the last four years and this is one of the very best. We will definitely stay at The Sea Pearl again.
6 adults, 4 kids and an infant stayed at the sea pearl for a week. This is an excellent house for a large group. The kids loved the tree house, large back yard, games and the couple block walk to the beach. There is plenty of living space for people to spread out. The cooks in our group enjoyed the kitchen. I would highly recommend the Sea Pearl!
We stayed at the Sea Pearl for a long weekend and wish we could have stayed longer! The Sea Pearl home is HUGE and well equipped. Our group ended up being smaller than planned, but a larger group occupying all of the bedrooms would still not be cramped because there is so much living and dining space both indoor and outdoor. For the kids there is a pack and play, highchair, kids dishes, toys and books. There are a ton of games and books for adults too. The home has great access to the beach just a couple of blocks away and is 10 blocks (about 1 mile) to center street. There is also a playground about 5 blocks away. The owner was very responsive and helpful leading up to our stay. She also reached out to me after the stay asking for suggestions no matter how small to improve the home or our stay. We arrived after the leasing office was closed so had to obtain our key from the lock box. The location of the office was easy to find and not far from the home.
This year Conde Nast Traveler Magazine named Charleston the #1 must see city in the world. Come see our amazing historical sites, the most delicious restaurants and enjoy the beautiful beaches and outdoor sports!
