Peaceful setting with great views
We enjoyed our stay very much. The house was super clean, comfortable and exactly as portrayed on line. Short distance (maybe 1/2 mile) off of highway 2 so you couldn't hear any noise other than the distant clack of the train. Nicely equipped and fun to eat outside on the huge deck. The bedrooms were comfortable but the upstairs master with more mountain views had no curtains or shades (we loved it) so if you're light sensitive bring eye shades. Good place to stay to explore east glacier and particularly the two medicine area. Remember this park is huge and it takes a while just to drive to where you are going. Make sure you bring food with you because there aren't many nearby options. Would definitely recommend and we would stay again.
We loved our stay! The house was Great and had wonderful views.
Just incredible view - the evenings on the porch just cannot be beat.
This home is really nice to get away and enjoy the beauty of the park. And provides nice, balanced access to both West Glacier and East Glacier/Two Medicine. the house has all the amenities and a great kitchen.
Just note that you need to bring your groceries if staying a few days.
Robert and Sam were really helpful and responsive to all our asks.
Our family of 8 enjoyed this stay! Great space, beautiful views, secluded - a great get away!
Our family of 8 enjoyed our stay for 6 days. We planned on doing a lot of activity in Glacier, so this was a good option. It took approximately 20m to E Glacier and 45m to W Glacier. We do love to camp, but opted for a kitchen, bathrooms and more space this go around.
The cabin is secluded - a great feature. You will have little, if any, cellular service; which I like! Because of the seclusion, I would have changed a few of the directions to the cabin. We were not given an actual road name for the turn and there is in fact the name of the road-Giefer Creek. This would have been assuring as we were a bit skeptical on the turn. It also is past the "Forest Service Access" sign, which is slightly different than the name of sign we were given. We still found it on the first try, but we were questioning ourselves.
The cabin was well stocked. Plan to get groceries at least 1hr to 1.5 hrs away. This is fine, just need to have coolers/plan accordingly. You can get essentials nearby-pricey. I did need to bring a crock pot (as we planned to be gone most of the day and wanted supper ready upon return) & a pitcher for making lemonade/juice, otherwise we were fine with what was provided.
With a family of our size we had to be very careful about timing our showers/baths. We weren't all able to do this one after another. This was a bit disappointing after a long day of hiking & not all being able to get a hot/warm shower. We even tried giving each other time limits...sometimes difficult, with teenagers ;).
We were able to utilize the firepit area one evening. This was enjoyed by all. I loved sitting on the deck each night and looking at mountains, smelling pine and watching trains go by (in the distance, not a bother).
We would recommend this cabin to anyone considering this area! We were pleasantly surprised as we walked in the first day...looked better than some of the pictures even. Please do inquire about pricing. The price you see on web could vary. Our stay was about $60/night more than what VRBO ad showed based on various ages of kids. I wish if a home is advertised to accommodate 'x' amount of people, then the price shown would reflect that; not additional charges on top of that. This could be common; perhaps for cleaning since that is not an additional fee shown on advertisement. I still find it misleading. As I'm researching, I want to know what to expect; not be 'surprised' when I make the phone call to book the home.
this was a stop for our family of six during a three week journey around Montana and Wyoming. and the amazing drive right out the front door into often made our 'commuting' back and forth to the other areas of Glacier park better than the actual destination area! the manager was so kind and handled an error on my part with great diplomacy- she is a gem! i will state it was a joy to find everything we could possibly need. plenty of pots/pans, dishes and utensils in the kitchen! after seeing how complete it was we actually opted to cook in instead of dining out. the four huge bedrooms meant all had plenty of space. the extra large bathrooms meant others could bath without feeling they were 'hogging' the bath. the wide open downstairs gave everyone more than ample room to spread out and regroup before moving on. Adding the laundry equipment in made it a joy to pack away clean clothing instead of having to fly with dirty things. and when it all was done we sat on the deck with a glass of wine and enjoyed watching the wildlife walk on the hills right in front of us. we cannot say how please we were to have shared this lovely home for our stay- it would be difficult to find better anywhere!
This home is absolutely amazing! Very unique and comfortable, and you cannot beat it for the views! I just don't think you can find a place near Glacier National Park with the views this home has. We spent three nights here and loved every minute of it. It's not really close to anything, but conveniently located to get anywhere in the park you want to go. Very peaceful and remote! Linda the property caretaker and her husband Lee greeted us upon arrival and were great people. Truly enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again.
This cabin has an excellent view of the Southern Mountains of Glacier Park.
