Less than an hour from Charleston, SC you can have your very own farm for your next gathering! Described by the locals as 'a farm built by Eddie Bauer' this 27 acre paradise seems shut off from the rest of the world and has all you will need to be comfortable and relax.
To try and list all of the amenities is tough but imagine a kids camp for both adults and children. There is a barn with a wood burning stove, an outdoor fire pit with teak benches, a pond stocked with brim and bass, a 'western play town' movie set surrounding the pond with a hotel, saloon, jail and church (built for an independent film), a small boat (with lights!), a 160 foot zip line, a shooting range, golf clubs and a flag, walking and biking paths, an outdoor rainwater barrel gravity shower, and a full sized softball/ kickball field.
There is enough indoor space between the 'Country Estate' (country trailer) and 'kids cottage' (one room playhouse), barn (barn), and bunkhouses to sleep 25, but many find it more fun to camp. We have had as many as 50 spend the weekend! Spread out as much as you like. The country estate is simple but has three bedrooms- a master with a queen-sized bed and jacuzzi tub, a guest room with a queen-sized bed, and a bunk room that sleeps four. There is also a pull-out couch and a separate cot. The kids cottage also has a small futon that always ends up with the little ones on it. There are three full baths, a full kitchen and a washer/ dryer.
There is a nice gas station/ convenience store three miles away that even has a subway sandwich shop within, and is the perfect place to grab a quick bite, coffee, donuts, supplies, etc, but there is better shopping 15 miles away in moncks corner. Everything you need is included from linens to softball bats- come one, come all!
Jay is fabulous to rent from, short notice, storm damage, accommodating a softball team with all teenagers and some parents, he made it happen. The memories we have from the weekend at Tiny Pond Farm will last forever. There is absolutely something for everyone of all ages to do. Recreational items are all there to enjoy, even a ballfield to hold a family game of kickball!! Even though the mosquitoes were horrible, due to all the rain, standing water, from a recent storm, the fire pit was a success to keep the mosquitoes a little calmer, but Avon bug spray is a fabulous addition to your shopping list!! All that is needed is your personal belongings, food, and energy, because once you get there, you will have a blast enjoying the outdoors!! We had 22 people staying at the farm, plenty of room and fun for all of them. The only issue was bathing, really need to bathe at the pond, rough it for a couple of days, critters don't mind. A group as large as ours, water pressure and drainage was the only issue, it was a huge success!! Our party was 10 adults and 12 kids, ages 5-15, who loved the outdoors! So pack everything from your hiking boots to ATV gear and have a fantastic time at The Tiny Pond Farm like we did.
I was a little concerned we all wouldn't fit (16 slept there) until I got there- there are 2 bunkhouses that I didn't know about! We brought our ATV and my kids had a blast! We also played kickball, badminton, hit golf balls, biked, zip lined, fished, played cornhole and horseshoes, relaxed, had a fire at night, grilled out- we only went in to go to bed. Jay, the owner was easy to work with. Can't wait to book it again- my kids want to stay longer. My dog even enjoyed himself.
Outdoor adventure camping plus unexpected indoor amenities. This rental is all about the outside and there is plenty to love. If you require Four Seasons or even Holiday Inn refinement - this is not for you. BUT - if you love camping, firepit fires, ATV trails, gun range, hammock snoozing, outdoor theater at the pond, family kickball, then you have found a unique and desirable place. Jay, the owner, is easy to work with and plain fun to chat with. December is a great month for exploring beautiful South Carolina.
We try to do a retreat twice a year for our group of friends, and this was the first time we came to check out Jay's property. Hands down one of the retreats we have had yet. It was a group of about 30 of us, and the property has a little bit of everything to keep people entertained. Whether its relaxing in hammocks, utilizing the full softball field, kicking it around the spacious fire pit, or doing some fishing in the pond; there is something for everyone. Certain people didn't get phone reception while we were out there, myself included, but it was actually great to set down the technology and just enjoy the weekend. On arrival everything was clean and organized. Great property to get away and get back in touch with nature, would definitely recommend and will try to use again for our retreats. Thanks again Jay!
If you are looking for a place to escape the fast pace world of city living and enjoy spending time in the great outdoors, look no further. I recently enjoyed the property for my Bachelor party with around 10 guys with more activities than you could shake a stick at. In one day we were able to have a top shot challenge at the shooting range, an all out home run derby on a full size field, corn hole tournament, big fish competition in the stocked pond (8" Bass Winner), and finished the night off with a little Texas hold 'em when the sun finally went down. Jay was incredible to work with and you can really tell that he has put a lot of valuable time in making this place what it is. There was so much to do and so little time, and the property could well suit just about any event you can imagine. I would highly recommend this property to anyone interested in this incredible playground for all ages. Thanks again Jay for allowing me to enjoy my favorite activities before I settle down in a month and get married!
