Enjoy a very unique experience at Tao. Stay in the beautiful jungle in a condo large enough for your entire family, with all the amenities. Or go over to the Bahia Principe Resorts for beautiful beaches, excitement, and entertainment.
Ideally located inside the Bahia Principe Residences and Resorts. My condo has all the comforts of home. Kitchen = Full-size refrigerator with freezer, dishwasher, stove, oven, coffee maker, blender, toaster, and all the utensils you need to cook your favorite meal. 2 Bedrooms = each bedroom contains a private en-suite bathroom with shower, Queen bed with mattress and box springs for extra comfort, Air Conditioning, ceiling fan. (I also have the exact same unit available with a Queen bed in 1 bedroom, 2 twin beds in the other bedroom, and a futon in the living room that sleeps 2). Living Room = Air Conditioning, 2 ceiling fans, Queen size futon for extra guests, dining table, sitting room, AppleTV, DVD player. Large Patio with dining table and ceiling fan to enjoy the jungle setting. The unit has a full washer and dryer. There is free wifi throughout the entire unit. Guests have access to the community pool with lounge chairs and tables. Also there is a large BBQ if you choose to grill.
The Tao Wellness Center located in the Tao Residences has daily classes including Yoga, Zumba, and cooking, gym, 2 lap pools - all available free of charge. If you get hungry the Tao Bistro is open for Breakfast and Lunch, and has room service direct to your condo in the evening.
The condo is in Tao community, which is inside of the Bahia Principe Resort and Residences. The Resort is 717 acres which includes a Robert Trent Jones II Golf Course, Casa Club, 4 hotels, 16 restaurants, 4 buffets, 22 bars, 6 snack bars, 3 spas, 7 huge pools, 3 gyms. Bahia Principe Resort has 4 hotels = Sian Kaan, Tulum, Coba, Akumal. When staying at Tao, you will have FREE access to the Sian Kaan (adults only), and Tulum hotels including their activities, pools, beaches, and entertainment. To access the resort you will need an owners bracelet which I will provide at no charge (if lost there is a $25 fee). The beach is about 5 minutes away by car or you can take the shuttle which will transport you throughout the property. Everything you want to do on vacation is here. There is also a Hacienda with a Casino, Disco, shopping, doctor, pharmacy, live entertainment in the evenings.
Interaction with Guests
I live here in the Tao community so interaction with guests can be as much or as little as the guest chooses. I am here for anything you need, but will leave you to your privacy and to enjoy your vacation.
There is so much to do in the area when not enjoying the resort. Start by visiting all the cenotes in the area. For culture and adventure go to Xel-ha, Xplor, or Xcaret. Our beaches are in front of the 2nd largest reef in the world so snorkeling is exceptional. Want to swim with turtles? Akumal Beach, where the turtles live all year around, is 10 minutes away. Enjoy amazing restaurants in Akumal and Tulum. Tulum beaches are absolutely breathtaking with the powder white sand and crystal blue waters. Head to Playa del Carmen to 5th Ave for nightlife. For history go to the Tulum Ruins or Chichen Itza.
A car is recommended when visiting the area. There is plenty of free parking just outside the unit. The Bahia Principe property is very large, so having a car allows you to explore the entire area from jungle, to golf course, to beach.
I moved to Akumal, Mexico from California to live a dream in paradise. The Mexican Riviera is full of adventure, beauty, culture, incredible Flora and Fauna, and I enjoy exploring this paradise everyday.
Very nicely appointed condo in a well cared for resort. Jill was very easy to deal with and very friendly. The pool is lovely although there could be more loungers available. Biggest disappointment was the lack of advertised BBQ. WE shopped before arriving and bought specifically to BBQ a lot. So we were stuck inside without a BBQ or any type of electric grill. However the Kitchen was very well appointed and we managed quite well. We did not have a car and felt we did not need a car but we are seasoned travellers. Many people we met said they would never go to Tao without a car.
The beach is lovely but not in walkable distance which we knew so we were prepared. We wished there had been a shuttle more often and later to Tao. Its a 20 min walk to Sian Kaan to catch a shuttle if you miss the one at Tao or if you linger longer at the beach.
Most probably we would not return to Tao but that is not to say we did not enjoy our stay. It really is a lovely spot however we were looking for a little less resort and a little more pueblo. Anyone who is looking for more creature comforts and have a car would be perfectly happy here and having said that we'd rather be at Tao than in the snow anyday!
We had a great stay with our family during Christmas. The condo was clean and had everything we needed for our stay. Jill had a great binder made up with instructions for all the appliances and things to do in the area. She was very helpful with any questions we had during our stay. The access to the Bahia Principe Tulum was great for pool and beach time with the kids. We timed it and it was a 7 minute drive from the condo. There is alot of great things to do in the area so renting a car is highly recommended.
We highly recommend Jill's Condo. The Condo was spacious with a well equipped kitchen. The Tao Wellness Center was an added bonus with Yoga and Zumba classes every morning. The waiters at the Wellness Center restaurant were friendly. It was so nice to be able to take advantage of the Bahia Principe Beach Resort. We had a great time on the beach. Jill was so friendly and responded quickly to all my questions.
The condo is impressive, well decorated and amazing view. Very comfortable beds and beddings. Very well equipped and modern kitchen. We just returned and we are already planning our return :). Jill was very good host, she stopped by few times to check on us. There were very good instructions on house appliances and good general information about facilities and activities. Tao neighborhood is amazing and staffs are very nice. We had access to the hotels and their wondeful beaches but did not use the all inclusive. We visited local restaurants in Akumal. We highly recommend La buena vida, which our kids loved. It is also a great place for singles. There many good local restaurants with great environment. We highly recommend this place.
When we checked in the condo smelled very musty (like a sour mop!) and the patio was filthy (absolutely covered in bat guano...walls, tabletop, sliding glass doors, cushions, etc.) DISGUSTING! 3 out of 5 major appliances (the A/C units, dryer &dishwasher) didn't work. After one week we were moved to a nicer unit but we had MAJOR power issues here (8 nts without power...no A/C, no coffee in the a.m., etc) Landlord did absolutely nothing to help. Neighboring condos had issue fixed after 1 or 2 nts but not us.
New condo patio door didn't lock(safe didn't work in either condo!) but Jill blew that off too...
Also, property falsely advertised as being in Bahia Principe Resort-it is NOT part of Bahia and the people @ Bahia treat you like a second class citizen when they find out where you are staying. Prices listed for services @ Bahia are very misleading as well...conveniently none of the moderately priced places were ever open so we were forced to eat @ expensive restaurants(since we had no power to cook @ our condo!) All in all a very disappointing stay. Don't waste your time or money as this place is not as advertised!
My sister and I spent a wonderful 4 nights in this luxury Condo. Jill is a perfect host and was very kind and helpful and ensured we had everything we needed for a stress free vacation.
