About Elise Vieira

My husband and I live in New Bedford, MA. We have a daughter, son-in-law and one granddaughter who live in MO. I grew up in a large family and spend lots of time enjoying their company.

Elise Vieira purchased this house in 2013

Why Elise Vieira chose Martha's Vineyard

We have been visiting Martha's Vineyard for many years. We are very excited to finally own a home there where we can spend time with family and friends. We hope you will also enjoy our home with your loved ones!

What makes this house unique

We fell in love with this home because it has such a great interior layout. Outside, it's private, secluded by trees. The neighborhood is great! It's close enough to town, but just far enough to enjoy the peace and quiet of the Vineyard.

So accommodating, and really well stocked

  • 5 of 5

Our family decided fairly last minute to take a long weekend vacation, and Elise was very responsive in booking her home for a long werkend. It is close to the bus stop, essential for when there is no room on the ferry to bring a car, and also along the bike path, so our children could ride easily. We've rented several homes in the past, and we love to come to homes like this where it doesn't feel like a rental. It is so nice to not have a bare refrigerator where some condiments are already stocked. Also, it was so helpful to not have to buy things like laundry detergent, paper towels, etc. There were games and sand toys for the kids. We were so pleasantly surprised when we arrived to see how well the house was set up! Thank you so much for a wonderful mini-vacation!

The stay at Chipping Sparrow was great!!!

  • 4 of 5

My family and I did enjoy our stay at Chipping Sparrow. The home is bright and spacious. The bedrooms were comfortable. We enjoyed taking showers in the full bath, hot water with great water pressure. We also enjoyed the deck and the screened in porch. The grounds are really lovely with beautiful flowers. All of the amenities listed were provided and the prperty was cleaned and well maintained. Yes, we would recommend this property to a friend or relative. We would recommend for six people staying, it would be great to have two full baths, and for the bedroom on the first level, more drawer space is needed for clothing. The Best restaurant was in Edgartown, The Atlantic. Super delicious food!!! The Brices

Cozy & private country setting, central location

  • 4 of 5

The Chipping Sparrow is a lovely home on a private property but centrally located to everything. This was our first time visiting MV so we explored a lot and were literally no more than 25 minutes from every attraction on the island. Our teenage sons had friends in Oak Bluffs so we did that 10 minute trip every day. We also visited the Alpaca farm, just down the road. I enjoy yoga - there are hundreds of classes on the island - with three locations 5 minutes from this house. My husband is a cycling enthusiast - he biked from this house to Menemsha, South Beach and Edgartown. We also visited Aquinnah, State Beach, Chilmark and West Tisbury. Like I said we did a lot and getting any where on the island from the Chipping Sparrow was easy. After our busy days exploring, we enjoyed the private setting of this property. The home itself is cozy and well appointed but we spent most of our time either out on the open deck, among the birds and bunnies or in the screened porch listening to the crickets chirping. The outdoor shower is awesome. There is a huge outdoor grill and the kitchen is well stocked with appliances and an ample supply of pots, pans, dishes etc so that barbecuing and cooking up lobsters each night was a breeze. From the time we booked until we left, Elise & Jimmy were kind and helpful - responding to all of our needs but never intruding in our stay. We highly recommend this property and hope to have the opportunity to stay at the Chipping Sparrow again in the future.

Spacious and peaceful home in a great location!

  • 5 of 5

My daughters and I enjoyed the spaciousness and cleanliness of this rental. The kitchen was fully equipped which made cooking in easy. The owners had DVDs, games and beach equipment for our use. It was convenient to the island transit system which made getting around without a car easy. Because it was centrally located, we also got around to most of the towns using bicycles. Elise, the owner was extremely helpful prior to our arrival as she called to see if I had any questions and after our conversation, she e-mailed some information about areas of interest and upcoming events . She also picked us up at the Steamship Authority which was extremely thoughtful. I would definitely recommend this rental to friends!

This house is nestled in a quiet neighborhood, just off the beaten path. It is about a 30 minute walk to Main St., Vineyard Haven. Be sure to take the dirt road into town and enjoy the view of Lagoon Pond on the way! In town, you will find antique shops, restaurants, gift shops, and a grocery store (Stop and Shop). The neighboring town of Oak Bluffs is about 4 miles away - easy on a bike. The bus stop is only a couple of blocks away from the house. Lots of fun happens here! There are bars and restaurants where you might enjoy some local bands performing live. Check the schedule at The Ritz for Johnny Hoy and the Bluefish (my favorite blues band). Another must-see are the gingerbread cottages in Oak Bluffs. You won't believe how cute they are! This is not Anytown, USA!
