About the property

4 Bedroom House With Private Sandy Beach Close To All Activities On 4 Acres

One of the most magnificent settings anywhere! A very private property yet easily accessible with any car, even in the winter. Swim in your own pristine waterfront Pond with a sandy beach. Paddle boat to the two small islands in the middle of our pond in our 3 person paddle boats or just relax in a chaise by the edge of the water and take in the beauty.

The house comes with four bedrooms and two and one half baths. There is one full bath upstairs and one half bath upstairs. Downstairs there is another full bath. There are three bedrooms upstairs and one bedroom downstairs.

There are Cathedral ceilings in the dining room and part of the living room where the marble fireplace is situated. The fireplace burns gas not wood.

You will find a beautiful Baby Grand Piano is the Living Room.

There is a large screened porch that overlooks the Creek which is accessed by the living room as wells as from the porch. The Creek runs by the entire edge of the property.

We also have two sets of swings for kids and adults. By the end of May 2016 we will have completed our 2 bedroom guest house which is next to the 4 bedroom house. That will accommodate 8 guests. We also have an authentic Log Cabin that will be available this upcoming Summer accommodating 4 to 6 guests. Moreover, we have an additional rustic recreation cabin facing the Creek with an outdoor fireplace in the back porch and ping pong table in the interior room that will also become available this summer.

About Vasili Stertsios

I was raised in the mainland of Greece in the Mountainous Region called Epirus. The stone home in which I was born was situated on the foothills of my small town surrounded by deep green Mountains and looking out into a wide deep valley where River Aos flows into. I always had the feeling that the beauty of my small town was unique.

When I moved to the US as a 10 year old boy I was immersed into the life of NYC which was stimulating and educational.

it was not until I became 36 years of age that I took an active interest in exploring the Adirondacks along with my 21 year old station wagon and my black Labrador George. We would sleep in the car by the banks of Rivers or camp in the various campsites.

These mountains filled me with excitement, a sense of Wonder and peace. I can say with confidence that they did the same for George.

15 years later and three properties later, I still feel the same. The uniqueness of my love for these Mountains is made special for me because it is coupled with the ability to offer my properties there to other people that come up and hopefully get to experience similar feelings.

Why Vasili Stertsios chose Johnsburg

It is impossible to do drive by this property and not stop, get out of the car and say Wow! The house was built in 1991 and we still have the photo album of when it was being built. Great care was given to use the best material for its construction. The crystal clear pond is being fed by clean water constantly from the Creek and the sandy beach is just a delight.

What makes this house unique

The uniqueness of this property becomes apparent immediately when you arrive at the quiet setting and drive adjacent to this magnificent Pond and take in the view of the house, the Creek, the swing set, the bonfire pit, the log cabin and the warm new log house.

Swim in the fresh water pond or paddle boat and aim for the two islands. You take a deep breath knowing that you are free with no neighbors close by to dampen your spirits.

Well located, tired and outdated space.

  • 3 of 5

Had everything we needed for 8 people, but the space is in need of some updates, and we were asked not to use an upstairs bedroom, and instead needed to stay in the carriage house building which had crummy heating.

Very disappointed

  • 1 of 5

The house itself is dated but was very clean and has beautiful views. We specifically booked a house with 4 bedrooms only to come to find out once we got here that one bedroom was unavailable due to mold problem. I spoke with the owner prior to arrival to go over any check in procedures and she failed to mention this. We have an infant and 3 young children and needed the extra bedroom and would have liked to be told about mold. Also, lots of the dining room chairs are very rickety as well as the railing on the upper level. We can’t help but feel a little slighted by the lack of communication.

Owner's Response: The guest did not mention that we offered her the guest house which is next to the house that she rented for free as well. She got two houses whoch resulted in 5 bedrooms. We could have allowed her and her family to use the bedroom which had a roof leak but we didnt. Instead we locked up that room because we didn't want to accommodate anyone in that room until we fixed the problem. Lauren got two houses instead of one which is of greater value. I would think that she would be grateful and appreciative.

A perfect vacation

  • 5 of 5

This was the perfect house for our family of 10 plus 4 dogs. It had everything we needed and more. You can't beat having a pond with a beach right in your front yard! Thank you!

Loved our stay

  • 4 of 5

Beautiful house. At first we thought the place was interior but we really enjoyed it. Good place to spend time with family & friends. Only negative point is the smell in restrooms near the water drain.

This beautiful cabin got everything you need for a perfect getaway, you wouldn't want to leave.

We decided to go to Lake George for Memorial Day Weekend. The house is about 40 minutes away from Lake George which wasn't bad at all. There's a supermarket (Tops) 20 minutes away to pick up items such as firewood, citronella for mosquitoes, and everything that you may have forgotten to bring.

The lovely pond just looks fantastic, we tried to swim on it after riding the paddle boat, then wash off on the lake and dry off by the firepit with a cold beer, corn, marshmallows and hotdogs. Just perfect.

The owner, Dick Doux was pretty amazing. He checked on us to see if there's anything that we needed, gave a little bit of a story of the house which we appreciated so much.

This property seemed to be our most favorite now. We'll definitely come back.

Great Experience in the Adirondack Mountains!

  • 5 of 5

Vasili was such a grateful host for our group. The house was well equipped, clean, and had with everything you would need for a vacation winter or summer. The house also has a nice country feel to it. We stayed at the house for our trip to Gore Mountain. It's a very short drive from the house to the mountain. It's only about 5 min. to the Gore Mountain entrance and another 5 min. to the parking lot. We checked in later in the evening on the day of our arrival, and the property manager called to check in with us the next day. That was really nice of him to do so. While we did a winter trip at the house, I have to think it would be phenomenal in the summer for families with the paddle boats, swing sets, and close proximity to the stream in the back. I wouldn't hesitate to book this home again and would highly recommend it to anyone.

The property is in the Southern Adirondacks. This is the home of Gore Mountain with over 74 trails of skiing as well as Mountain biking in the summer. Also Gondola rides are fun anytime of the year.

Our region is surrounded by many beautiful Lakes. A favorite that comes to mind is called 13th Lake just a 10 minute drive from us with wonderful hiking trails adjacent to the Lake. From there, just go up the Mountain and you will find Garnet Hill with wonderful snowmobile trails and breath taking views.

North Creek is under two miles from us where you can hop on the Hudson Railroad Historic Train that would transport New Yorkers up from NYC during the 1920s and 1930s. Enjoy fine dining and try some of our local beers especially at Bar Vino with its impressive collection of wine and beer.

Rafting on the Hudson River has become very popular in the past 10 years for all levels and there are at least three companies such as White Water Challengers that would take you out for some great fun.

Another beautiful scenic drive is to head up to Blue Mountain Lake where one can visit the Adirondack Museum. A truly fascinating display of native history and wonderful artifacts to view. Blue Mountain Lake also provides paddle boats for rent which is lots of fun.

Horseback riding at Circle B Ranch is a treat anytime of year.

In the Winter months they also provide horse sleigh rides.

Lake George is about 25 to 30 minutes from us. There you can find all sorts of activities from Parasailing to cruises on small motor boats, to bigger dining cruises that take guests to the nearby islands. Many arcade, and game facilities in the Lake George Strip for kids of all ages to amuse themselves.

If golf is your game Cronins the 8 hole golf course in Warrensburg is just about a 15 minute drive.

During the Fall nature displays a visual treat with the intense turning of the leaves. You can drive for hours in any direction and it will be a cinematic experience in 3D.

We would be happy to suggest activities and places to view. You will not be bored that is certain!
