1100 sq ft, one bedroom guest house with an open floor plan that includes a large indoor, circular sunken fireplace and lots of privacy on three acres is located on a designated 'Native America Heritage Site'. This property has one of the largest Mortero collections in the county (where early Native Americans used the local rocks to grind their grains and medicines). Set among mature Live Oaks, Manzanita and various pine trees, this spacious and serene getaway will take your breath away! We are close enough to enjoy everything that San Diego has to offer but a world away from the traffic and congestion of the city.
There is just so much you can do year round - Mountain biking, hiking, fishing. Besides the beach and all the water activities, you can also venture into the desert on ATVs or Dune Buggies.
Live music at all levels from concerts to cafes, Balboa Park, fine arts,
fine dining and, of course, the San Diego Zoo, Safari Park and SeaWorld.
Norwegian Woods is also a prime location for artists to spend time writing and painting as the grounds are an inspiration for quiet creativity.
For the romantic, it's an opportunity to come together in a natural, peaceful setting. Isn’t it good…Norwegian Wood.

Both are adoring grandparents and their sizable families live within a few hours drive all around San Diego County. Doris is a California girl and a Five Star Chef and her husband, Odd is a native-born Norwegian, a retired oil platform engineer. They purchased this house in 1995 and have recreated a path together with Norwegian Woods, your home away from home.
With over ten years as the Chef at an upscale B&B, and my Norwegian-born husband, a retired oil platform engineer, we made the decision to recreate our paths.
Doris or Odd Busk purchased this house in 1995
We chose this property because of its peaceful energy and unique Native American history, and old growth forest setting.
The tranquil setting among the trees enhances the privacy unlike any other.
Inside, the circular fireplace beckons you to gather round and enjoy a cocktail or toddy, tea or coffee and each other.
The property sits on a designated 'Kumuyaay Native American Heritage' site with one of the largest known collections of rock morteros in this area, along with many pottery shards
The property was a part a summer/fall encampment for desert and coastal Indian bands for hundreds and possibly thousands of years. According to many local tribal members familiar with the property, this is a very special place and blessed. We believe them.
Wonderful time meeting Doris, Odd, James, Casey, and the kids! They made us feel at home! The cabin was cozy and had all the amenities you could need! Indoor and outdoor fire pit. Our children loved the property and we already booked another stay! Can't wait to return! You will not be disappointed!

Dear Mrs Doris and Mr. Odd Busk, Pine Valley Norway 03/29/2016
We thank you very much for staying in your apartment for 4 weeks with only
nice days. We enjoyed the place very much, and we had a very good time.
Everything in the apartment was perfect to have a very nice vacation.
Thank you very much to Doris and Odd Busk for a very nice time in the Wood
House, and we will be happy to come back another time.

We had an amazing stay at this beautiful property, the hosts Doris and Odd are beyond
excellent and we took advantage of the personal chef offer to upgrade our breakfasts and had dinners both nights prepared so beautifully and delicious by Doris that it made this weekend a memorable experience. The cabin is fantastic with five star amenities and the outdoor area was perfect for relaxation, our two dogs had a great time as well since the property is fully fenced; we are already planning a return trip since this is one of the VRBO experiences we ever had; relaxation at it's best at this beautiful place . Thank you so much Doris and Odd for a fantastic Easter Weekend and some of the best meals we ever had, both of you are so kind and thoughful, wishing you the best! Alma & family
My family had a great stay. Our hosts were most hospitable and the place was very clean and well kept. The sunken gas fireplace kept us plenty warm during the cold nights and the beds and bedding are so comfortable, you may not want to get up. The drive to San Diego is much quicker than you might think. I'd definitely recommend staying here. Thanks again to Doris and Odd for a great place to stay.
Great experience, super clean, nicely decorated cabin and lots of privacy. Great surroundings for hiking, even got so see snow on Mount Laguna and wild turkeys. Will definitely come back next season.
Located at the foot of the Laguna Mountains in beautiful San Diego County. A short ten minute dive west and you are at Viejas Casino and outlet shopping center for great shopping, dining and nightlife entertainment. Great hiking trails, mountain biking, cycling and fishing. Only 40 minutes to downtown San Diego, beaches, world famous San Diego Zoo, Sea World, Scripps Institute and Balboa Park with its many museum's. 30 Minutes to Historic Julian, known for it's apple pie. A short drive east and drop into the beautiful Anza Borrego desert and you can visit dessert flowers in bloom during the season or marvel at many desert sculptures that are place throughout Borrego Springs.
There is just so many things to do here year round. We have it all. Imagine, that you have the choice to choose your climate for the day. You can enjoy the coast, drive to the mountains to play in the snow and enjoy a slice of pie and wind up in the warm desert and back home, all in one day!
