We were well informed but a good thing we did not plan on cooking

  • 4 of 5

The manager, Jim, informed us of everything we could possibly fit in given we were there only one week. Our quarters were very tight but livible, as long as cooking was not a big part of our stay. Fortunately we had planned on eating out most meals with family and friends. Again, Jim was a huge help with recommendations for some great places to eat. He made sure that anything which was not working, was. We had a wonderful week and such easy access to the beach.

Owner's Response: These guests were a delight and we hope they choose to come back. Our kitchen is compact but it does have a full sized refrigerator, microwave, convection oven, two burner stove, sink with disposer but, no automatic dishwasher. We believe the kitchen is complete with a coffee maker, tea kettle, blender and even a food processor and ceramic lined cookware. We even provide a Weber Gas Grill for each individual unit to grill out on and of course we supply the gas. We also show this compact convenience kitchen in our pictures so our guest know exactly what they are getting when they stay in this unit. We do have larger units with full sized kitchens as well for those planning to eat in a great deal of their stay.

A wonderful retreat from the real world.

  • 5 of 5

This place was quiet and just as promised, 50 seconds to the best sugar sand beach on the Gulf! We spent time every day walking the beach and watching the glorious sunsets!

It was a great location for heading out to golf, St. Armand's circle for shopping, the Ringling Museum, farmer's market on Marco Island and every known fish dock to eat fresh fish. We tried the key lime pie everywhere and could not declare a winner, they were all good.

Unit 4 Review

  • 4 of 5

The location of the unit is truly the closest you can get to the beach without being on the beach. This particular unit has a unique layout where one room connects to another room. The airflow of the air conditioning is somewhat dependent upon the doors being open between the rooms. It is not fancy and the little kitchen area needs some updating and repair but if location is the key for you this place will work. Jim is very informative and will be able to assist and answer any questions you may have. We are beach people so hung out there most of the time; went to the drum circle on Sunday night for the sunset ceremony. We ate in and grilled a few nights; bought some groceries at the Publix in Sarasota and bought fresh fish while on the island. The dishes and pans provided are adequate for cooking simple meals. Ate out at The Cottage (good food) and Siesta Key Oyster Bar (which was okay)

Owner's Response: We are delighted these guests joined us AT THE BEACH. The were great guests and left the unit very nice. Jim the manager is on call and often only 2 minutes away if a guest has a concern of any kind. We value guests opinions as we are always looking for ways to make our guest's stay better. We realize the kitchen area is small which is why we post photos of each of our units in detail so there are no surprises or misrepresentations. We have been researching way to improve functionality of our kitchen area.We do provide a compact range, full sized refrigerator 1 year old, a microwave, convection oven and sink with disposer. Also each unit has it's own Weber BBQ. I am glad our guest enjoyed the ceramic lined cookware. We have had a number of guests ask where to buy it. This is the first comment about our AC/Heating system. It is over size for the space and has adequate air flow unless a prior guest partially closed a vent somewhere so that will be investigate immediately. We value guest comments and leave a check out form that has space for guest concerns although we do ask guests frequently during their stay if everything meets their needs. We strive to earn 5 star reviews by ensuring all our units have the most up to date amenities such as memory foam beds, 5.1 surround sound with our HDTV, HBO, Cinemax, Showtime, and Starz as well as 120 additional channels to provide high quality entertainment when not on the beach. We work to be sure our unit are extremely clean and nicely appointed with bamboo towels and sheets, book for reading, superb beach chairs with coolers, umbrellas, and even a built in sound system for each chair if a guests wants to listen to their favorite music on the beach.

Wonderful find on Siesta Key

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I stayed At the Beach for a week in 2015 and throughly enjoyed our visit. The room was recently remodeled, and was not only very well done but also clean and quiet. The beach really is quite close and those who were walking in from the units in nearby buildings were envious with how close and convenient we were to the gulf. Jim was a great host and shared many ideas on local sites and restaurants. We hope to stay here again in 2017 if it is available for our dates.

Perfect Beach Vacation

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed At The Beach for a week in Unit 4. Everything about the accommodations was as described with no surprises. It was very clean and well maintained. Just what you want for your vacation. Jim, the Manager, was very helpful with his knowledge of local restaurants and all the amenities that are available At The Beach. We enjoyed our dinners at Clayton' s Siesta Grill (the filet mignon was perfect), Le Epicure, and Turtles. We also used the gas grill to cook out a couple of nights. We followed Jim's suggestion and purchased groceries from the local Publix store. Having breakfast, lunch and some dinner options available allowed us to be flexible each day. The Beach and ocean were both beautiful and very close, perfect for morning and evening strolls. All in all, this was a great choice for our vacation. I'm certain we will be visiting again.

Summer get away!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I enjoyed a long weekend At the Beach! It was fantastic! The house was very cute, although the layout was a little unusual -- Perfect for 2 people! (could do a 3rd or 4th person if the group is comfortable with the extra bed/trundle being in the dining room area). There were even 2 bathrooms!

We stocked up at the store on the way in to town on food and beverages. Spent the whole weekend on the beach. Really convenient location. Could easily run back and forth for refills or bathroom breaks.

Sarasota is the leading cultural center of Florida, its rich arts scene rivals some of the biggest urban centers in the country. With dozens of performing arts venues, renowned opera, theatre and ballet companies, numerous art museums, a thriving visual arts community and art festivals that draw visitors from across the globe, it's easy to understand why people come to Sarasota for art vacations instead of beach getaways. Thankfully, the two are not mutually exclusive.

The John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art. Housed on the site of the circus magnate's former estate on the shore of Sarasota Bay, the museum hosts one of the largest collections of Rubens canvasses in the world, along with many other works by Old Masters. But that's only the beginning of the Ringling legacy. You can also tour Ca d'Zan Mansion, a magnificent 56-room Venetian Gothic palace that served as the Ringling's residence also see the restored
