Wonderful cabin, wonderful people, wonderful views, wonderful animals too! Definitely would be back!

  • 5 of 5

This property was beautiful! It was perfect for our group. We loved seeing the emus, and Digger, the pig.

We had fun canoeing on the property, our kids had a blast running around the large grassy areas, and swinging on the rope swing over the creek. It was really awesome. Denise was also very friendly! We would come back!

A Sweet Little Get-A-Way

  • 5 of 5

A great place to get-a-way! My husband, my daughter and I invited my friend and her daughter to join us in the cabin while we were in San Marcos for my son's graduation from college. All hotels in the area were booked and we thought we would try our luck at "Home Away." We were so pleasantly surprised at how convenient the local was to where we needed to be, but most importantly how comfortable, cozy and peaceful the cabin and surrounding area was. Denise Marks and her husband do a wonderful job of making these cabins comfortable, and they have taken extra effort to make the area outside an oasis that gave such relief to our busyness. We are definitely making plans to return just for fun!! Thank you, Denise and Keith! S&S Valentine

Great escape close to Austin

  • 5 of 5

This cabin is in a beautiful setting when you need to escape. It's also very close to downtown Austin, only 20 minutes away. The beds are very comfortable. My favorite thing to do was to read in the comfy hammock. Great hosts, great place!

Cute cabin on the Onion Creek. Nicely furnished, beautiful outside area, close to town

  • 5 of 5

The cabin is well maintained, has refrigerator, microwave and coffee pot in the kitchen area. Well designed living space with plenty of room and adorable loft area. The bed was comfortable. The outside area is large with benches by the creek, gas grills, fire pits, tables and chairs, and canoes for your use at anytime. They also have a few emus and a pot belly pig you can feed in their pasture area. Can't wait to come back again.

A little gem at the footsteps of Buda Texas

  • 5 of 5

We came to central Texas for a rugby tournament with my sons team. I decided we would make a little weekend vacation out of the trip. I cannot say how perfect this place was. Our cabin was clean and cozy and nicely decorated with a ranch feel. The property is perfect for a family, we enjoyed watching the emus and a pot bellied pig named digger as they grazed and wondered about their paddock. My son and I took advantage of one of the canoes and paddled down Onion Creek where we saw lots of birds, some fish in the crystal clear water, and some deer. There were lots of deer around, the kids loved it. My kids had a blast playing on the grounds, climbing trees and exploring all the outdoors. We can't wait to come back in the summer for a swim in the creek and some grilling on the fire pits. I highly recommend a stay if you just want a getaway or have business in the area. It sure beats a hotel.

While we were here the owner, Denise, put up some stockings above the fire place for my kids, it was such a kind and thoughtful thing to do. We will be back!

Peaceful cabin by the river

  • 3 of 5

Close to town, but away from it all. Comfortable cabin with room to enjoy the outdoors. Loft has two beds but the stairs are steep so be mindful of that for small children or elderly people. Nice comfortable bed downstairs in an open area. Nice bathroom with full size tub and shower. Nice back porch to sit on and enjoy a cup of coffee while you watch birds. Out the front door there are deer, emu, a pot bellied pig and more birds. There is a microwave, refrigerator and coffeepot. Outside there is a grill if you want to cook something. Very peaceful and we heard kids swimming in the river several cabins away.
