About Ryan Oliver

We are a young but large family of seven. My wife and I grew up in California but moved to Colorado shortly after we were married. We love it here and are a very 'outdoorsy' family.

Ryan Oliver purchased this cabin in 2013

Why Ryan Oliver chose Rocky Mountain National Park

As a family we have been visiting Grand Lake for almost 10 years. After many visits, we finally decided to buy a cabin here. We looked for about 3 years and finally found the place that was perfect for us. A cabin with balconies, great view and lots of land for our kids to enjoy. There is so much to do on the property and within walking distance. That is what we love the most about this place. We find Grand Lake very relaxing and it provides an escape from the hustle and bustle of life. We learned a great deal about vacation rentals in Grand Lake over the past 10 years as we were the renters. We always made mental notes of what we liked and what we didn't. We have done our best to set up this rental to include everything we liked and nothing we didn't.

What makes this cabin unique

Honestly, I have not seen a place like this in the mountains. We have a huge, beautiful yard with a firepit, horseshoe pit, swings for the little ones, porch swings facing the lake, and two beautiful decks. Inside it is almost 2 separate dwelling places. Perfect for multiple smaller families. We have tried make sure it has all of the comforts of home. Come stay with us ;)

Amazing Mountain Retreat

  • 5 of 5

My husband and two young boys stayed at this very comfortable home for a week. The house is beautifully decorated, very well stocked and provides a great view of the mountains and Shadow Mountain Lake. Located just a short 3 min drive to downtown Grand Lake, it's in a super convenient location. There is a brand new hot tub, great fire pit with plenty of chairs, porch swings and a basketball hoop. So lots to do outside. You can also pull your car/suv directly into a garage which is a nice bonus. The owners of this home care very much about the property and are incredibly helpful. They keep it clean, well stocked and are happy to answer any questions in time of need. The kitchen has all you could ask for, including several sets of dinnerware/glassware and plastic wear for the kids. The deck has a large, nice grill positioned on the upper level off the living room/kitchen. The hidden bunk room was a huge hit with my boys too! We'd be back here in a heartbeat.

Can't wait to visit again!!!

  • 5 of 5

The property is so beautiful and well kept. Really felt warm and welcoming. With all the kitchen appliances and utensils, our family was able to cook some delicious Food. The main level was the best cause that's where the view is!! Wether we were eating at the table or just watching tv, I'd catch myself just staring at the Beautiful mountain/lake view. The owners are lovely people. She suggested a few things for us to do and it turned out really well!! Our family can't wait to visit again. 💗

The Best!

  • 5 of 5

We had the best time at the Oliver's cabin! The beds and couches were super comfy, there was lots of space (indoors and outdoors), tons of amenities that we hadn't even been expecting (smart TVs, board games, tons of DVDs, every kitchen supply imaginable), and it was just a beautiful place in a beautiful little town with a gorgeous view. The owners were amazingly helpful and answered all my many questions. We started planning our next trip before we even left! Our boys didn't want to leave! Highly recommend!

A Dream Vacation!

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay at the Oliver's cabin so much!! I would say this is one of our top family vacations ever! We loved the cabin and all of the attention to detail. It was so well stocked and little details provided. One night we got to enjoy s'mores around the campfire in the snow with provided roasters and fire pit-- so much fun! The kids had a great time playing games in the game closet and using the game console on down time. The beds were very comfortable and everyone slept great! My little 3 year old is still talking about sleeping in the "hidden room" with the bunk beds. He was anxious to go to bed each night, which is not like him at all! The kitchen was also well stocked. We enjoyed using the provided items like a crock pot, which came in handy to have dinner ready after a day of skiing. The ambiance was great too! We loved the classy cabin decor that complemented the scenic mountain and lake view out the wall of windows in the family room. We were a larger group and it accommodated everyone very well! Over-all, the cabin had a great inviting feel. Definitely like a home away from home!

Aside from the good times at the cabin, we had an amazing time in Grand Lake and surrounding areas. I couldn't believe how much there was to do! Right next to the cabin there was a great sledding spot (remember to pack your sleds!) We also got to enjoy snow mobiling (my 3 year old can't stop talking about this either!), tubing, the hot springs, an incredible brunch at Fat Cats, a gorgeous hike, and skiing. (I know Becca can provide you with all of the details for these fun activities) We wished we could have had more than the 4 days we had there because there is so much to do. Also, I've heard there is just as much to do in the summertime too! We can't wait to give that a time sometime too! I would highly recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a memory filled vacation!

Beautiful home. Light, bright, and very comfortable! Home was spotless and had everything we needed

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our stay so much and were fortunate enough to get plenty of snow. The house was beautiful and the heated bathroom floors a huge bonus. Owners were wonderful to work with. Snow mobile rental and tubing recommendations were a big hit with our family. Great dinner at The Rapids Restaurant out last night.

The perfect Mountain Home!

  • 5 of 5

This was my 65th birthday celebration with all the women in our family! All 7 of us just spread out and had the best time! The ages were 1 year old, 30s 60s and 89 and we all had our own little space! Hiking was just right outside our door. The kitchen was great to have all 7 of us fussing around! The views were unbelievable! The whole living room was all windows! Everywhere I looked I thought I would love this in my House! Owners overwhelmed us with thoughtfulness and accommodating to what we wanted or needed! We will be back with the men next time! Thanks Becca for allowing us to stay in this great home!

At the western edge of Rocky Mountain National Park sits the historic town of Grand Lake, Colorado. It is a town where one steps back into time, where the store owners proudly manage their businesses, and greet visitors every day from their western boardwalk storefronts. It is home to fabulous dining, overseen by local restaurateurs, and designed to give visitors the optimal dining experience. Grand Lake is a town that buzzes to life at night; live music resonates from local lodges and saloons beckoning patrons inside for premiere entertainment. It is a place that houses the Rocky Mountain Repertory Theatre, and frequent festivals and parades.

It is where nature grabs your soul, and visitors understand the feeling of being able to really breathe again here. Its namesake, Grand Lake, is the deepest natural lake in Colorado, dipping to 265 feet. Fed by high mountain runoff, the lake is clear and pristine. Home to the Colorado River Headwaters, streams and rivers snake through the area, inviting you to fish and hike along their waters. In the spring watch the wildlife emerge from Rocky Mountain National Park, cow moose and their young calves toddle across our local streets. In the summer months visitors can explore the lake by boat, kayak, and even paddle boards. Horseback riding, ATVs, and cycling opportunities are as plentiful in the area as the trout are in our waters. Golf, hot air balloon, and live your dreams here.

Winter also invites visitors to play in Grand Lake’s winter wonderland. Grand Lake is the “Snowmobile Capital of Colorado,” with over 125 miles of groomed trails. Cross Country ski, ice fish, create a snowman, and watch snowflakes peacefully fall to the ground and build upon gathering snow. A thriving creative community is alive in Grand Lake; local artists and galleries are must-sees! Grand Lake invites you to our home, full of year round stunning natural beauty, and the opportunity to actualize what you only dreamed existed. Welcome to Grand Lake, Colorado.
