This lovely two en-suite bedroom and two bath condominium is one of the newest and the last approved condominium complex development in Princeville. It is located just across the street from the newly re-designed 45-Hole PGA Championship Makai Golf Course. The Prince Golf Course (Number 1 rated golf course in Hawaii) is also nearby, about a 5 minute drive from the condo.
The condominium is conveniently located on the ground level and the floor plan provides privacy to those traveling with other couples or family.
Each bedroom and bathroom are on opposite sides of the unit which are separated by the the living area, eating area and kitchen.
The master bedroom is large with a king size bed, 2 night stands, and an amoire with a flat screen tv and dvd player.
The master bathroom is very large with double sinks, toilet closet, walk in closet and a large and deep soaking tub with shower.
The second bedroom located on the other end of the unit is very spacious and has two double beds, a night stand between the two and a dresser. There is a TV/VCR player for the kids to watch Disney Classics or other children's movies we provide for guest use.
A linen closet is inbetween the second bedroom and bathroom with plenty of extra sheets, towels and beach towels. This is also where the kids' movies are conveniently stored.
There is a tiled lanai off the living area and master bedroom with patio furniture and lounge chairs. Although the unit is equipped with A/C, there are 4 sliding doors to open which invite the cross breeze to 'cool off' island style.
The living and kitchen area are open with lots of windows providing natural light and views of tropical plants. In the living room is a standard sized sofa, coffee table, two large chairs and an end table with lamp, a sofa table and a floor lamp. A flat screen TV sits on an entertainment center with an ipod docking station/sterero sysem.
The condo is tastefully decorated with Island furniture and local artwork.
The complex is very quiet and relaxing with beautiful landscaping throughout for privacy. The pool and hot tub are only a few steps away but conveniently located so the pool noise cannot be heard from this unit. The gated pool area is surrounded by beautiful tropical plants and a large waterfall cascading into the pool.
There is a walking/strolling path along the Makai Golf Course that runs from the newly renovated 5-Star Resort, The St. Regis Hotel, to the Princevile Public Library and Princeville Shopping Center. You'll enjoy breath taking views of the mountains while you take your morning or evening walk.
The St. Regis Hotel is a must for cocktails at sunset where you will absorb the tranquility and beauty of the panoramic view of the mountains, Hanalei Bay and the ocean.
For beach goers, there are many beaches to choose from. Anini Beach is just a 10 min. drive from the condo where there is safe swimming and snorkeling any time of year due to the longest reef in Hawaii protecting the beach from large surf. This is a great beach for families with young children. Other nearby beaches are Secret Beach, Hidden Beach and several other beaches at Hanalei Bay, all within a few min. drive from the condo. Drive a little further north and you will find many secluded beaches all the way to the Napali Coast.
The condo is supplied with many amenities for beach activity, such as several different sized snorkeling gear, various sized water shoes, boogie boards, sand toys, 'noodles', kiddie flotation devices, beach towels, chairs, backpack chairs, umbrellas and various sized coolers to pack meals and beverages for your day trips.
The Plantation at Princeville complex has a private gym, exclusive to those staying/living at the complex. This is the only gym (public or private) on the North Shore.
The quaint and laid back town of Hanalei is only 4.5 miles away where you can shop for local artisian work, jewlery and clothing. In town you will also find a shopping village, health food store, a small town grocery store, a yoga studio, the Hanalei Coffee Co. (roasted at the cafe) which offers homemade goodies and light breakfast/lunch meals, Bubba's Burgers, several shave ice stands, surf shops, places to rent kyacks, surf boards and scooters.
There are many places to grab a quick bite to eat or enjoy fine dining... from fish tacos at the Tropical Taco to tapas at the BarACuda (pricey but great food!), Bouchon's offers a good menu and as well as the Hanalei Dolphin (pricey). We have two fairly new restaurants; Hideaways Pizza (Princeville) which has pizza and Italian dishes. Their fish specials have always been good too. And the Tiki Aniki which has good fish and salads.
For a special treat try the local fresh fish and organics dishes at Post Cards, one of our favorites but is also a little pricey. Another must and for budget dining is the Kilauea Fish Market in Kilauea - the BEST fish wraps ever! I have not tried anything else there because the wrap is so good. But I hear the fish tacos are pretty great too! They also offer Mexican style plates. Open for lunch and dinner, to-go orders or order/pickup with outdoor seating which is limited. It's a BYOB place too. Wonderful people. Go early and you'll be able to buy fresh fish of the day, by the pound to take home for your own preparation.
As a convenience to families with babies, we have provided a pack n play, an umbrella stoller, high chair, baby swing, bouncer, baby monitor and a universal car seat. There is a variety of children's Disney movies, card/board games for all ages and an Xbox with 3 controllers and several XBox games for teens and adults. No kids games, you'll have to bring your own!
A miniture golf course has been on the North Shore of Kauai for a couple years now (5 min. drive from the condo). It looks like a lot of fun! We have not had the opportunity to try it out yet.
Don't forget to save a day or two for the awesome hikes on the Napali Coast ranging from 4 to 11 miles. The trails start at the end of the road on the North Shore, about a 20-25 min. drive from the condo. These hikes are difficult and dangerous and are not suitable for small children but the views are spectacular and well worth the difficulty of the hike!
Another must for the 'to do' list is the beautiful National Tropical Botanical Garden, Limahuli Garden, 'A Window to Ancient Hawaii'. The 1.5 hour self-walking tour consists of 3/4 of a mile total walking distance. Bring your camera! There is anothe botanical garden close to the condo heading towards Kilauea on the left side of the road. Great gift shop with island themed goods and reasonably priced.
My husband is retired from PG&E as an Electric Crew Foreman. I retired from a 24 year career in San Francisco as the Corporate Administrative/Facilities Manager and Office Manager at the Corporate Headquarters of a leading national and international newswire service.
To de-stress ourselves from very demanding jobs which gave us limited quality time with friends and family, we vacationed with our families on the island of Maui every year. We came to a point later in our lives where our children were pretty much gown and we wanted to explore and experience another island, and hopefully find one less traveled.
That's when we decided to visit the island of Kauai. On this particular trip we decided to start looking at condos. We spent the first half of our trip on Maui, looking at condos in various towns then took a puddle jumper (and I do mean a puddle jumper!) over to Kauai for the second half of our trip to do the same.
That's when we fell in love with the island of Kauai. As soon as we landed, it appeared to be more tropical then the other two islands we had visited in the past. The further we drove towards the North Shore the more tropical, less crowded and more laid back it got. We immediately knew this was where we wanted to purchase our island condo - The North Shore!
The island is breathtaking and has so much to offer to those who respect it's beauty. The mountain views are just as spectatular as the ocean views, if not more. They never look the same!
We immediately feel at home on the island each time we come back. As we head out to the North Shore we start to immediately unwind. There is no keeping track of what time of day it is and the island just does something wonderful to you! We are proud to call this island our second home.
We are happy to share our home with you while you visit the beautiful island of Kauai. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do each and every time we come back to our island home.

Kauai is very tropical, especially on the drive to the the North Shore where you drive through beautiful canopies of flowering trees, vines and plants with the spectacular views of the mountains on your left and the ocean on your right.
We love the North Shore of Kauai because it is more remote, laid back, quiet and less traveled. We love the small quaint, town of Hanalei which is just a few minutes drive from the condo.
Beaches are pristine, secluded and close-by. There is no tourist trap feeling here. There are casual evenings with music entertainment a couple nights a week at local hang-outs in many of the North Shore towns; some scheduled performances and some impromptu nights with very talented locals.
You meet exceptionally nice people where ever you go who not only carry a smile on their face but in their hearts.
Pool, hot tub and gym are all on site and are a convenient and exclusive amenity to guests who stay/live at The Plantation. This is the ONLY gym (public or private) on the Northshore and it is private.
There is a meeting room with a conference table, chairs, speaker phone, internet access and fax/copy machine for those who may have specific business needs while on the island and require privacy.
Many secluded beaches and hiking trails close by. The quaint town of Hanalei is only 4.5 miles away.
There are many walking paths in Princeville. Going in one direction will take you from the condo to the Princeville Shopping Center, Princeville Public Library and the Princeville Community Center where where special events and classes are held (some free) for the community. There is also a recently remodeled children's park.
Going in the other direction will take you to the St. Regis Hotel where you will see spectacular panoramic views of the mountains and Hanalei Bay. Great place to see the sunset and enjoy a cocktail!
From entering the front door you are surrounded by all things Hawaiian from the furniture to the art work to the sliding bamboo curtains. The beds are very comfortable (read that my back never ached). There is an excellent cross breeze that runs through the condo leaving one comfortably cool. All the appliances worked well! There is a very helpful book with suggestions of adventures one can take. Within walking distance is a small but bustling shopping center that provides whatever you could possibly need. The work out room was well supplied and clean! There is snorkling equipment, water shoes, fins and sandtoys! All in all condo #1112 is a perfect choice for staying in Kauai. Not that we needed it but there is an emergency number you can call if you have any problems with the condo. Aloha and mahalo!
This was the second time vacationing on the island but our first time in your lovely condo. Myself, my husband and two boys all felt right at home. The condo was very family friendly and our boys loved borrowing the boogie boards and my husband and I enjoyed using the beach chairs and umbrellas at the beach while watching our boys play in the surf. All the amenities were perfect and it was a wonderful place to call home while we were there. Grocery stores, beaches, and wonderful restaurants were all a short drive away. It was a wonderful vacation for our family and really enjoyed the condo. We look forward to vacationing here again. We made lots of memories. Thank you.
We really enjoyed our stay in Princeville. This was a great location near the wedding we were attending. The condo was very nicely decorated. It was perfect for us and it was a close drive to Hanalei, the beaches and the grocery store. The St. Regis was just down the road and we really enjoyed going there for drinks and to view the sunset. We received our deposit back quickly too.It was a great vacation and a wonderful start to my retirement!!
The condo was very clean and complete upon arrival. We had very few neighbors other than the one upstairs they seemed nice enough, we only met them once. We did cover most of the island but stayed mostly up north around tunnels and the Princeville airport for the helicopter rides. We enjoyed the island and other than the very expensive groceries it was very nice. We will do it again.
Cozy condo shared with another family in Princeville, HI. Beautiful with a small community 'feel'. Each family had our own bathrooms. The kitchen had all the amenities. Had access to internet and cable. Loved the pool, the jacuzzi and the workout room when it rained. On beautiful days, you can walk 1.5 miles in either direction...to the stores in Princeville, or along the golf course till you reach the ocean at the St. Regis where the beach is beautiful, the brunch is a little pricey but the views from the hotel are spectacular!!!
Brought too many clothes as there is a washer/dryer available.
The town of Hanalei holds many surprises - like being the place where the movie "The Decendents" was filmed - including the Tahiti Nui Restaurant (ask for Nancy aka "Lady") who served as an extra next to George Clooney.
Anini Beach was quiet and hot! Loved setting up in the shade, walking out among the tide pools and searching the beach for sea glass that washed ashore.
Beautiful island of Kauai (pronounced Hawaii with a "K"). You definitely have to come and visit, spend some time exploring or doing nothing at all.
And if you see a small kitty around, her name is 'Cali" short for Calico and California. She adopted us...very sweet.
We thoroughly enjoyed our month-long stay in this condo. The furnishings are comfortable and of superior quality. We've stayed in many condos but the kitchen in this one was the best equipped we've ever experienced. We also enjoyed the on-site clubhouse that had like new aerobic and weight training equipment. The condo is located in a quiet, convenient development. A beautiful walk will take you to the St. Regis Hotel (about 1/2 hr one-way), to the community center (about 20 minutes walk), or to Anini Beach (about 1/2 hour). Hanalei Bay (one of our favorite beaches on the island & probably the most beautiful) is a short drive away.
They have also provided beach equipment as well as baby gear. You will not regret booking this condo!
Also available on the island are golf courses, helecopter tours, dinner cruises, luau's, whale watching, zodiac tours, horseback riding, hiking trails, surfing and standup paddle boarding. There are several zip line tours on the island. One nearby is The Princeville Ranch Adventures and there is a fairly new miniature golf park located in Princeville and both are only a 5 minute drive from the condo.
