Log Home On Wequas Lake

Bedrooms 3
Property type cabin

About the property

2-3 bedrooms, 1 full bathroom, sleeps 6-10

The Wild Winds is a winter wonderland! Snowmobile trails start at the top of our driveway (we have room to park snowmobile trailers). Cross-country ski on our private trails, or visit groomed county trails only a couple of miles away. Ski downhill courses such as Treetops or Boyne Mountain, each only about half an hour away. Or simply enjoy the pristine beauty of our acres of pine forest in their winter frosting!

We allow well-behaved dogs for a small fee, and also charge a $60 cleaning fee. There is wi-fi available.

This log home, "Junior" cabin, has 2 bedrooms (plus fold-out queen) sleeps 6-8, and it has a fireplace! When it's not too cold, the back bedroom with two full beds is also available.

Or consider our other vacation rental at the Wild Winds: ""Honeymoon Cabin," has 4 bedrooms and sleeps 8-9 people. (see homeaway #298533).

The log homes are right on Wequas Lake, and our beautiful private lake is just a short walk into the woods.

Both homes come equipped with satellite TV, washer, dryer, full kitchen and 1 bath. The price is the same for either log home: the basic rate is $620/wk or $120/night, and prime dates are $750/wk or $145/night.

Peace and quiet

  • 5 of 5

Second stay at wild winds. Cabin has all the necessities. Location is a very tranquil and isolated setting. Rokko is a most gracious host.

Great weekend getaway

  • 4 of 5

Older cabin on the lake with grat view and amneties. There are 4 cabins on this property so the fire place, canoe, row boat and pedal boat are common for all guest at the time. One of the nicest things about the place is the fact that fire wood is split and ready for use on the property. Roko was a great host and our weekend went great.

Quintessential Northern-Michigan escape

  • 5 of 5

The cabin provided the perfect opportunity to leave everything behind and just relax. It is exactly how we picture most authentic cabins are and should be. Beautiful views, quiet lake, trails, nature, and peace. Rokko is a welcoming host and more than willing to go the extra mile. It might not be what you expect, or are accustomed to, but it is what we all need. Simplicity, escape, relaxation.

Terrific cross country Ski Weekend Gettaway

  • 5 of 5

We had a terrific stay here. The cabin was extremely comfortable for our two families (four adults, two four year olds, two one year olds and two dogs). The kids played in forest and the adults explored the ski trails. There is a short loop that you can pick up by basically walking out the front door of the cabin and several miles of trail within a two minute drive. The cabin has a very cozy fireplace. The Jans family was accomodating, fleixble and very nice. We plan on coming back next winter and think this would be a terrific spot on a fall weekend.

Owner's Response: I am so glad you had such a terrific time here at the Wild Winds. Kids and (well-behaved) dogs are always welcome, and so are cross-country skiers! Though our location is great for snowmobilers (trails start at the top of the driveway, and there is room to park trailers), it is just as wonderful for cross-country enthusiasts. We put in a half-mile loop through our woods this winter, and miles of county-groomed Pine Baron trails are 5 minutes away. And don't forget that Boyne Mountain and Treetops ski resorts are both within 20 miles of us, and offer downhill, cross-country and other winter activities. And some folks just like to cozy up in front of the Junior cabin fireplace! (I'll supply the wood.)
