About Gerald McKenna
Long time Venice resident, now retired and living in the desert near Palm Springs.
Gerald McKenna purchased this Condo in 1988
Why Gerald McKenna chose Venice
I designed and built this building in 1988 because I liked living at the beach and the bohemian vibe and the easy-going attitude of the community. Today the area is popular with younger professionals and this has created a great neighborhood with a wide variety of restaurants as well as good shops and amenities but the relaxed attitude of the residents remains intact making Venice Beach today's coolest hot spot in Los Angeles. Venice Beach is without doubt the best place to stay when you visit the can-be-overwhelming city of LA. Remodeled in 2013 and redecorated in 2016
What makes this Condo unique
50% of the neighborhood is ocean.

Five minute walk to the beautiful beach!
You can't beat the location of this condo. So close to the beach, and even on the weekends when the area gets very crowded with beach-goers, the street remains very quiet. There are plenty of restaurants and bars and a couple of little markets on the main "strip." We did not rent a car, as Lyft/Uber are plentiful and stress-free if you want to avoid the LA traffic . Gerald is available and helpful should any issues arise.
Fabulously located, comfy & convenient
This 2 story plus roof deck home was a great choice for our family of 4. It could use some updating (the only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5), but otherwise made vacation living easy and fun with its walkability- 2 blocks from a quieter part of Venice Beach and 4 blocks from fun restaurants and bars on Washington Blvd, a great spot for people-watching! Close to everything including Venice Canals and Marina del Rey, you probably don’t even need a car if you stay here. The roof deck is an awesome spot to watch the sun set and enjoy a panoramic view of the water, mountains and city. We spent a lot of time there! You will surely enjoy your stay and Gene is available and responsive if anything unexpected should arise that needs attention. You’ll be amazed at how quiet it is, even though there’s so much activity going on very near by.
Inside, the beds are comfortable with nice soft sheets and the kitchen is well-stocked. There are towels provided and a very convenient washer/dryer in the unit. We didn’t use them, but there are nice bicycles available for guests too. There is a spot in the garage, but only big enough for a smaller vehicle to park without struggling. The walk street at the front of the house is beautiful and takes you quickly and directly to the beach!
We enjoyed how close this property was to the beach, restaurants & bars. There were beach chairs & towels which we really appreciated! Loved the entire experience!! Thank you!!!
Awesome property, very clean and neat. It was exactly how it was listed. Close to everything.
This place met all expectations. Location is great. My wife and I stayed here for a week. We decided not to rent a car and did not need one. We went to the Hollywood area a couple of times and an Uber was much more reasonable than renting a car. As far as things to do in Venice or Santa Monica, no car was needed. Restaurants, the Boardwalk and quick shopping are an easy walking distance. The condo was great! Loved the rooftop patio. We didn’t cook there but the kitchen was well appointed. Had an issue with the garage door and Gerald took care of it the same day. Have a cocktail at the Whaler just down the street and enjoy your vacation in Venice.
LA Visit 2019
Plenty of good space, short walk to beach, restaurants, rentals, etc. From visiting with family in Woodland hills, to spending the day at Universal Studios, to checking out the Santa Monica Pier, biking up and down the coast, this was an excellent place to stay for our visit. And, from the roof deck, you can see the beach on one side and the Hollywood sign on the other!
Enjoy a visit to the bohemian mecca of Venice Beach, the coolest neighborhood in Los Angeles. Situated just 300ft off the boardwalk and the beach yet on a quiet pedestrian street.
