Aloha and welcome to Hotel Pa'amalu the only one room hotel in Kealakekua Hawaii. Hotel Pa'amalu is a blend of Polynesia, Indonesia and amnesia. Come swim in our warm tropical waters or explore the enchanting tropical rain forests atop Kilauea, possibly the most active volcano on the plant. Plan your day while lounging on the lanai, comforted by the warm gentle trade wind breezes.
You will begin your day 5 minutes from historical Kealakekua Bay, on the leeward slopes of Mauna Loa on the island of Hawaii. The weather is warm, sunny and mild all year long, yes all year long.
Hotel Pa'amalu is a fun, retreat, romantic get away, or a brief interlude as you travel through out our beautiful islands.
Thanks so much for visiting, hope to hear from you soon.
Oh, if you come during mango season you may never leave the lanai!
Mahalo Nui Loa,
Nice quiet location. Very close to Captain Cook, Two Steps, and Pu'uhonua o Honaunau National Historical Park. Kind owner with nice garden with many fruit trees and well kept property. Nice neighbors and very peaceful setting. The direction he gave us was on the point and the place was easy to find. The drive from airport was fun.
Wonderful private location. Everything you need and want, including a very serviceable kitchen. Quiet, peaceful, and beautiful. The owner was very helpful.
Beautiful property, well kept and kind host. We loved the garden. It was quiet and relaxing.
This was a last minute booking for us, and host was very helpful. Cottage was very clean, and really well decorated. Bed was comfortable, and great location to start our trips. Great place for a couple!
..after a long distance flight from europe, that was the place to coming down at the island…silence…early morning birds singing…lots of fruits arounds the cottage for the morning smoothie…really calm atmosphere…view to the ocean…5 minutes drive to the bay area for swimming with dolphins…organic vegetables from the neighbors…farmers market close by…place for silent morning meditation…some geckos will always visit your life their and try to get a taste of your smoothies ;-) ...and a wonderful fountain attracks all birds from the landscape around to take their bathings right in front of your sitting place….what a miracle to be at that place...
All the previous commenters have described this cottage well: beautiful location, easy access to everywhere, and helpful, friendly host. If we are lucky enough to visit the Big Island again, we will arrange our travel schedule to be able to stay here. Charles describes this cottage as "close but far..." and this says it all. It's far from crowds, busy roads, etc., but close to the bay, close to town, and its easy to get anywhere from here. We appreciated the chance to relax on the large lanai and watch the birds, the ocean, and the sunsets. The kitchen was well appointed and we were able to cook meals regularly. We very much appreciated Charles' willingness to let us leave late on our departure day, as nobody was scheduled to come in immediately. We would definitely love to have the opportunity to return!
