My family has lived in Sharon for 4 generations. This has always been...and always will be....my home.
Gary Olsen purchased this house in 1989
My family selected this mountaintop for a home site. I believe it represents the very best location in the area.
The unique combination of the home itself and the location. Just a short drive from New York City.....yet it offers a true New England experience. This property is also the main residence for Thee Ellsworth Manor; an elegant wedding and event venue. You can visit our venue's website at http://theeellsworthmanor.com
We just spent the last weekend here for an old friends re-union. The setting was serene and exceeded all our expectations. The house was very well kept and cozy. Even though the weather wasn't cooperating, we still made a couple of trips up to the wedding site/hilltop where we had a full views of foliage. Gary was very polite and easy to work with in booking the house. It was very informal and no frill. We'd def book again if/when we come back out to the area.
Such a lovely house in an amazing setting
Can't recommend it highly enough, will definitely try to go back again
My sisters and I surprised our mother with a get away for her 91st birthday. Our choice of this house was the perfect one! The house is as beautiful as it is pictured and the views are really breathtaking. Gary could not have been more accommodating and he was available if we needed anything at all. This is the ideal place to come to for relaxation, exploring the area and doing some sightseeing. We would not hesitate to return here at all. Thank you, Gary!!
For my mom's 91st birthday, myself and my three sisters took our mom away for a girls weekend. We had the best time ever. The house is beautiful and was absolutely perfect for all of us. There was nothing we had to bring other than ourselves and our personal belongings. The owner is extremely friendly and very accommodating. We definitely want to return here again and would highly recommend this lovely home to anyone considering a get-away trip!
This 3 bedroom/3 bath house offers plenty of space and is an ideal spot for everything from a weekend getaway to a beautiful wedding. In addition to its size the home is also beautiful. The bedrooms are comfortable (one of the beds is very firm). If I had to nit pick I would say the kitchen is slightly under supplied, the living room furniture is dated and as such isn't super comfortable for lounging. That's okay though because the property is so beautiful you wont find yourself lounging inside all that much.
The property is huge and gorgeous. A small walk from the house leads to the "Wedding Site" overlooking miles of nature, mountains, and beautiful sunsets. Even closer to the house is a small hidden trail that leads to a few chairs overlooking small rock cliffs and the property leading up to the "wedding site". Its a perfect spot for morning coffee and reflection. The property has so much more to offer then I can write in this review. The owner is very proud of their property and is willing to show you all it has to offer.
Very clean and well furnished house on a ridge outside of Sharon with terrific views! We stayed and enjoyed spending time in Sharon, Millerton, and Lakeville, but mostly enjoyed sitting on the lawn reading books and having mini-picnics. The views are just that great and it is really nice to be on top of the world. The owners were super nice and very accommodating and welcoming to our family. With thanks!
Quiet enjoyment at its best. Most people; once they arrive at this special place and explore all that it has to offer....feel little desire to leave.
