We have lived in Colorado since 1985, though our kids and careers have taken us to Wyoming and the Front Range.
Barbara Lea purchased this house in 1993
Glenwood Springs is the perfect small town to live and play in. Centrally located between Aspen and Vail there is something for everyone to do. We lived in this house full time until 2000 and have used it as our personal vacation spot ever since. In 2011 we decided to share it with others.
We enjoy walking, biking or snowshoeing right from the house up to Glenwood Adventure Park or down to Two Rivers Park and the river trail system. The house is quiet yet close to everything.
We had such a wonderful month living in this beautiful home. There were no amenities lacking. From the well stocked kitchen (a cook's dream) to the comfortable large bedrooms (bed's more comfortable than at home!) to the lovely den and fun game area, the fabulous front and back porches, the side patio with the easy to light fire pit, an expansive back yard, the fruit trees, the grape arbor, the flowers attracting bees and hummingbirds, the breathtaking views of "the red mountain" and Mount Sopris......it was a dream come true. We loved this house and its location......so close to everything. And we loved Glenwood Springs. Thank you, Barbara Lea, for sharing your home. Thank you, Pam, for your warm welcome and showing us the ropes. We hope to return next summer to our "home away from home". Clark and Cindy
We stayed the month of June, 2016. It is an excellent location and very close to downtown, but located in a quiet neighborhood. One can view Mt. Sopris from the front porch. Really enjoyed the outdoor firepit and making s'mores with the kids. So many toys provided for all ages. An excellent collection of books are available for all ages to enjoy also. Our favorite places were the front porch for relaxing and the back porch for family dining. The gourmet kitchen is well stocked with all the dishes and cooking utensils one can imagine. The only thing to improve is the cooling. It really gets warm in the summer now, and the units are loud and need updating. I mentioned this to the owner and I bet she makes some changes soon. She is so sweet and really wants her guests to enjoy their stay. I highly recommend this property and hope to return next year!
Excellence with every detail. The home is amazingly decorated for the whole family's liking. Elegant yet comfortable. Great for 5-8 people. We want to come back!
We stayed two months and had a fabulous time! The home is lovely, well equipped, great views, beautifully landscaped, maximum privacy, immaculate & well prepared for our arrival. We enjoyed covered front deck for morning coffee & wine at evening sunset. Patio with BBQ, another patio with beautiful fire pit ...wonderful outdoor vignettes! Well located with many activities, hiking, biking, and rafting. Nice restaurants in Glenwood Springs, Carbondale, El Jebel and Basalt not even mentioning Aspen. Really loved this place!!!
Our group of 8 (4 adults, 4 children) had a very comfortable stay at this lovely Glenwood Springs home. The kids loved s'mores around the fire pit and the spacious areas to play outside, while the adults enjoyed evenings on the front porch taking in the incredible views. The location is ideal; it's private and secluded, yet very close to all of the amenities of the Glenwood Springs area. No question, this property is a gem!
If you are searching for a spacious, well appointed, picturesque location for your next mountain vacation...search no further. This property truly has it all. Great location, wonderful property owners, a family friendly floor plan and attention to every detail. Thank you Barbara and Family for a perfect week in glorious Glenwood Springs! We will see you again soon!
