This is the 2nd time we've stayed at this cabin. We hope to come back again. Everything you need for the perfect get-away! A great location to enjoy all that Truckee has to offer. Our dogs love it too!

Cozy Cabin

  • 4 of 5

We loved this cozy little cabin! It was more spacious than I thought it would be after seeing the photos. There was plenty of room for 8 people. We had one issue with the power going out in only the kitchen (could have been due to the snow storm) but Becky was very helpful and called us immediately. It wasn't a big deal! I would definitely recommend staying here, it has everything you need.

Clean and cozy, close to slopes

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our time, Becky (owner) was very responsive and helpful throughout entire process.

For a cabin that allows dogs, it was extremely clean, and not one dog hair was present anywhere.

All of the beds were comfortable, fireplace and HVAC system were both warm.

Cozy Cabin in Truckee

  • 5 of 5

This is a well appointed cozy cabin with easy access to hiking and snow activity. The short drive to Truckee keeps the local flavor close. We are repeat visitors and always look forward to our visit.

warm and cozy cabin retreat

  • 4 of 5

This place was wonderful. Warm and cozy and close to ski and snow fun. Great kitchen and baths and plenty of sleeping spaces. The beds were exceptionally comfortable and cozy with great comforters and pillows. They supply wood for a great fireplace fire, though you may want to bring your own starter wood or kindling.

We had one difficulty and that was just getting in and out of the house. The house and garage are at the bottom of a pretty steep driveway and the snow had melted and turned into a sheet of ice. My son fell and smacked his head pretty hard and while I was trying to break up ice just to make a safe passage for the family, I fell and hurt my hip (I am accustomed to snow and ice too, I've lived in Michigan and Boston most of my life). It was enough of a bang that both my son and I had to skip a day of snowboarding. The owners only have driveway snow removal hired and that doesn't even reach the bottom of the garage where the doors and key pad are located. The walkways are filled with snow, slippery and dangerous with a recommendation for renters to clear the snow, which clearly has not happened making for sheets of hard packed snow and ice. The owner was responsive and had someone come and put salt out the evening we arrived (and fell) but it only helped in a few areas and it was still very difficult to safely get in and out without falling for the remainder of the time we were there.

The cabin was worth the money and I'd certainly be willing to stay again, if the owners get better snow removal management and no longer were depending on their renters to spend their time away clearing snow. I'd pay more for that piece of mind and ability to move more freely around the outside of the cabin.

Wonderful Snowy Weekend

  • 5 of 5

What a delight this cozy cabin is. We awoke to a blanket of fresh snow each morning; and, kept the place warm with a roaring fire (plenty of wood is provided). The cabin is clean and well-maintained. The kitchen is a cook's delight! Historic Truckee is only a few minutes away; a plethora of shops and restaurants. The perfect get-away. The dogs loved it too! We'll be back.
