My family and I loved our stay for a long weekend. The management was thorough. The house was clean and all the amenities were provided. Our 5 year old loved the bunk beds and pool table and the TV was great to watch the Warriors game and BBQ. The hot tub was also clean and had a safety lock to keep our kids safe. We would definitely rent this house again and could even fit more than our family of four.
This was a nicely maintained home in a wonderful location. We enjoyed the pool table & hot tub and beautiful view from the front deck. It would have been nice if the house was better equipped with firewood, coffee filters, and dishwasher detergent.
This cabin was clean and delivered exactly what I expected from the website. Perfectly situated to King's Beach and Northstar (A very short drive to each.) The kitchen was well stocked with utensils, pots/pans, etc. The deck was really nice in the front of the cabin as used the grill. The hot tub in the back was clean and easy to operate. The TV and surround sound was great and instructions were available for operating them. There were lots of board games and a puzzle, which we enjoyed doing as a family. The Pool Table down stairs was a hit with the kids as we had epic games of pool. None of the darts for the dart board had tips (all of the plastic tips were broken), but that was a very minor thing and the only negative thing I can stretch to say. Also, the rental company representative I dealt with was very pleasant and responsive.
This was the perfect place to introduce my parents to Tahoe and the surrounding area.
As far as location: The historic downtown part of Truckee was a bit further to drive, but not at all inconvenient. We made historic Truckee (worth seeing by the way) a half day trip without feeling way out the way or strapped for time. There is a Safeway right there in King's Beach for any groceries. King's Beach also has a couple of good restaurants for dinner and a really great restaurant for breakfast (Log Cabin Cafe).
The house is comfortable and well maintained. It's not luxurious but it is a nice home in a nice neighborhood. The owners haven thoughtfully provided a well stocked kitchen, nice linens and very comfortable beds. They also have a nice pool table and hot tub and plenty of TVs, though we never turned them on. Though you wouldn't necessarily want to walk to the beach with all your gear, it is walkable. We went for a walk every morning and went down to the beach and main street for coffee. We found lots of shortcuts through the neighborhoods which allowed us to avoid walking for too long on the main road.
There are a lot of trees around so the house is pretty dark without a lot of natural light, particularly in the bedrooms. Despite this, it was still hot most of the time. It was in the low 80s when we were there and the common areas of the house are not air-conditioned so the house was very warm during the day. The bedroom wing is air-conditioned but the AC didn't work very well and it was very warm at bedtime and didn't really cool down until early in the morning. There was only one fan in the house so it was very difficult to keep the air moving. The internet didn't work the entire time we were there and one of the members of our party needed to work remotely so this was big inconvenience.
We were also told in the arrival email that we had passes to the private beaches in Incline Village—don't believe it! We couldn't find them so we called the property manager to confirm. When we couldn't get anyone, we went through the emergency number and were assured that our passes were at the recreation center in Incline Village. We packed everyone up and went over there to pick them up but when we got there and told them we were renting in Kings Beach, they looked at us like we were the Beverly Hillbillies and quickly told us that we were not entitled to passes.
The most frustrating part of our trip was that there was no one available to help us with the things that arose. We were there for 5 days over July 4 weekend and the property management company was closed for 3 of those days. When they finally called us back to address our concerns, it was the day before we were leaving. We usually rent homes through a company that has 24/7 concierge services so we are a little spoiled but we did rent one other time on vrbo and found the owner to be available whenever we needed them.
We enjoyed 2 nights at the cabin. The kitchen is well stocked. The beds are very comfortable! We enjoyed the surround sound tv watching the NBA Finals and hot tub as well as the many board games. A very short drive to scenic King's Beach. Easy booking, check in, and check out process too.
We recently returned from a Spring Break trip to North Lake Tahoe. The house was everything we could have hoped for and more! The house was very spacious, separate spaces for separate activities; pool/TV, dining, living room with fire place, large kitchen, deck with BBQ, hot tub. We especially enjoyed the beds!!! THE BEDS!!! So comfortable! From the linens to the AMAZING mattresses! (We are kicking ourselves for not checking to see who makes the beds).
The living room was where we spent a lot of our time watching movies and playing games. The home has a lot of movies and board games to choose from including a great selection of books. The kitchen has everything we needed to make yummy home cooked meals. Plenty of pans, pots, utensils, cups, plates, you name it, it was there!
We were very close to everything! We took advantage of hiking trails, miniature golf, grocery store, shopping, etc. EXTREMELY close to the beach!
We will definitely stay here again! Thank you so much for sharing your lovely home with us. We took care of it as if it was our own!
