We spent a wonderful Christmas and New Year here--what a start to 2004! This is a fabulous place to stay. The villa is so comfortable and the view to wake up to each morning takes your breath away. Many thanks for our holiday in this special place. I hope the rest of 2004 is as spectacular as our start.............Note: we did not rent the villa from 2005 through 2010.
My husband and four friends chose Ciel et Mer on the strength of the description and were not disappointed.
This is a wonderful house in a peaceful setting with stunning views, especially from the pool as the sun sets. We loved it.
Very comfortable lounge and dining room and a well-equipped kitchen.
We would like to express our thanks to property managers Majid and his wife for all of their help and advice- they could not have been more friendly.
Do take note of the restaurant recommendations in the Welcome Pack - they are spot on. Guided by the pack , we went to Cafe de la Fontaine in Le Turbie which was a 5 minute drive up the hill. It was excellent.
As the trip planner for our family group of 7, the pressure was on for me to select the "perfect spot" in the Cote d'azur. We could not have been more happy with Eze as our town and this villa as our home away from home. We stayed for 1 week in early June.
The villa is exactly as advertised in the website pictures - they actually don't do it justice. You certainly can't appreciate the magnificence of the view from the pictures. Well organized, spotlessly clean and more than enough room for our group of 7. Everything was in working order. The booking process with the owner was easy and quite enjoyable. He really made us feel so welcome to his home even before we got there. Finding the property was also easy as it is located close to the main roads that run through the area. One slight negative is that the villa is on a moderately busy sideroad between Eze and La Turbie so there is some intermittent vehicle noise. But the location on this road also makes access to everything nearby easier if you have a car like we did. Majid - the owner's local property manager - is an absolute gem. He met us upon arrival spent almost an hour showing us around and even had wine for us! Majid immediately responded to every question during the week and his knowledge of the area was so helpful for us first-timers. Oh and did I mention the view?
We literally could have never left the villa the entire week and been just fine, but there were sights to see. Eze is a great spot close to everything in the eastern Cote D'azur. Monaco and Nice are both a few minutes away and there are endless picturesque smaller villages within a short drive.
Just writing this review takes me back! Great villa, great trip! Highly recommended.
We just returned from a fabulous week at this lovely home. The views from the living, dining and master bedroom as well as the front patio and the pool are spectacular. We fully expected to cook some of our meals in the well equipped kitchen but after trying a few of our hosts suggestions for dining, we had such delicious meals that we only had breakfast at the house. Thank you to Deborah and Bert for all you help in making our visit one that we will always treasure.
We've spent a week at this house in August. House is great, has all the amenities you could imagine, A/C, nice pool and the great view. Great place to relax with a glass of wine and watch boats down below. Eze is a nice little village, conveniently located between Nice and Monaco. The description of the house is accurate, owners are reasonable and easy to deal with. I will be happy to come back next year, situation permits...
This villa was perfect for my busy family of four. It was impeccably clean, extremely spacious with stunning views and one of the best locations in the south of France. My young children thoroughly enjoyed the pool and outdoor spaces while my husband and I appreciated the well appointed kitchen and relaxed setting. From the villa we took a very short car ride to Provence, Italy, and Monaco as well as enjoying the local towns of Eze and La Turbie. The owners and house manager were extraordinarily helpful with all aspects of our stay: from the planning through our departure we felt complete support. We will definitely be renting this villa again in the near future. Thank you!
Great location - very close to both Nice and Monaco.
Bert was very helpful in planning the trip. The villa is very well maintained and comes with everything you'll need to feel at home. Would easily recommend Bert & the villa to any of my friends!
LIFE east of NICE is so much more pleasurable than west; no sitting in traffic on the RN7, none of the congestion that mars the enjoyment of your stay, easy access to everywhere you want to go--Nice, Monaco, the Italian towns of the Ligurian coast, beaches, hiking trails, outdoor markets, festivals, exhibitions, shopping and museums. Eze, itself, sits 400 m. above the Mediterranean on an imposing cliff top. The cobbled streets are home to the world renowned Chevre d’Or restaurant, endless art galleries, gifts shops and stone houses. The gardens at the very top and the ruins of the chateau offer an eagles’ nest view out over the coast and at the base is the Fragonard perfume factory with free tours.
The medieval village of La Turbie located between the A8 and the villa, is famous for the Roman remains “Les Trophee des Alps” built in 6 BC. La Turbie has a local market, supermarket, butchers, florists, boulangeries and patisseries as well as bars, cafes, restaurants and pizzerias.
