Charlotte grew up in this home and now it's our pleasure to share it with you. It is two blocks from Washington Park, close to light rail, bike rental, grocery stores, restaurants, University of Denver, The Denver Tech Center and downtown. Pet and child friendly.

Charlotte moved into this house when she was 11 years old in 1927 (check out the photo in on the desk) with her parents and siblings. She lived here for 84 years and moved out just before she turned 96. Now her home is helping to pay for her assisted living costs. She would love to hear about your stay at her home, we have a notebook where you can leave her a message, she'll probably reply!

We know your pets (please discuss before booking with pets) and children will love the big back yard and walks in the beautiful park. The area is safe and the neighbors are friendly!

The house is equipped with everything you need to cook fabulous meals, has cable and HBO, high speed wi-fi and is beautiful and comfortable. There is a twin size air mattress for extra guests.

We've stocked the house with guide books so you can easily find a good trail to bike, run or snowshoe.

You have access to the entire house, front and back yards.

There is a lock-box with a key for late arrivals. We're happy to help with things like grocery shopping etc with advance arrangements but we don't want to bother you if solitude is what you're after. We'll let you take the lead.

The Washington park neighborhood centers around one of Denver's finest parks, known as wash park for short. The park covers 165 acres, and features one of the most popular running trails in Denver. Two scenic lakes and the city's largest flower garden add to wash park's bucolic charm.

Wash park neighborhood is a very safe and lovely area for a stroll, the people are friendly and there are many shop and restaurants within walking distance.

The house is about a mile from the light rail station. It's one block to the bus which will take you right to the bike rental kiosk and light rail. Denver has a wonderful bike rental program and bike paths that make cycling an ideal way to get around the city.

About Gretchen (and Charlotte)

I'm Gretchen, Charlotte's granddaughter and I'm helping her list and manage her home. Charlotte moved to an assisted living facility after living in her home for 84 years. In renting her home we hope we've found a way that her home can financially support her assisted living costs. She misses her home very much but the wonderful notes left by guests make it easier.

Wonderful bungalow in a lovely neighborhood

The proximity to Washington Park and to the row of restaurants a few blocks away makes this bungalow a great spot for a relaxing trip to Denver. We had impressive fare at Homegrown Tap and Dough after an afternoon of jogging and strolling at the park. What a charming and safe neighborhood! We were quite comfortable in the house and thrilled to be a short drive away from downtown where there are ballgames and fantastic restaurants. We also went hiking in the Golden area which is only about 25 minutes away--spectacular!

Minor downsides: no counter space in the bathroom, squeaky old floors that wake light sleepers when another person is up at night, and only one bathroom for three bedrooms. It is an old house, nicely appointed and maintained, but old nonetheless. If you can handle these minor issues, you'll be very happy here.

Perfect location, well-stocked, comfy, great outdoor spaces

Our group of 4 adults and 2 babies enjoyed our long weekend. Our fave parts of the house are: well-stocked kitchen, lots of asst bed pillows, 2 'pack n plays' and a highchair, great outdoor spaces, walking distance to Wash Park and 10 mins to the zoo and botanic gardens and yummy coffee and ice cream!

Perfect location and comfortable house

The property is very well maintained and perfectly stocked for meals, and families. Walk to Gaylord or University streets for great food. Bungalow living but the 3 bedrooms and one bath worked well for a family of four. Perfect neighborhood to walk around and close to Washington park for even more walking. Respectful neighbors and fun place to stay! Thank you for a great, easy stay. In town.

Just like home!

We had a amazing time in Denver and enjoyed staying in your Washington Park home. It was perfect for our family of five! Well maintained and decorated with a vintage charm. The neighborhood is lovely, near university of Denver, Washington Park, Gaylord street restaurants and shops. A great location and home! We hope to come back soon.

Clean and Cozy

The house was just as pictured. The location is great and it was a perfect base for our visit to Denver. We had a little problem with the door code when we arrived but Gretchen responded immediately! I would highly recommend the property.
