About the property

1927 Wash Park Bungalow

*We comply with all local laws, we have a short term rental license (2016-BFN-0008388) and we pay all local taxes*

Charlotte grew up in this home and now it's our pleasure to share it with you. It is two blocks from Washington Park, close to light rail, bike rental, grocery stores, restaurants, University of Denver, The Denver Tech Center and downtown. Pet and child friendly.

Charlotte moved into this house when she was 11 years old in 1927 (check out the photo in on the desk) with her parents and siblings. She lived here for 84 years and moved out just before she turned 96. Now her home is helping to pay for her assisted living costs. She would love to hear about your stay at her home, we have a notebook where you can leave her a message, she'll probably reply!

We know your pets (please discuss before booking with pets) and children will love the big back yard and walks in the beautiful park. The area is safe and the neighbors are friendly!

The house is equipped with everything you need to cook fabulous meals, has cable and HBO, high speed wi-fi and is beautiful and comfortable. There is a twin size air mattress for extra guests.

We've stocked the house with guide books so you can easily find a good trail to bike, run or snowshoe.

You have access to the entire house, front and back yards.

There is a lock-box with a key for late arrivals. We're happy to help with things like grocery shopping etc with advance arrangements but we don't want to bother you if solitude is what you're after. We'll let you take the lead.

The Washington park neighborhood centers around one of Denver's finest parks, known as wash park for short. The park covers 165 acres, and features one of the most popular running trails in Denver. Two scenic lakes and the city's largest flower garden add to wash park's bucolic charm.

Wash park neighborhood is a very safe and lovely area for a stroll, the people are friendly and there are many shop and restaurants within walking distance.

The house is about a mile from the light rail station. It's one block to the bus which will take you right to the bike rental kiosk and light rail. Denver has a wonderful bike rental program and bike paths that make cycling an ideal way to get around the city.

We've supplied maps and transit information for you.

About Gretchen (and Charlotte)

I'm Gretchen, Charlotte's granddaughter and I'm helping her list and manage her home. Charlotte moved to an assisted living facility after living in her home for 84 years. In renting her home we hope we've found a way that her home can financially support her assisted living costs. She misses her home very much but the wonderful notes left by guests make it easier.

Gretchen (and Charlotte) purchased this house in 1927

What makes this house unique

Four generations of our family have lived in this home. There are a lifetime of precious memories here for our family and we hope that it's a special place for you as well.

We love Charlottes House, great neighborhood near DU and good restaurants.

What a great house with lots of history. Very comfortable and dog friendly. Gretchen was very helpful for the few things we needed. The row homes with alleys reminds us of St. Louis hills. Can't wait to return.

Delightful!

We had a delightful time at Charlotte and Gretchen's home. The home has a lot of history and authenticity to it. The neighborhood was beautiful - we so enjoyed driving and walking the area and seeing the landscaping. Great location with beautiful park & museums nearby.

Nice home, well decorated.

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our stay, especially the back patio and grill. Home is in a residential area, which is very quiet. It's not easy to walk anywhere, but close to places if you drive. Overall it was a great stay.

Perfect launch point for your Denver city adventure

  • 5 of 5

Lovely WA Park home in a classic part of Denver, and an ideal launch point for exploring the city. Home is very well maintained and super clean, with all the essentials you would need for a getaway in Denver. Recommended for families or small groups. We stayed as a group of 5 guys and were pretty comfortable... more than that would be pushing it though. ~10 minute drive from fun in LoHi + Downtown, walking distance from WA park mini business districts with nice restaurants and bars, and of course WA Park.
