Extra large comfy house!

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay last week. After leaving Charlestown 17 years ago, the family was eager to return! Our friends up at The Bakery didn't disappoint and there were many morning runs to have scones, muffins and coffee.

The house is equipped with comfy beds, two living rooms and two kitchens which makes for spreading out and cooking for a crowd easy. The fire pit was a big hit every night! Thankfully for us, we have lots of friends still living nearby who brought us plenty of firewood.

Since we were traveling from Seattle, we ended up buying beach chairs, sand toys and a umbrella and leaving it at the house for the next renters. Hope you enjoy!

Although the descriptions only mentions a Keurig coffee maker, there were 2 Mr. Coffee makers so there's really no need to purchase the expensive K-cups. There are plenty of cooking pans and utensils. There were a few pillows in the closet, but we had purchased pillows at a local store and then gave them to a family member when we left.

Understand that water is trucked in twice a week and contained in very large barrels under the deck. We were careful to take quick showers in the outside shower to rinse all the sand off and we minimized flushing toilets. This ended up not being a problem at all, just getting use to the thought that water is precious! Which it is!

The entrance to the beach is a bit of a walk down the street so as not to go through the neighbors property across the street. It was very handy to have a home near the beach when little ones needed to use the bathroom or make up lunch and bring it to the beach.

My kids are wondering when we're going to return!

Wonderful stay, The new decks and the roof deck fablous

  • 4 of 5

We have stayed here several summers and greatly enjoyed it each time. Recent improvements include five very large decks with "Trex" planks (no splinters). The roof deck, with separate staircase off the rear kitchen deck (which is protected from rain by the second floor rear deck) is fabulous - with commanding views of ocean AND bay - you see the world.

Plenty of room for children and grandchildren in the bedrooms (each of which has cross ventilation) and for large family dinners indoors or out. The second floor master bedroom is especially spacious and one can see the bay and the sea from bed.

A brief walk to one of the ocean pass throughs brings you to a beach away from the crowds. We paddle our kayaks in the bay most days from a put-in among the reeds about 100yds down Potter Rd. which is near the house.

The fire pit is also a hit with all.

Wonderful Experience

  • 5 of 5

We rented this location for a family reunion and had an absolutely amazing time. The location is superb and accomodated a diverse crew with varying interests. Portions of our group were able to split off an enjoy a variety of activities including fishing near the breachway; kayaking in the salt pond; sightseeing throughout the state; or simply relaxing at the beach. The unit has a great layout and offers a lot of space to accomodate large groups. The two kitchens and refrigerators were a nice amenity. The large living room was nice for evening gatherings and we were able to combine two of the dining room tables that allowed 12 of us to sit together for a lobster broil. The bedrooms are larger than most rentals and the bedding was comfortable. The owner was very responsive and nice to work with. We would certainly consider this place for future gatherings!

Beautiful home, clean and nicely laid out, a short walk from the beach. (Unfortunate that we were not allowed to cross to the beach directly opposite the house, but the owners of those houses on the beach certainly have the right to refuse access.) The beach was almost private, as we were far from the crowds. Lovely! We brought our entire family, 8 adults, 3 children ages 1,2, and 3. There was plenty of space for everyone in the 5 bedrooms. Outdoor shower was nice, with hot and cold water and plenty of space for dressing, etc. Owner was very responsive to my questions/emails regarding provisions. We love this area, and like to eat at Champlins in Pt Judith, and the Andrea in Misquamicut, among other places. We cooked most of our meals in the lovely kitchen (there are 2). Would definitely recommend this home to anyone.

Great place!

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time at this house on our vacation. There is plenty of room to spread out and having two kitchens and living rooms was so nice! Having the ocean breeze and sound of the waves made it perfect! We would recommend if you have a large group or two families traveling together. The owner was great to work with and very responsive. Hope to visit again next summer :)
