If this house could talk, it would have a sexy French accent. Bright and lofty, the space almost reminds you of a rustic farmhouse...if that farmhouse were inhabited by Brigitte Bardot.
The lodge began life as a dark, closed off space with poor ventilation and little hope (see the album of photos in the foyer documenting the project if you don’t believe us!) But the French owner saw past these defects and imagined a space full of light and air; she took in the high ceilings, colored glass window panes, and patterned tile lining the floor, and saw the potential for elegance reborn. After a complete renovation that fortunately kept these original features intact, the house was decked out with plush chairs, starched white linens, and a few key finds from the local flea market—think turquoise armoires, wrought iron stools, vintage posters. A smooth wooden breakfast bar glows beside hammered tin cupboards in the kitchen, while the bathrooms absolutely scream farmhouse chic— creamy white tile, unvarnished floorboards, and fluffy towels for luxe comfort.
The upstairs bedroom, paneled entirely in warm cedar, offers quiet and privacy, as well as access to the divine roof terrace. There’s a barbecue for grilling, a shower for cooling down on hot days, and miniature orange trees, just because. Oh, and did we mention there’s an Eiffel Tower in the living room? Just a cheeky tip of the hat (beret?) to the owner’s home country that says: Bienvenue! Please be aware that there are stairs to enter the property and also there are stairs to access the second bedroom and the terrace.
