This is a unique opportunity to experience some of the wonder and tranquility of Puget Sound within the major metropolitan area of Seattle. Open the windows and settle into the rhythm and wonder of the sea.
We are native Seattlites, living now part time in Seattle, Sandpoint, ID and on our boat. We love West Seattle and feel there is no better place to feel part of a small beach community within a major metropolitan area.
Teresa purchased this condo in 2005
The location is very, very special. It has been in our family for two generations first as a beach cottage, in the 70's a new luxury executive suite 2 unit apartment was build on the site. In 2006 the building underwent a major remodel. In the last couple of months the 1300 square foot ground floor unit again remodeled and re-furnish to enter the beachfront vacation rental market. This unit offers the quiet of a private waterfront location while being within easy walking distance to the fun activities of Alki Beach Park. If you choose to leave the beach for downtown Seattle, it is only minutes away. We believe this is the best place live and vacation in Seattle.
Our property gives us the chance to see eagles flying overhead, sea lions, otters, sea birds within feet of the waterline, schools of orca when in season, even a gray whale once in a while. We love walking the beach finding treasures or simply being on the patio enjoying the sun and the sounds of the sea, walking to a restaurant or biking or roller blading from the front yard. It is inspiring to watch the boating traffic anything from sailboarders to sailing races to large commercial freighters. This place has a 'soul' to us and it and has been very loved part of our family.
We loved our time here at Theresa's rental. The home was very clean and situated right above the waters edge.
The kitchen is well stocked and there is some chairs and a table outside song with a nice grill.
The living room looks directly out over the water and has a fireplace (gas) which is lovely. The kitchen is well stocked. The tv room is quite comfortable, and the the bed in the master room was super comfortable.
There is an upstairs apartment which ended up being rented for 5 of our 16 days. It was incredibly loud when they walked around. Son happened they were up late and early... I do not think they were loud people , i think it was perhaps poorly insulted. It was super quiet the rest of the time. The price is high (compared to other entire homes we have rented in Alki) but the location, privacy and waterfront should hold their weight. Glad to have spent time here. What an awesome location... and photographers dream.
This was our second stay at Teresa's Alki condo. The home is always immaculate and that view is breathtaking. I loved waking up and watching the ferries at dusk while drinking my coffee. We also love watching the seals that come by early in the morning. This house is very spacious and quiet. Great way to spend a vacation!!! I love the location as well, it's very easy for us to go to other places to explore with ease. Each trip here is a new adventure and I can't wait to come back. Teresa is extremely accommodating and easy to work with. I love the Sonos system they put in so I could play my own music. It's like being at home, only better.
There were 4 of us staying for 4 nights. We had beautiful views of the Sound. The unit was very comfortable. We found everything we needed to prepare breakfast the one morning we ate in. Unfortunately, weather prevented us from using the barbeque and enjoing the deck to the fullest. Overall, we enjoyed our stay very much.
A couple of things that would have made the stay a little better: 4 towels for 4 people isn't sufficient, particularly when 2 are women. Pretty much need one for body, one for hair. There were 6 washclothes - it would have been nice to have 2 washclothes per person.
There isn't a lamp on the nightstand in the 2nd bedroom and the lightbulb in one of the two lamps in the master bedroom went out and we couldn't find a replacement.
And while it speaks more to what is probably our lack of observation skills, it would have been nice if there was a note in the book telling us there were little dimmer sliders on the sides of several wall switches for the ceiling lights. We saw the one in the bedroom but didn't realize there were dimmers on switches in the other rooms.
We would recommend this unit to others.
The Alki Beach Respite felt like home! The kitchen is fully equipped with anything a cook could ask for. The patio deck gives you beautiful views of Puget Sound. We were lucky enough to have four sunny days and we spent the majority of our time on the patio. The condo is very comfortable and clean. We will definitely be back!
This was a perfect condo for our family of 4 and 6 would of worked too! Plenty of space for everyone and every detail accounted for! The accommodations were beautiful, the waterfront view & private beach relaxing, proximity to Seattle easy & just staying and having an easy day in Alki Beach was terrific as well!
Staying on Alki Beach was one of the best decisions we made. The accommodations exceeded our expectations and we had a wonderful time relaxing and enjoying the views. The home is spacious and we were all able to spread out and visit. We had no trouble finding the home and were especially glad for the parking spot out front for our rental car as there are plenty of times that there just wasn't any parking on the beach. All of Alki Beach's restaurants and activities were within walking distance and every one that we went to was excellent. The home was comfortably furnished and well maintained. Teresa was available and responded quickly to all inquiries from the onset. We would definitely recommend this property to our friends and relatives if ever they travel to Seattle and if we ever come back ourselves, we know where we will plan on staying. The historic Lighthouse next door was only open on Saturday and we could not go away without a visit as it is right there touching the property. We found that to be quite interesting. This place is truly a gem and took us from the hustle-bustle of downtown to a much more peaceful and tranquil setting that was close enough to see and do all the downtown activities as well as enjoy the beachfront living experience too.
