"Meh" cabin but great location!

  • 3 of 5

Some good, some bad with this cabin. I asked for a "cozy cabin" and we got a small 800 sq. ft. cabin close to the downtown village. The location was great! However, the cabin itself was less than awesome. For starters, it didn't have any carpet...not a stitch! No bathroom rug, kitchen rug or carpet to walk on in any of the rooms made for a cold place to walk. It also didn't have any curtains (although it did have blinds). Three lightbulbs in the bathroom were burnt out, the kitchen had a strange array of items...one wine glass, two glasses, one spoon, no paper towels, napkins, matches or wine opener, tons of plate. The bed frame of one of the bedrooms was broken and the comforter was ripped. It only had one couch in the living room so only 3 of us at a time could sit on it. No other chairs in the living room. It won't take much money to make this cabin cozier...invest in some utensils, extra blankets, kitchen gadgets...throw in a box of matches and a throw rug or two. The shower was amazing, though, and there were plenty of towels for us. We won't be staying at this cabin again and will think twice about going through Big Bear Rentals as this is the second "meh" place we've stayed at.
