***** First off I would like to let all of our future and past guests know that "The Mistress" cabin did not get effected by the fires in the area. I would also like to let everyone know that the area is up and going with no damage to any of the tourist areas in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge.******

This real log cabin is perfectly located in Sky Harbor between Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. You can be in either town in less than 8 to 10 minutes. Welcome to our pet friendly cabin where the peaceful and picturesque setting will make you relax and enjoy all that the Smokey Mountains has to offer. Trust me the pictures of this wonderful cabin do in no way do it justice.

Our cabin is conveniently located between Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge on well-maintained paved roads. The gentle drive to our authentic log cabin will be easy on your nerves as well as your vehicle. Situated in a beautiful location plenty of paved parking, paved driveway, a large yard, along with lots of open space. This is not a (cookie cutter stacked cabin) you are not right on top of another cabin so you feel more at home. Cable TV, with local channels, is provided on all three televisions. The cabin also has internet with wifi. Cell Phone reception for most major providers.

PET FRIENDLY: Well-behaved house-trained dogs, are welcome with owner approval. All damages are the responsibility of the pet owner.

MASTER BEDROOM: This bedroom is on the upper level it has a King size bed. This bedroom has a large TV. Adjoining to this bedroom is a wonderful master bathroom with shower as well as a balcony for relaxing.

SECOND BEDROOM: The second bedroom is located downstairs. It has a Queen size bed and television There is a another large bath adjoining this bedroom with a large whirl pool garden tub to relax and enjoy.

LIVING AREA: The living area has a leather sofa and recliner as well as a rocking chair to enjoy with family and friends. You can enjoy a cup of hot chocolate or coffee as you enjoy yourself by the cozy fire place in the winter months. Fireplace only to be utilized from October 15th thru March 15th please.

KITCHEN AREA: There is a counter bar with three bar stools. The kitchen is fully furnished with cookware and dishes and all that you will need.

OUTSIDE: The huge wrap around porch offers wonderful winter veiws as well a partial summer views. You can enjoy a morning cup of coffee while swinging in the swing or in the rocking chairs on the covered porch as well as enjoy a large hot tub to soak your worries away. Outdoor park style grill for BBQ'n and grilling.

PARKING: There is plenty of parking at the cabin for 4 to 5 cars. There is also plenty of level parking for motorcycles at the top of the driveway directly in front of the cabin. Please do not attempt to park motorcycles on the side of the cabin due to that parking area is designated for automobile parking only. Cabin can be easily reached towing a trailer but trailers over 20 ft may have issues due to mountain roads. But trailers under 20 ft should have no issues.

About The Owner

We have been visiting the Smokies for years and have fallen in love with the area. We have dreamed for years of buying a cabin here and finally we took the leap. We hope you and your family are touched by the area the same way we have been. We hope you will enjoy our cabin and all it has to offer in this beautiful mountain area and respect it as you would your own.

The Owner purchased this cabin in 2010

Why The Owner chose Tennessee

We seem to be drawn back to the mountains every year for the beauty and diversity of things to do. We have traveled to other areas of the country but the Smokies have always drawn us back.

What makes this cabin unique

We love to ride motorcycles and spend 80% of our time up there exploring the wonderful roads on our Harley. The location has some of the best riding that you could ever ask for.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We would like to thank each and everyone of you that took time out of your busy schedules to let us know how much you enjoyed your stay at The Mistress!

We as owners are so pleased we are able to provide a great place to stay in this wonderful part of this great country of ours and that we are able to do it at the best rate we possibly can.

We are your normal everyday working people ourselves and know how important it is to getaway and enjoy quality time with family and friends. It is very important for us to keep the rates down to a point that anyone will be able to enjoy the mountains and not break the family budget to do it.

We thank each and everyone of you and we hope we not only provided just a comfortable and affordable place to stay but in some small way maybe contributed to some spectacular memories.

Awesome stay!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at this beautiful cabin for 4 nights, and it was wonderful! We didn't want to go home! The place was clean, kitchen and bathrooms well-stocked, and the owners were a breeze to work with. The hot tub pump was repaired while we were there, Chancy is a great person. I spent every evening sipping wine on the porch swing, enjoying the wonderful view. Definitely recommended.

Will surely return

  • 5 of 5

We were hesitant to keep our reservation after the Gatlinburg wildfires, but Bonnie assured us that our visit would not disappoint. She was right! Not only was there more things to do than we had time for, but the cabin was perfect! Location, price, cleanliness, and friendly owners like these make me continue to book through VRBO.

The cabin itself is about 10-15 minutes from both Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. It is easy to locate and has everything you could possibly need. There was wood and a starter log for the fireplace, laundry detergent to wash clothes, a loofa, all toiletries, and plenty of towels for all of us. The kitchen was well appointed with all the necessities. Comfy beds and tasteful decor made our stay highly enjoyable. We will surely be returning to stay at The Mistress in the future!

Amazing Experience!

  • 5 of 5

Loved our stay at the Mistress! We saw a Mama bear with her three Cubs walk by the house our first day! Once in a life time experience! Very homey and warm cabin, fully equipped for our four night stay. Very pet friendly and so convenient to both Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg! Tucked away on a quiet street, yet so close to area attractions- you truly get the best of both worlds here. Thank you to the owners for sharing your beautiful home!

Wonderful Stay!

  • 5 of 5

The Mistress was the perfect cabin for our family. We are a family of five: my husband and me, and our kids ages 9,7, and 18 months. We also took our four-legged baby, Duke.

We found the cabin to have everything we needed. We also appreciated the decent sized yard at the cabin, which was large enough for the kids and the dog to play.

Chancey and Bonnie were always very quick in response to my emails. They are great to work with!

The best thing about this cabin to us was the location. Once you get down the mountain (about 2 miles), it's either left to Gatlinburg or right to Pigeon Forge. They are both only minutes away! We spent time at the National Park as well. Nothing was more than a few minutes drive!

As affordable as this place is, and being in such a great location, The Mistress is a gem!

Bears, Bears, and more Bears...

  • 5 of 5

Let me start by saying that this cabin is perfect for two couples. The cabin was clean and the decor was the best I have seen. We have been coming to Gatlinburg (sometimes twice a year) for the past 5 years and have stayed in cabins that have nothing on the walls. This cabin really gives you the feel of country mountain living. Everything was in good working condition. The wifi worked perfect with multiple devices (yes you can stream Netflix).

As for the Bears, we had a total of 17 sightings for the week. I almost hit one with car as we were leaving the cabin (about 100 yards down the road). We saw two on the Gatlinburg bypass (one going to Cades Cove and one coming back). We did a trail in Cades Cove (Rich Mountain to Crooked Arm) and saw two bears on the trail. One was only about 15 yards away(kind of scary). All the other sighting were on the Roaring Fork Motor Loop. We ate dinner early and hit the loop at around 7 or 7:30 each night. Every night we went through the loop we saw bears. Most were seen around the Rainbow Falls trailhead and Grotto Falls trailhead, although we saw some deeper in also. If you see bears, please don't feed them or get out of your car and chase after them. They are wild animals and can be dangerous.

I have stayed in Sky Habor several times and I really like this area. I have gotten to know this area enough that now I know the back way in and out also. If you know your way you can come out on the Arts and Craft loop and Hwy321 which is light#3 in Gatlinburg. You cannot beat the price for this cabin. This was the cheapest we have ever stayed in Gatlinburg. Thank you Bonnie and Chancy for the use of your cabin. I wish you had more cabins.
