We live in in Chicago, and have been going to Saugatuck each summer for the past several years, really enjoy what Saugatuck can offer year-around. We are a family of four, with two kids. Our parents like to come along and also we like to spend time with other families.
One of the main questions we had was if we wanted to be in town or on the beach. When we came to Saugatuck, we found that we would go to the beach 4-5 times a week, but we would come into town multiple times a day, so the decision was easy. The property is in a great location - quiet neighborhood yet a short walk to town. Also we wanted a place that could fit two families, with multiple kids each, plus one or two sets of parents, or a nanny.
The 4,500 SF house accommodates several groups and allows privacy as well as shared space. It is much newer than the vast majority of homes available in Saugatuck; and it is configured with 4 desks and premium internet service for those folks that can't stay unplugged from work for too long.
This home was an excellent choice for our 7 person leadership team to host our business retreat. The accommodations were spotless and everything was easy to find and use. We enjoyed having the dining room, living room(s), and porches to relax and have some great discussions. Alex was easy to work with and was very responsive to any questions we had leading up to our stay. The proximity to the downtown shops and eateries allowed us to easily walk to and from town for dinner each night. The large televisions allowed us to view our presentations via the hdmi connection on our laptops. The kitchen contained everything we needed to supply breakfast and lunch each day. We will definitely consider coming back here next year for our retreat. Thanks! -- Bob Schneider
The home is large enough for a big group of people... Plenty of places to gather! Perfect for a family get together, & you can walk everywhere! Will definitely stay again.
Twenty family members gathered in Saugatuck for an anniversary event; 16 of them stayed at the house. The kitchen is unusually well-equipped, compared to other vacation rentals that we have experienced, which was a very good thing in view of the four large dinners that were prepared there. The accommodations were excellent in every respect, and all of the guests commented on what a great choice the house was. The location was quite convenient for walking to the waterfront and the commercial area, and the driveways were big enough to accommodate the many vehicles of our group so that we did not need on-street parking.
This was a great house in a great location. It's an easy walk to downtown. And the house was large enough that we could spread out comfortably. I would definitely recommend it.
Our family of nine thoroughly enjoyed our week at this beautiful rental! There were 3 adult couples and 3 grandchildren, who are 23, 20, and 13. We took daily walks to the shops near the Kalamazoo River (3 blocks), rode bikes around the neighborhood, played tennis, basketball, and hit baseballs at the school behind the home, enjoyed Oval Beach several times, took a dune ride, rented paddle boats, walked up Mt. Baldy, and went on an evening ride on the Star of Saugatuck, from which we watched the most beautiful sunset! We also had many great meals and treats in the Saugatuck area!
Our family Enjoyed the home's 3 porches and the ping pong table on the lower level. All the beds were comfortable and the bedrooms spacious. We would have liked one more regular-sized bed; however families with Young children would love the two bedrooms with bunk beds and all the children's toys, games, etc.!
Thanks you to the Arejo family for renting their beautiful Saugatuck home to us! We have many great memories from our time there!
