The living room has a full entertainment system, with 60” flat screen, HD Cable with DVR, TiVo, DVD, and a stereo system. There is also a seating area with two comfortable club chairs by the indoor, gas fireplace.

The upstairs has four bedrooms and a lounge area with a pull-out sofa bed. Bedrooms upstairs include a Master Suite and three additional bedrooms – see the pictures for detailed bedroom configuration; the sleeping arrangements are very flexible.

This house offers indoor parking for two vehicles, and space outside for four additional vehicles.

Several outdoor areas: a screened in porch, with a round dining table and comfortable sectional couch adjacent to the living/dining room; an area with several lounging chairs in front of the outdoor fireplace; in addition, there is a nice yard that is adjacent to a wide open grass softball field, with basketball, and tennis courts are steps away.

About Alex D.

We live in in Chicago, and have been going to Saugatuck each summer for the past several years, really enjoy what Saugatuck can offer year-around. We are a family of four, with two kids. Our parents like to come along and also we like to spend time with other families.

Why Alex D. chose Michigan

One of the main questions we had was if we wanted to be in town or on the beach. When we came to Saugatuck, we found that we would go to the beach 4-5 times a week, but we would come into town multiple times a day, so the decision was easy. The property is in a great location - quiet neighborhood yet a short walk to town. Also we wanted a place that could fit two families, with multiple kids each, plus one or two sets of parents, or a nanny.

What makes this house unique

The 4,500 SF house accommodates several groups and allows privacy as well as shared space. It is much newer than the vast majority of homes available in Saugatuck; and it is configured with 4 desks and premium internet service for those folks that can't stay unplugged from work for too long.

Very well appointed home. Has everything you need to entertain.

Great location. Parents could walk to town while kids played in park next door. Decorating was very well done. It feels like home. Couldn't have been happier with the choice.

Awesome House!

  • 5 of 5

Awesome house with a ton of space. There were 14 of us (7 adults, 7 children) and we had plenty of room. Spacious kitchen, dining, bedrooms and living areas. Used the outdoor fireplace and there was plenty of firewood. Close to downtown Saugatuck and about a ten minute drive to Oval Beach. Highly recommend!

We really appreciated how well organized and labeled everything was, made it easy to find what we needed and know where to put things back. Overall just a wonderful experience.

Special Saugatuck Farmhouse

  • 5 of 5

Visited with a group of women for a week. We had a wonderful stay. The pictures do not do the property or landscaping justice. It was beautiful to sit on the screened in porch and enjoy lazy afternoon summers. The kitchen is topnotch...of the best I have used in VRBO properties. Usually, I have to "make do" or make a Target run, but this kitchen lacked for nothing. The knives were sharp, the pots were big, Tupperware was abundant, the coffee maker was large and the gas stove and 2 grills kept 7 women very happy. We gathered at the center isle or huge dining room table for coffee, dinner, wine. The two large seating areas in the upstairs living room and downstairs family room allowed everybody a chance to relax and enjoy the screen of their choice. The bedrooms were large and I particularly enjoyed the above garage bedroom as it was quieter and cooler than the rest of the house. Everybody felt the mattresses were comfortable, even the twin beds. The house was clean and comfortable. We made use of the gas grill, the outside wood burning fireplace, and there is a second charcoal grill/smoker available.

The neighborhood is quiet and residential, but backs up to the high school grounds if somebody wanted to shoot hoops or play a game of tennis. Several of the women enjoyed walking around the local streets. It was a quick, pleasant walk into town...only a few blocks, but the hills can be steep on the way back if you are arthritis challenged.

There were also several "kid" areas that would make is very family friendly. The large house is spread out and afforded everybody enough group time, but also the opportunity to slide away for some alone time.

We found the house stocked with trash bags, soap, paper towels and even enough toilet paper that we only made one sojourn to the local grocery store for supplies. We left our extra tin foil, supplies, and condiments. The last guest did the same for us and we appreciated not having to go get a lot of condiments right off the bat. The refrigerator is large and the second one in the garage ( older and a bit used) handily took care of our water and cold beverages.

There is a grocery store close by and South Holland is a quick drive for a Target or a Walmart run.

All in all, it was a great week.We look forward to staying again.

Wonderful stay in Saugatuck!

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay at the modern farmhouse! The location was perfect with an easy walk to downtown and short drive to Oval beach. The house was just lovely and we enjoyed our morning coffee on the screened in porch and family game time around the large dining table. The kitchen was beautiful and fully stocked with everything you would ever need. The boys also enjoyed the close proximity to tennis and basketball courts. We will definitely visit again!

A Great Week!!

  • 5 of 5

We are celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary this year. We have children living on both coasts and locally and wanted to be able to be all together for a reunion/vacation/celebration. This was the right place! The home is very spacious, open and well maintained. It easily accommodated 16 of us while still allowing areas of privacy if and when needed. The large kitchen and table were perfect for meal preps and eating together. Our favorite area was the large screened in porch but the pingpong table got plenty of use too. We had only 4 children in our group so the 6 youth bunkbeds made accommodating our single adults a little more difficult but we managed and everyone was happy and comfortable.

Since it was just a few minutes walk into downtown Saugatuck we visited the waterfront and the many cute shops almost every day. There is also plenty of activities in the area for all ages.

This is definitely a place we would love to return to again.
